We visited Thali on nov 1 for dinner. It was our first time here. I ordered the chicken biryani and my husband ordered the veg thali. Everything was delicious. I would def recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for quality Indian food. It is one of the better Indian restaurants we have eaten at in the RTP area and so glad it is very near to Brier Creek. We will def be back!! read more

This place is not what it says. I have been there 4 time just make sure it was not an odd event. Boiled food and then added pre-prepaired sauce that is half Chinese and half sort of Indian. Not sure who is writing the reviews. Either they have never tasted good Indian food or are friends of the restaurant. I have not tasted this kind of food in Delhi or Lahore or LA. Terrible. I have never had Kabob that is drenched in sauce! It defeats the meaning. Very disappointed with the price and quality. read more

My coworkers and I decided to try this restaurant today after reading some very mixed reviews. I'm so happy that we did. The buffet was full of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. The service was excellent from the moment we entered and checked out. My favorite dishes were the Channa Masala, Kadai paneer, and royal dal makhani. The gulab jamoon(already warmed ) on the buffet paired with the kheer is a must to save room for! I will definitely be coming back for lunch and returning with my husband for dinner! read more

Ok, so sometimes we order in advance so food is ready when we get there. Other times, we order takeout. This WAS my hubbie's favorite Indian food in area. [Emphasis on the "was."] We noticed the taste of the food changed maybe five weeks ago. Not as good as before. We figured there must be a new cook. Then three weeks ago we got take out and found hair in the naan. We didn't complain. Last night we got takeout (ordered in advance, drove 25 minutes to pick up, then 25 minutes back home) only to find bones in the chicken biryani. now the bones looked like they'd been picked clean (eaten from) another had a chunk out of it (bite mark?) so we called to complain. We then had to drive 25 minutes to pick up a new order and 25 minutes back home. We asked for our money back, but the restaurant insisted on a new order. That's right folks, we were dumb enough to spend almost two hours for our Indian food with no discount, no compensation for our inconvenience. Highly unlikely we will return. read more

Warning, my 4 star review is basically others 5 star review. It has to be really special. Super special to get the 5th star. Buffet had meat and veg options and a naan basket delivered to the table (very fresh). No samosa like at sai Krishna bhavan or tower. The selections of meat and veg dishes were about 4 each so not a huge selection for veg only people. Price was reasonable for an RTP Indian buffet, 10.75 with tax. It was pretty busy (was open 1 week when we visited) but with a quick table turnover, clean, reset. A couple people waited about 5 mins for a table. Food was good with the right amount of spice and pretty good variety. They didn't have my favorites bit had one dal dish, one paneer dish, couple veg dishes. But. One whole tray of samosas. Very nice. Will be back for lunch when I have a light breakfast and don't plan on eating dinner. read more

I don't know where to start... the food was mind blowing!! From the perfect blend of flavors to the soft paneer . The best paneer I have had in the RTP area ... hands down! Just tried takeout from this place for the first time during lunch. $11.25 for a Styrofoam box (fill up as much as you want), bread (bagged separately) and a small container (for dessert). The host could tell we were confused and explained all of the food and buffet to us. He was really nice and patient with us. You can tell he is great at his job. The food was AMAZING. I tried one of everything, whether I knew what it was or not. The place has a really cool feel to it. The buffet looked hot, fresh and neat. Very clean looking. The restaurant itself was clean and had nice, unique decorations. My favorites were the Chicken Tikka Masala, Palak Paneer(tastes like creamed spinach but the spinach is flavorful and pureed), yellow lemon rice and samosas (flavorful and really soft potatoes inside). I didn't really care for the Tandoori Chicken. It just seemed bland but everything else was packed with flavor. I can't wait to bring others here. read more

Tried this strip center Indian restaurant for takeout dinner during the quarantine. Ordered the meat thali for two. I knew from the weight of my bag at pick-up that there would be ample food for two or three nights' dinners. It smelled so good in the car that I couldn't wait to get to my friends house. Every item, especially the butter chicken, the tandoori chicken, the raita, the nan , and the mint chutney exceeded expectation. The only skimpy servings were the two honey balls--one for each thali. What can I say, the food is great here! We routinely eat at Thali and love their chicken tikka as well as the paneer dishes. Location is great for us and even though we have around 4 or 5 Indian spots close by to choose from we always gravitate to Thali. Impeccable service and always thinking of the customer. In fact, during the last snowfall in Raleigh (2/20) the power went out while our order was being prepared, but the staff still continued to cook and complete our order (in the dark!) and it was as tasty as ever! read more

It's a shame in a $45.00 order the best is a $3.00 naan. Rest deserve a BIG 0 star. Sorry Mr. Owner, if you want return customers, you better serve food that's value for the money. We ordered Sukka Mutton(apt), Chicken 65(apt), Chilli Naan, Garlic Naan and chicken tikka masala. Sukka Mutton is 80% bones or fat and inedible. Scratch it. Chicken 65 is so so. Chilli Naan is actually pretty good. Garlic Naan is too garlicy and hard. Chicken tikka masala is a rip off for $13, the amount given is so low and tasteless it's not worth mentioning. Would I return to this place? Chances are next to zero. Sorry, but this is not the way to earn money. I just wish i can give you 0.5 stars. read more

The one word that describes the food here is "Pathetic". Either you are asking a south Indian chef to prepare north Indian dishes or vice versa. The outcome is horrible. They really need to improvise on their standards and come with alternatives to attract more people to come and enjoy the food rather than just merely making business. I have nothing nice to say about this place. We went on a weekday evening, and while there were other customers, the place was far from busy. The wait for everything, from being seated to being provided the menu and to have our orders taken was extremely long. We ordered two Thali's assuming it would mean lesser wait time, what a mistake that was. It took more than 45 minutes for us to get our food. We were told that because there was a larger group, their order was prioritized - we were clearly made to feel like unwanted customers. When we did get the food, it turned out to be extremely salty and completely unpalatable. I will not be going back and will suggest you use your hard earned money to go to one of the places that treats its customers better. read more
