The best Indian restaurant I've been to in/near Madison! The service was extremely quick, and there was a lot of seating. Well-decorated and they were playing some Indian shows as entertainment. Their chutney was really flavorful. I got the chicken mango curry with medium spice, but it could have been spicier. For dessert, I tried the rasamalai and it was really good and flavorful. It was a bit florally which caught me off guard since I didn't expect that.

We sampled the mixed grill and the ubiquitous Chicken Tikki Marsala. We also had an order of garlic naan. Everything was really really good. The service was fantastic. As we left the host who may have been the owner was incredibly gracious and kind to my father and I as we left - thanking us for visiting his restaurant and asking us how everything was... inviting us to come back soon. I'm very happy to have Amber in the neighborhood. After many years this part of Middleton is beginning to feel like a real neighborhood again with proper local amenities. Check out the ample menu and great service at Amber. I think you'll be happy with your experience.

One of the best Indian cuisine's around the campus, while it is a bit far from campus, it is definitely worth it. They have weekend buffets and it's all you can eat !! The quality of food is unbeatable and the price as well!! The servers are really friendly.

This is the best Indian restaurant I tried in Madison. I took out dinner from here. Garlic naan was good as always. Kashmiri naan is a good variety to try with fruits and sweet things stuffed in it. Shahi navarathna korma and lasooni gobi are excellent vegetarian items to try. Hyderabadi chicken biryani was and lamb chettinadu were good non veg items I tried. Papadam was good as well.

It appears the sit down bar area wasn't a very big draw to the drinking crowd, as it's no longer a thing. The liquor is still available and right where it was, but the bar seating is not. A last minute decision to get myself something that I've not had enough of lately, namely chicken and rice. I've been on a diligently followed seafood and vegetable diet for around 5-6weeks with only one previous deviation when pizza was demanding my attention and consumption. Chicken breasts are all too often overcooked and tonight I was amazed at the consistency and texture of the white meat in my vindaloo dish. I can't recall the last time I've been served such a well prepared chicken breast! The HOT spiciness I was assured, was precisely as promised. The last time I received what I was told would be a above the typical level of fire, I was sorely disappointed when I took a few bites and it never registered to the receptors in my mouth or brain that any sensation of pain was ever going to arrive. Tonight the capsaicin was delivered and my body and brain are again in a state of heightened bliss. The garlic naan was a little of a (only superficially) let down. It's short confinement in the aluminum foil made it a bit too 'damp'. Damp isn't the correct word, but it's the word I'm stuck on. The bread was very tasty and tender, but the steamy conditions inherent when sealed inside a non porous package essentially make this an issue with no real alternative. One of the very types of reasons I will NEVER rely on grub hub or it's kind. While I maintain that ethic for nearly any food item that I'd have such a place deliverer to me, I suppose Chinese food would be the sole exception. Cold Chinese food is still a must in my opinion. But that's not really relevant to tonight. Amber is still perhaps my favorite restaurant in this immediate area.

We had few if any expectations but wow for a take out joint, it's exactly what you'd expect and hope for. No it's not authentic in a Chinese culinary way... but it's completely authentic in an American Chinese take out experience. The Sesame noodles were awesome - lip smacking, tasty, and burning... clinched Ling Pow Chicken was decent. The pan fired dumplings completely serviceable. I'm glad we rediscovered this neighborhood Chinese take out joint.

The last two orders were not hot and fresh, they don't bother the read any instructions any more and the quality of the food is just so bad now. The sweet and sour chicken tasted fishy. The chicken lowmein is just dry noodles with some onions and bad tasting slimy chicken pieces. The pork egg rolls were soft and mushy and the hot and sour soup mimics preset jello. My daughter laughed as it jiggled. I would not recommend ordering from here until they relearn how to do Chinese food. If I were the owner, I would be embarrassed for this to represent me. Before it went in the dumps- The place is clean, the service is great and the food is always made to order. SO, it's always hot, fresh, and delicious. It's our go-to for great Chinese food. Would definitely recommend!

The neighborhood is nice and Sake Sushi is located in a small plaza, however I almost missed it since it is located on the side of the plaza and was not visible from the street. Inside I found an interesting mix of decor, it seems like a traditional Asian restaurant with white linen tableclothes and also some very modern touches including neon strip lighting along the ceiling and a variety of light fixtures. Overall a bit of a mishmash that would be better if they picked one style and stayed with it. I got there in the late afternoon so the place was empty at first, I was seated and given the menu which allows you to fill out what you want. The menu is fairly similar to other AYCE sushi places I have been at. Of note is that at dinner you can order up to 15 pieces of sashimi without an extra charge. I ordered a nice selection of sashimi, some sushi, a couple of different maki rolls, the salmon skin salad and the seafood soup. Interestingly the sashimi and sushi came out first, then the maki rolls, then the soup and salad. The sashimi was very good, fresh with nice sized pieces; the nigiri sushi had a nice portion of seafood to rice. I was a bit disappointed with the seafood soup, just a bit under seasoned and too much bean sprouts. The salmon skin salad was excellent with nicely roasted smoked salmon skin mixed with a bit of eel sauce, delicious, crunchy and one of my favorites that you don't see everywhere. I also enjoyed the scallops sashimi, large fresh raw scallops with a nice delicate flavor and texture. The maki rolls were good as well, nicely sized with plenty of filling. I did really enjoy the Super Lobster Roll with shrimp tempura, cucumbers, avocado then topped with lobster salad; the lobster salad was a nice treat, although I think it was made with lagostino lobsters it was still tasty. I also liked their version of spider roll, the soft shell crab was crispy and flavorful. I enjoyed my meal at Sake Sushi, dinner was $30 for all you can eat. The sushi and sashimi were very good, of course not quite the same quality as the best sushi bars but pretty close. Service was good and there are plenty of choices, including noodle dishes, fried rice, hibachi and tempura. The decor is a bit of a miss, but nothing that will keep you from enjoying your meal. Well worth a try if you are hungry and feel like some sushi and Japanese food.

We dined…read morehere because we were visiting the water park and had the all inclusive package, which meant we got to eat at the buffet at no extra charge. The idea sounded really good, but after having dinner there two nights in a row the very thought of even smelling the food in there again made me feel nauseous. They boast that they have "live action" stations where you can have food prepared for you on the spot. The whole term, "live action station" made me think I might see people in lab coats looking at moving amoebas and other bacteria under a microscope. The truth is they are just areas where chefs who looked thoroughly bored and underpaid for such torture, fry up some pasta in a pan and serve it to the fifty people standing in line for it I don't know what the food at the "live action" stations was like, because I refused to wait in line for an hour at a buffet. But maybe I should have because.............. The rest of the food was pretty sad. The young kid we had with us loved it because they had school lunch specials there like smiley face potatoes, mini corn dogs, popcorn chicken, and spaghetti-O's!! Yay, happy fun time. Everything really was soggy, mushy, with rice filler, or strange sauces that made you think, "what the hell is this?" Even the pizza was soggy from sitting there for too long under the heat lamps. Since this is a buffet, the idea is that you help yourself. But you still have a waiter who is SUPPOSED to bring your drinks and refills thereafter. However, every time we ate there our waiter stopped by once and then disappeared only to return at the end to give you the form you had to sign as part of the all inclusive deal. On one particular night we stopped our busy waitress as she tried to run by, and asked about dessert. The buffet sucked balls so hard we thought, "hey maybe the dessert will save us." NOT. The waitress looked appalled that we asked about it. There was no dessert bar or anything like that at the buffet, instead they bring around a tray and you select what you want from the different slices of desserts. My dining companion and the kid chose cheesecake. They were teeny tiny little slices and when I asked how they tasted dining companions didn't have much to say. So it must have been mushy, flavorless crap just like the rest of the buffet. There was a lot of strangeness here. Despite the soggy, mushy, mess they served, it was awfully stinky for being so flavorless. The only thing that was nice about this place was the decor. I've heard they charge 25 dollars per person for the dinner buffet, but in reality I think they should be paying you 25 dollars to stay away so you won't give them a shitty review like this one.

It's in the Chula Vista resort, by the registration desk. Nice looking restaurant, looks good. Server was very attentive, helpful, came back frequently to check on us, answered questions easily (and correctly). Now, the not so good stuff. Way overpriced at $21.96 per person, plus 11.99 per pound if you wanted crab legs, which are not included on the buffet. Food was mediocre, some dishes had not been refreshed for a while and were pretty dried out. When fresh pans were brought out, it looked like they were probably sitting under warmers in the kitchen, as they also looked dried out, particularly the BBQ ribs. Pizza, spaghetti were both dry. Cod was moist however, and my wife said it was good. Bottom, for the price, would have expected better.
