First time in a decade eating here. We ordered the crying tiger, pad see ew, crispy tofu and egg rolls to go. Service was good for a to go order (other than point #1.) The ambiance in there is simple, cute, calm - the chairs surprisingly comfortable. 1. They forgot the egg rolls 2. The sauce for the crying tiger is nothing like any other crying tiger sauce we've ever tasted (not in a good way)... so what's their crying tiger dish without the sauce - just plain steak.... but it's nicely grilled and cut. 3. Their pad see ew look great - but then... the noodles taste like I'm holding my tongue but the taste is off, and not like the yummy Pad See Ew I've gotten many other places. 4. Fried Tofu was the best thing we ordered and I love that they give peanuts with the fried tofu... all I can say is, I'm so glad we didn't go for the Pad Thai , because the peanuts make that dish everything - and the peanut here, are stale and taste rancid. 5. Green Thai Tea with Boba - the worst (most soggy, boba ever, it literally falls apart in your mouth). Soooo unfortunately, we will not be returning. I was surprised it wasn't busier on a Friday night during prime dinner hour but it might be because the restaurant itself is hidden in the back of a strip mall and not visible from the street. We were greeted warmly and chose a nice booth. We ordered a few things to share including Tom Kha soup, Chicken Satay, Pad Thai and Pad See Ew. The soup was excellent. I often use this soup as a benchmark of how good a Thai restaurant is and this one hit the right marks. The satay was nice, though the meat bordered on dry, the curse of using breast meat. But the peanut sauce took care of that. The Pad Thai was decent, not my favorite, but passable. The Pad See Ew was similar, nothing to write home about, but a decent dish. The yellow curry has been a lot better the last few times I have been here. Before it was a bit watery, but now its much more rich and spiced. We usually come here late night and they are always helpful. They have a nice outdoor patio along the shopping center which is a plus for us, since we have food allergies and the boiling soups inside can be a problem. Parking was not easy to find the day I went - The lot was pretty full but I later saw a bunch of people coming out of what looked like a Pilates or yoga class. You can sit either inside or outside and service is pretty fast. They have a bunch of curries, salads, chicken, beef, soup, rice and noodle dishes. They also have a lunch menu M-F from 11 am - 2:45 pm and is not valid on Holidays. I got their yellow curry lunch special and it comes with soup or salad with rice and an egg roll for $14.95. I got their soup, which was tangy and sour but the flavor was really good. There was chunks of mushrooms, tomatoes and beef. The broth was light. I really enjoyed it. It looks spicy but I didn't think it was. Their yellow curry was good. mild in flavor, but the veggies were really crunchy. Like undercooked. However, maybe this was by design because their potatoes were soft and fully cooked. The egg roll was hot and crispy when I got it and not super greasy. We've been coming here for maybe 10yrs. The food used to be great and the service was excellent. But we have had bad experiences the last few times we have been. Our order has been incorrect several times and the food quality has also gone down. It's very disappointing. We ate here last night and the food was pretty flavorful. We got the Yellow Curry with chicken and we asked for mild. I'm pretty sensitive when it comes to spice level so I try to ask for no spice but since I was sharing this, we compromised on mild. It had a little kick but was enjoyable. I had the leftovers for dinner tonight. The service was pretty good until the end. They were almost closed so I'm assuming the staff was prepping for closing in the back because we had to get up and ask for the server for rice and drink refills. I ordered a 2 on a scale of 1 to 5 for hotness, and it was pretty darn hot. The Mongolian chicken was seasoned and cooked to perfection. Service was very fast and could not have been more friendly. They initially brought out the wrong appetizer but took it back and got us the Rangoon but ended up bringing it out with our food. We got Pad See Ew and Drunken noodles. Got my drunken at 2.5/5 spice level which was great for me. Since my tolerance has went down. All the food was great and they were constantly checking in on us. The ambience was nice, there were numerous groups when we showed up but slowly left while we were there. Which was nice and made it more peaceful atmosphere. Unfortunately, it had no spice to it even after requesting it to be, but the flavor itself was good enough to overlook that. The plate had the option to come with the soup of the day or a side salad, and I chose the soup of the day. They gave me salad instead which was sad because I wanted to try the soup, but it's alright. Maybe next time. I will say, they have the best eggrolls I've ever tried. The chicken chili hot basil was bland and not much to rave about. Good portion size but would not get again. Go with the Chicken Satay instead. After a long day and week, we decided to order take out and dine in and this place popped up! I went through the menu and few items caught my eye. We ordered the summer fresh rolls, the crab rice, the tender beef salad, yellow curry and the seafood soup! The gentleman that took our order over the phone was very friendly and polite. My husband after 20 mins went over and picked up the food and he did mention the vibe and the ambiance were amazing! Next time we will go back and actually dine in. The food actually slapped! The soup was just what my body and soul needed! The flavors the seafood everything was fresh and so good! The restaurant was clean and well lighted. My wife had the Pad Woorsen while I enjoyed the Pad See ew. Both were delicious. As always, the portions are sufficient to plan on leftovers.
