Menu needs better entre descriptions. Server was no help when we asked about ingredients and heat factor.

One of the worst experiences Ive had trying a new restaurant. Lets start off with arrival. Walked…read morein was not greeted just was asked for 2? Then was told to sit anywhere. Ok fine, went and found a seat and was brung water which was not cold and without ice. No ice?? Wth. That was the first strike. Moving along decided to get a canned pepsi no cup no ice also no straw. Cmon now!!! Second strike. Lets continue. So the waiter which was the same guy that sat us. Came over with a pad and just stared at us. Before I continue I must say he gave a cold feeling like he didn't want to serve us. Which made me feel uncomfortable but I digress. He took our orders and when I went to give my order I said what I wanted and he shook his head at me afterwards. Now heres the thing your cold not welcoming and customer service is down right terrible!!! Thats one thing you need when you have a business, but who am I? Let's move on to food. Smh ok so you have the audacity to charge the prices you do for those small portions! I got the goat and it was two pieces in it and a chunk of fat! For 17 bucks? third strike. My expectations were high but were let down unfortunately. The inside seemed ok semi clean a few cosmetic issues but it is what it was. I hope the service and portion size gets better over time I rarely leave ratings like this but my visit here was awful. Be better.

It's been far too many years since my previous visit to this place…read more But last night I ended that. A sudden wave of needing a spicy curry or vindaloo overcame my emotions. Next thing I knew I was in the parking lot and searching for Swagat. Because it was a Monday night it had only 3-4 tables of customers, so my order was ready before I was even thinking about it taking too long. The service was very friendly and personable as well. Suggestions were made while I was trying to decide what the last Indian dish I last had, and I'm relieved he suggested what he did. Vindaloo. Spicy beef and make it your top spice level. He started to caution me, but I was very intent about my capsaicin intake. Dall was me secondary items, yellow, and only at the middle point for heat. Plain naan. Very simple and direct. Upon returning home the scent was enormously delicious and inviting. The delicate long grain rice was perfectly cooked and such a subtle item to be actually a star on the dish, rather than a simple starch to take up space. Potatoes were large and delicate while firm. Beef, velvety soft and still not losing its texture. The yellow lentils were a bit different than I'd expected. I last enjoyed them ages ago and my recall was that they still held some of their form. These were cooked further down, not in an unpleasant or overly aggressive manner, just different than I was expecting. Delicious. Beautifully colorful, saffron(?) I'm unsure. Naan. Another item that deserves a starring role in a meal. This was far better than any of the recent times at either of the two nearby Indian restaurants that I've been spending more time than I now think I plan to in the coming months and years. Tonight I'm enjoying the food from last nights dinner. Should've taken some pics. But take out meals aren't artfully prepared. So they don't really matter anyway.

A hard, beetle-shaped thing that I bit in the vegetable biryani. It appeared to have antennae, but could've been a fruit.
