Our plan was to eat here and then go to Barnes & Noble. When my son fell asleep in the car, we decided to order our food to go and eat in the car so he could get some much-needed sleep. I ordered a curry dish. When it came out, I asked for two forks and two rectangular to-go containers that we could use as bowls. They refused to give them to me. I even offered to pay whatever they wanted for the containers and explained that two people were trying to eat in the car and there was no practical way to share a curry out of one soup-style container. The woman just looked at me and said, "No." She eventually went into the kitchen in a huff and came back with ONE paper plate. For curry. A liquid curry. How exactly are two people supposed to eat curry from one paper plate in a car? I also asked to substitute brown rice for white rice, which I understand normally comes with an upcharge. Instead, it appears they simply added and charged me for a separate order of brown rice rather than charging for a substitution. I wasn't asking for anything unreasonable, and I repeatedly offered to pay for what I needed. The complete unwillingness to accommodate such a simple request was honestly bizarre and unnecessarily rude. Very disappointing experience. read more

I would've given 4 stars but one of the chicken pieces in my dish tasted a bit old to me. Not in a "it's gone bad" kind of way but it had that past its prime taste. Otherwise the food was solid. We had the beef on a stick appetizer. The meat was flavorful and tender. I had the ginger stir fry. Very good flavor and on the savory v sweet side. The mango sticky rice was solid. Each piece of mango was perfectly ripe. Others got the curry and felt it wasn't as spicy as they wanted so next time they'll ask for it to be "Thai" spicy v American spicy. The interior is the standard Thai restaurant decor. It was nice for a casual spot. The service was solid. We were a larger group and she knew what each ordered, which is appreciated. Came in during lunch to a heavy lunch crowd. Fair warning- when the restaurant is full, it is VERY loud. It was very difficult to hear one another at our table. Staff was very busy with a lot going on so they struggled to remember the table's order, both with drinks and food. They were very nice and tried to help but it seemed like there were only two people working the whole restaurant. There were some discrepancies between the same dish that was ordered which was odd. Overall the food was good. Chicken satay appetizer was as expected. Spring rolls, same thing. The green curry was more trying to be spicy than true flavor which was a bummer. We came to The Thai after looking for a place to eat and checking local reviews. I know my son likes Thai rice and this place was well rated so he figured it was worth trying. We came in right before a snowstorm so it was relatively empty. There were a few tables of people of the women who greeted us is very nice and see if this promptly. I had the pad Thai. My son got Thai fried rice and my wife got a duck noodle dish. Having tried all three they were all excellent. The duck was really good and surprisingly affordable for what she got. The inside of the restaurant was very nice. My son particularly loved the fish tank and looking at the fish while we waited for our food, they did not mind him getting up and just staring at it. Granted there was very few people in the restaurant. Some places seem tolerate kids while they seem to really enjoy him being there. If I was in the area again that would definitely come back. The noodles seemed very fresh however and I could tell it seemed to made well, it was just the wrong order. I returned and they redid my order and unfortunately the chicken pad see ew was completely overcooked and dry. The noodles were stuck together, the sauce had been overly reduced and dried up, and the chicken was very dry and overcooked as well. Was in Bridgewater NJ today and was recommended to this restaurant instead of Seasons in Bridgewater Commons for a change. I was a bit concerned that most reviews of this location were under the name of "Thai Kitchen II", and not "The Thai". However, the reason for the name change is not important. Apparently it's the same owners and the same menu. Once I knew that, I was comfortable ordering the duck noodles which were fantastic. Also did chicken satay skewers, also fantastic, and the peanut sauce was superb. Without a baseline of what 1-5 spicy means here, went with 3, and it was plenty tingly. My colleague also got 3 and thought the spice level was a bit hotter than other 3's he's ordered here before. Besides the food being incredible, and the dining room being very nice, what I also loved about this place is that the kitchen runs out the food when it is ready, nice and hot, directly to your table, without having to wait for the server to figure out when to run food. Ordered some delivery through door dash while I was at work and boy was this the pick me up I needed at lunch time! I ordered the Pad See Ew with pork, no veggies and level 4 spicy with an order of Thai Spring Rolls and extra peanut sauce. The spring rolls were so tasty, with both the sauce they came with and the peanut sauce, the peanut sauce was sooooo goooooood. The flavor and spice of the noodles was so good, however, if you like spicy stuff, don't hold back, just go for level 5! One drawback was that the noodles at the end were a bit clumped together, however, it didn't affect the taste at all. I love the Thai food from here! Despite having a reservation we got a corner round table right next to the kitchen door with some of us locked down along the wall. Their namesake sister concern didn't have a reservation so we were referred to this location . Some of the members in our group had tried the food at the other location and were sold on it, thus the decision to try this spot and were they taken by surprise! Nothing other than the restaurant name & drunken noodles was anything comparable to the other location. In general too, food was mediocre and didn't stand out as authentic or great tasting. I got the Pad Thai and loved it. I would order it again. Red curry didn't offer any pop of Thai flavors. No lemongrass , galangal or kaffir lime was pronounced. The Tom yum soup was not bad though was overcrowded wth veggies & tofu . I like more broth in m6 soup and less meat & veggies. Couple of other items that I liked were , roti canai & fried spring rolls which had a nice sauce and dip respectively , . Steamed dumpling was very fishy and so was the Sea food sizzler. I have always loved this place. My go to spot for Thai food! I very disappointed with my recent to-go meal. I ordered Pla Koong, under the salad section of the menu. This meal is essentially shrimp and vegetables "over a bed of lettuce". This meal costs $15.95. The portion size is ridiculously small and overpriced, you can see the white of the container on the bottom, untouched! A head of lettuce costs less than $2 from the store, please include more of it. Lunch special 'Mee Siam' which is stir fried thin rice noodles w/ 2 shrimp and thinly sliced pork, curry powder, bell pepper, onions, mushrooms and scallions was delectable. I always go with number 5 heat in hopes of a bathroom experience for days after, but it didn't meat my burning desire, lol. The flavor of the curry combined with the veggies and more so the pork because only 2 shrimp found their way on my plate, the dish was quite satisfying at $9.95. The place is cute yet a bit too dark with just under 20 four top tables. Clean and friendly service. So, why only 3 stars you ask? For me Tom Yum soup is a staple and if you can't get that right I have a hard time getting past it and don't get me wrong the main dish was tasty, but again they did not meet my heat standards even after I requested it so, I have to reduce my rating for now. Their food is bursting with flavor and spices that are incomparable to any other Thai spot I've tried. I do have to admit that I love their Pad Kee Mao so much that the only way I will even CONSIDER ordering something else is if someone else at the table is getting the PKM so I can pick off of theirs. It's so savory and delectable... love at first bite! I order the veg with tofu (no mushrooms!). Let me tell you, I usually don't even like tofu or broccoli, but I'm literally devouring them off the plate. The onions, peppers and BABY CORN are also bomb dot com! Perfect noodle to veggies/tofu combo and they never skimp out on the basil or baby corn like other places! The way that everything's sautéed together in their heavenly sauce and spices is mouthwateringly delicious! Spice levels sometimes vary, and I don't feel like it's as spicy as many other spots... most days at least. But you could always ask for a side of their hot sauce. Delicious if you mix it into your dish just right! There are countless Thai restaurants in the area, but we always prefer to make the 40 minute drive for Thai Kitchen II when we can because we've been spoiled by the consistently delicious food. It tasted more like a plain salad with peanuts. I love peanuts so I still thought it was good. For dinner I ordered the mango chicken. That was just ok/decent. The breading was soggy, and the sweet and sour mango sauce needed more Thai flavor. It could of used more sauce too to make it tastier. For dessert was the mousse cake which was good. The food was just bad, I ordered Pra Raam which is usually a good dish. It was full of oil and just looked like slop which I could not eat. Hands down the worst Thai I have ever had. I paid my bill because I was not happy with the food and gave a small tip because of that just to be nice.
