Pad Thai was delicious! Friendly service and quick! Restaurant was clean and good atmosphere. Will definitely be returning!

My family visited during lunch on a weekday. The service is great as well as the food. We ordered from the menu and did not try the buffet but many patrons were taking part in the buffet so my assumption is that it was good. We ordered a appetizer sampler, pad Thai and my kids had the chicken ramen dish. The food came out piping hot and fresh. The prices are a bit expensive and the establishment is dated. There are a lot of potted plants by the entrance some of which are overgrown and others that are dying. This aspect made for a dirty appearance and a not so good first impression. My water also had some sort of debris in it, which was easily retrieved and wasn't worrisome. Overall, this is a decent place. We had plenty of leftovers for another meal later which helped with the high prices but I doubt we will frequent this restaurant as a regular. read more

This was our first venture into Thai food, and we haven't looked back ever since! When we lived in Pershing Park, this was our go-to place. Be forewarned, their spice can get REALLY HOT! We tried hot the first time and were dying! Now, we stick to medium which adds a good amount of spice but still makes the food tasty. My friend is a huge fan of their Thai iced teas too! Traveling to Killeen from the northeast and once again turned to Yelp to get suggestions for a restaurant for dinner. I always try to find small family owned restaurants as an alternative to chain places. Tham Rab Thai was exactly what I was looking for. Atmosphere was certainly not notable but the food and service was great. I've had Thai food at many good restaurants and this place is near the top of my list. If you're looking for good food at reasonable prices I would highly recommend Tham Rab. Give them a try... you won't be disappointed. read more

Sorry to say this place is not as good as most of these reviews say. The quality does not match the price. I'm not saying the food was bad or not eatible, just saying I had better Thai at the mall or at a street vendor. And who am I to judge you say? Let's just say I've spent 16 years in the business and competed in professional culinary competitions, and won. The service was great on the other hand, they were willing to explain what you were looking at as they should and would even suggest things on the menu based on your own palette. We came in to a seat yourself 2 top which took about 5 minutes to get the lady over to our table for drink orders. We ordered drinks and order the steam dumplings along with the Thom Rab Shrimp Soup along with the Masaman Chicken. The steam dumpling came out quick along with being completely cold in the middle. Not even warm on the outside. Just room temperature. The Masaman and Soup came out and my wife couldn't even bare the taste of the Soup and the Masaman had potatoes that were cold inside like the dumplings. The Masaman sauce was sweeter than I usually have and had a flour taste as if the flour hadn't been cooked out of a rue for a gumbo. They took the Soup off because my wife brought it to their attention and asked if we put Soy Sauce in it. All in all I feel like they have the potential to do a lot better. read more

My family went here. It was ok. Nothing special as other people have said. My husband liked his curry and my daughter liked her fried rice. But my son and myself ordered pad Thai. The noodles were undercooked. If I put more than 3 noodles in my mouth, I started to choke. As did my son. We had leftovers, so we took them home. Next day I warmed it up on the stove. Put some chicken stock in it and voila. The noodles were cooked and I could eat them without choking. And what's up with the couch at the front, that looks like someone sleeps there. This place never disappoints! We usually order the yellow curry with chicken, egg rolls, and combination pad Thai. Everything is delicious and the portions at large. The only bad thing that I can say is that there isn't enough rice to go with the yellow curry when we get it to go. We usually have about 4 servings of curry in one order and the rice is only enough for a little over one serving. When we are undecided for dinner this is our go to place! read more

A handwritten sign on the front door reads "now open seven days a week". However, they are apparently closed on Sundays. Another sign on the front door that lists their hours of operation has a very contradictory statement as Sunday's hours are covered in duct tape. We made lunch plans with friends for Sunday based on the hours listed on yelp. This was my first time trying Thai food. It may be a bad thing because now I think I may be spoiled, I don't think I'll will find any better Thai food, period. The service was excellent and my waitress was amazing. She directed us on what to try and the food was all excellent and they had plenty of vegetarian selections. An amazing gem in the middle of nowhere! We had a late lunch at 3 and we ended up not leaving until 5! Now that shows you we enjoyed the food, but also all of the women and talking to them. One of us spoke some Thai which made us speak to everyone longer, but everything was delicious. We had the fried fish with ginger (amazing!), pad thai with pork, and the panang curry with chicken, also with fried dumplings and spring rolls. My favourite were the fried fish and the fried chive dumplings (so different than chinese version but good). We had so many leftovers and the pad thai was great the next day as well. I don't know how many times I'll be in the area, but when I am, I will definitely go there and I know that they will remember me and be just as friendly. read more

I have never had Thai food before so I decided to try it out with my family. I had the beef glass noodles. It was okay. I wouldn't recommend it because there are way better options on the menu. The jumbo shrimp pad thai was AMAZING. We got it hot so beware: it was spicy. The portions are pretty big. The pad thai could probably feed two people. The combination fried rice as well. The meats were cut thin in the rice but it was still really good. The teriyaki beef was also a big hit. You definitely get your money's worth. Definitely eating here again. read more

Lovely. Just as in Thailand you are always greeted by a smile and great service. I like how they don't focus too hard on Pad Thai. Too many Thai restaurants go out of their way to please obese American palettes by having milder dishes covered in butter and forty different dishes with the word fried rice in the title. The street style dishes taste just like you bought it off a street cart in Bangkok on a drunken Tuesday morning, delicious and simple. I'm from Cali, and Thai back home is great, i would have to say this place is comparable as my favorite Thai restaurant back at home (Krung Thai), minus the atmosphere and the layout of the resturaunt. The food is great though. I came here with 2 of my buddies and it was their first time eating Thai food. The previous i order togo a Pad Thai, and i can say ive had better. But today i tried the beef chicken and shrimp stir fry (#40) and it was delicious with a glass of thai tea of course. And for dessert we had the mango with sticky rice. I can only give 4-stars since I've never been to Thailand to taste REAL Thai food, but stateside Tham Rab is the best I've tasted. I tried the Pad Thai and Panang Tofu. Both entrees were super-sized and had really fresh veggies. The tofu in the Pad Thai was lightly stir-fried, but it was crispier in the Panang which helped it stand up to the sauce it was in.
