Stopped into Spinners to try the King Krabz. It was definitely worth the trip. We ordered half chicken half beef nachos as a appetizer, it surely could have been our meal! Very good. For our meal we ordered the crab, shrimp, sausage, egg, potatoes, and corn with Cajun butter and spicy butter. So good. My hubby and I split all this and still brought home a hefty portion. I have been mulling over this review for a couple weeks now. The first attempt to come to this trailer was when it was on the East Side in front of the laundromat on a Friday. I double checked the night before and in the morning to make sure the location hadn't changed and left a half hour before they opened so I could get in line (per other reviews). I arrived and met my friend but, no food truck, we waited for about 10 minutes and then I checked their FB again and they had posted 20 minutes prior to open saying they wouldn't be open until 2 pm that day because they were dealing with an accident that had happened a couple weeks before. It was disappointing but, we couldn't wait so we went elsewhere. I felt they could have posted it earlier in the morning for people making the trip to eat from their trailer. The second attempt led us to their new location on the Southeast Side. The address is East Riverside Drive however, it is not actually on Riverside. It is located behind the gas station on Riverside in a small plaza where the parking lot is tight, small and busy. We were just happy to finally find them. We stood in line taking note that there wasn't any picnic tables or anywhere at all to sit down and eat so plan on taking it to go. The staff were all extremely friendly and we ordered the crab and shrimp combo with cajun seasoning (there are a couple of options) to share. The seafood is fresh and the portion size was good but, I see some major flaws. Problems: 1. You get crab legs but, you can't eat the claw because they don't give you anything to crack it with so two legs go wasted (unless you are taking it home and own crab crackers). 2. There was about an inch of butter in each box which ended up everywhere in the bag and I wish they would have told us this when we actually ordered an extra butter cut for $1.00 because we were sharing. 3. There wasn't any wet naps in the bag which I think should be in there if you are serving food you eat with your hands, especially seafood. 4. $25.00 for two crab clusters and ten shrimp is way way over priced especially if you do the math of even retail prices (which I am sure they get wholesale pricing) that was paid for everything in the boxes. 5. $1.00 for a tiny to go ramekin of butter; way too expensive 6. They advertise that you get an egg but, ours was missing. Flavor: Everything soaked and dripping in butter, topped with seasoning is going to taste good. I don't think anyone can argue that fact but, to me it's hard to justify that this place is to die for if it's just good because it's swimming in butter and seasoning. The shrimp was just ok and really reminded me of Red Lobster shrimp scampi just with bigger shrimp. The sausage was definitely a sausage you would get from a bbq place and I was really expecting andouille sausage since it's a boil situation. After all of the work to hunt this truck down twice, waiting in line and the pricing I don't think I would bother doing it again. read more
