Pros: Good food, fair pricing, clean dining room. Cons: Chopsticks are only provided upon request. Can get loud, service is not warm and inviting. It feels like they just want high turn over and not interested in ensuring that customers feel welcomed. With all that said, we still come back periodically. I recommend the orange chicken and green beans.

    Piece of metal

I found a piece of metal in my fried rice when I was chewing and I spit it out. It's from their brushes they use to clean their woks with. Will not be back which is unfortunate because the food was good but not taking the risk of swallowing a piece of metal brush.

The best Chinese food in town. I am ashamed that I don't have pictures of their great food. Our favorites: filet mignon French style, wor wonton soup, crispy orange chicken, beef lo mein, and house special fried rice. Recently we've been ordering delivery and service is pretty amazing. Nicely packaged and food is still hot. We've eaten here before, I found that the staff are just so kind and friendly. Place is cozy and warm.

We were also craving the spicy green beans, the perfect blend of crunchy and tender, spicy with the perfect touch of sweet! Be sure to consider some of our other favorites: the hand made chow mein (noodles alive and freshly made), the beef is simply crazy tender and lovely, ANY of the vegetables and tofu, and all their soups are to die for. They make their own ginger ale; but if you are wanting to boost your immunity or simply avoid the sugar syrup, I paid for a ginger ale but requested just the ginger juice (super hot and strong), and drank half and chased it with my diet coke and poured the rest in my soda for a ginger diet coke with lemon (yum). To the point where we almost walked out (we couldn't flag anyone down & no one looked our way). We ordered Mapo Tofu w/Crab, Xiao Long Bao's, Pickled Cucumbers, Scallion Pancake, Fried Dumplings. Everything tasted super yummy, my favorite was the scallion pancake bc it was on the crispy side!! We'd love to come back again and try and hopefully have better service. Bc the food is super delicious and made up for the lack thereof in service.

Part of the AADvantage dining program, we decided to give it a try for 5x the miles. Upon arriving, there were only a couple of customers at the bar. The bartender told us to take a seat anywhere we liked. He gave us a couple of menus and then our server popped out of nowhere and was as sweet as can be. We asked about the vodka cocktail prices as they're not listed on their menus and she ended up quoted us the happy hour pricing by accident and was very apologetic. We started off by ordering our well cocktails (still reasonable at 8 bucks each for non happy hour pricing) as well as the (mild) green beans and veggie egg rolls. Both were very hot, fresh, and tasty. Next up were the entrees: Kung pao chicken and added brown rice for 1.00 and Mongolian beef with white rice. Both entrees were large and very tasty. Service was excellent with plenty of indoor seating and it appeared that there was plenty outdoor as well. Definitely my new fave Chinese restaurant as there aren't any really good Chinese restaurants IMO in the LBC. The only tricky thing is the location as it's tucked away in the corner. I also used a voucher from Clipper via Groupon for 30.00 worth of food and drink for 15.00, so an extra perk on top as well.

Pad See ew had such a good wok fry essence. So flavorful, and perfect blend of savory and slight sweetness. Chinese broccoli nicely wok fried. The shrimp was jumbo and so succulent. Salmon Larb was perfectly cooked with fried cubes of juicy flavorful salmon. Tossed in fresh mint, cilantro, scallions, a ton of fresh lime juice, chili flakes, red onions and lettuce. The toasted rice powder was definitely apparent as every Larb dish should have. Slightly different take of Larb, bit more modernized and tweaked cause definitely a salad with the lettuce versus served with the cabbage and cucumber on the side. I don't think you can go wrong with what you order. Definitely fusion of authentic with a modernized American feel. Cocktails were excellent and recommend their Tamarind Spicy drink, don't remember the name but it was so good. When neither of us feels like cooking, the decision has already been made before either of us says a word: Rim Talay time! The food is consistently outstanding whether you're dining in or grabbing takeout (which we admittedly do... a lot). Their Pad See Ew is hands-down one of our favorite comfort meals in Long Beach, the Khao Soi is rich, deeply flavorful, and something we find ourselves craving regularly, and the mango sticky rice is a non-negotiable. My boyfriend usually hates 99% of mango sticky rice dishes, but he loves their recipe! We've tried plenty of Thai restaurants over the years, but Rim Talay keeps pulling us back. Beyond the food, what makes Rim Talay so special is the people behind it. It's family-owned and operated by the Paiboolsilp/Takaeo family, and you can genuinely feel the care they put into both the food and the hospitality. Supporting a local family business that consistently delivers this level of quality just feels good. Long Beach has plenty of great places to eat, but Rim Talay has earned a permanent spot in our tummies. Some restaurants become favorites. This one became a tradition.

Would have been nice to know before we were taken to our table. Okay, get over it (strike 1). Several minutes later same server returns and asks if we were ready to order. We agreed on a appetizer (curry puffs). Ive had them multiple times at this restaurant. What she brings are wantons with curried potato inside. When I told the server that was not what I ordered, she then proceeds to tell me that is a curry puff. Looked me dead in my eyes and told me that. Aye!!! Like I don't know what a curry puff is. Instead of lying to my face, just tell me, you don't have any, or I don't deserve to have anything I would like to order; just accept what I give you. (strike 2). The third and final strike was when a couple enters and asks her if they could dine in with their very furry, but admittedly adorable dog. She tells them yes. We were not the only ones shocked. She never bothered to ask any of us patrons if we were okay with it. Personally, I DO NOT like animal fur with my meals. I have and love dogs, but sometimes they just need to be left at home. At any rate, wifey and I asked for the check to pay for our fake curry puffs and left. NOPE, would not recommend this place.

We went with a couple of our favorite dishes to run along and the Chicken Lo Mein was pretty good. Crispy pieces of chicken and soft noodles and veggies to go with it. We chose to get Mongolian Beef and it was absolutely fantastic. Crispy celery, green onions and decent sized pieces of meat in a terrific sauce. I would love to try to replicate that. My wife wanted a shrimp dish so she ordered the honey walnut and it even looked good to me when they brought it. She loves egg rolls, so she got a four piece and said they were pretty good. If it's busy, it can feel pretty cramped, and you'll probably have to squeeze between tables and chairs to get around. If it's not crowded though, it's much easier to move around. The service was fast, which I appreciated. The only downside was the food runner who brought out our meals. He wasn't very friendly and kind of just set the plates down wherever there was space, even on top of the plates we were already using. It felt a little careless and took away from an otherwise good experience. Overall, the food was definitely the highlight, but because of that experience with the service, it'll probably be a while before I come back.
