My experiences working with a new massage therapist have not always been positive, however, today was absolutely amazing!! Jack was my massage therapist... Professional, extremely knowledgeable, super sweet and my entire experience was brilliant! The atmosphere is pleasant and quiet while everything was immaculate! I seriously just had the most amazing couples massage today from the brand new spa close to my house Thai Villa Spa. The place is absolutely beautiful, calming unique and clean. It was not busy when we arrived. So we picked the "Rose room" for our massage. ( they have rose, jasmine, orchid and lavender) Our therapists are in Thai style uniforms, my massage was pretty deep and strong pressure which I wanted. She fixated on the places I felt needed more work, and she knew many techniques for loosening my muscles that felt GREAT. She could also tell what places needed more attention than others without me saying. The Thai Villa massage was excellent. It included massage, and assisted stretches with hot stones and water. I learned of Thai Villa Spa from a flier that came in the mail. The flier looked nice and offered a promotion: 20% off for any massage services. Since the spa is located on the back of 169 Adams St. in Newtown which is close to where I live I decided to give them a call to ask about their services. They recommend their signature Thai Villa Massage and I made an appointment with them for an hour massage for last Sunday. It took me only a few minutes to drive to the spa. Their driveway can be easy to miss but it's right across from the Adams Street Shul. They have a big parking lot, so it was no problem to park. The Spa looked nice and inviting from the outside. As I stepped inside there was a welcoming small lobby area with nice pillows on a bench. I was immediately greeted by the staff all of whom were dressed in uniforms reminiscent of traditional Thai style clothing. I was invited into a larger lobby beautifully styled with what looked like handmade wood and color glass decorations. The staff offered me to take a tour of the spa. The entire place is magnificently decorated, it left me speechless! I have never seen any spa look like this before. When I asked about the décor, the staff told me that all the decorations were made in and imported from Thailand. Even though I have never been to Thailand I imagine this is what the spas there look like. The spa has four massage rooms all named after flowers: Jasmine, Rose, Lavender, and Orchid. They also have a room for a couple's massage. All the rooms looked amazing with unique art on the walls. The sheets on the massage tables looked nice and clean. I ended up picking the Lavender room - a cozy room with one single massage table and very pleasant calming music being paled in the background. I got a female massage therapist name Jessie. She was very courteous and the massage was deep and strong - a combination of different techniques. I felt very relaxed for the whole hour. After many hours of work the massage really helped me feel revitalized. I will recommend their service to my friends and family. They will love this place and the great massage therapists: they have both male and female therapists. I will definitely come back and try their candle massage - it sounds interesting. I loved this place and still have many more massages to try. They are new but I bet they'll get very busy soon. Undoubtedly, Thai Villa Spa is a welcome addition to my Newton neighborhood. I got my first prenatal massage here (special price $70/hour). I needed a break from work and my body has been aching since being six months pregnant. I decided to search for a place near my job and came upon this gem! They offer a nice promotion if you come in between 10:00am-2:00pm on weekdays! I came here around noon and it was really quiet. They have a small parking lot in front of their place so it's great that I don't have to find street parking. When I walked in, it was a nice, warm feel. They took me a room, although the bed was heated, the room was still cold so I wished the room was a bit warmer. It was my first time getting a prenatal massage so I wasn't sure what to expect as I know that I can lay on my stomach. She had me lay on the side and had a pillow against me, which was actually quite comfortable. In the beginning, she kept talking to me although I didn't want to be rude, but I really just wanted to relax and not have a conversation. I think after 15 minutes in, she knew that I just wanted a quiet massage. Overall, the massage itself was nice, I fell asleep probably the last 10-15 minutes. I wished she was able to massage a bit deeper but I understand because being pregnant, she cannot add that much pressure. After the massage, I took my time to get dress and met her downstairs with a nice hot tea - she remember to give me decaffeinated so I thought that was really sweet of her! There is a long driveway and you may think you're in the wrong place, but drive on back and you will see the Villa. I met the owner Jack on arriving, he was very pleasant and welcoming. The spa is immaculately clean, quiet, and everyone was very friendly. Tammie was my massage therapist, and I had the 90 minute thai villa massage which was a combination of massage techniques such as walking on you (trust me it's amazing), hand work, stretching, and hot stone. My wife and I enjoy getting massages at Thai Villa: we have gone their twice and have been happy about our experiences there. The standard massage is a combination of deep tissue, acupressure, hot stone, and Thai styles (the latter involving fairly aggressive stretches and also the massage therapists applying pressure by standing on your muscles, if you request medium-to-strong pressure like me). They get through a lot in an hour, although you can extend the massages to 90 minutes if desired. The staff is very nice, and the rooms feel cozy and peaceful. The spa itself is tucked away down a driveway (lined by a white picket fence) off Adams Street: it's easy to miss if you're not actively looking for it. We'll definitely keep going back! read more

I was referred here by my boss, between the two of us we've been all over this area looking for a great massage. I walked in to Thai Villa Spa and was greeted immediately. The woman at the reception desk was so sweet. I didn't have an appt and asked for Tata. Luckily she was available 20 min later! It's so beautiful in the spa. The decor is breathtaking and It feels very calm and peaceful. I had a 1 hour Thai Villa massage. She is so strong you'd be amazed. She worked out so many knots I think my shoulders dropped a few inches. She walked on my back, and she asked if the pressure was ok which I appreciate. I can't say enough it was so wonderful. My ONLY complaint is that the room was very cold was I was covered by a very thin sheet. Everyone is extremely nice and accommodating. They have a $65 deal for massages M-F before 2pm. Relaxing music played while I had the Thai massage, which is a combo of a deep tissue massage, hot stone massage and stretching (like what you would have during a physical therapy session). Last week I received the "Thai Villa" massage from Jack. It was by far the BEST, most therapuetic massage I've EVER had in my life. He has truly magic healing hands! He intuitively knew exactly what I needed without me even having to ask or direct him. He focused on my problem areas just the right amount and applied the perfect amount of pressure.
