Worst experience ever. Small booth where you sit up straight up. Place had 4 tables of about 12 people in total. Multiple people walked out because orders were taking forever. Some food came to different tables. Their excuse was their Internet was down so apparently they can't make the order. Every single table had their order wrong. Wife's crape was burnt. Coffee was not being refilled after an hour of sitting waiting for food. During check out they added 3 or 4 other dishes and few other drinks to our bill of 2 people. No discounts no hey let us make it right just flat out here is your bill our internet is down and by the way we are gonna put bunch of stuff extra on top you didn't order. So we ate at Millie and Pepper Creperie and General Store twice on successive days...I admit I entered the first day hangry and skeptical, not being a big fan of "crepes." [[HIGHLIGHT]]My wife and I were charmed by the interior - very calming and welcoming, with chalkboard menus and a variety of seating areas.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had never considered the concept of crepes as handheld street-sandwiches, but that is what these are...almost like a crepe version of a quesadilla. Over two days, we sampled the Eggs Benedict, Cuban, Chorizo, and Traverse City Cherry crepes - all excellent. There are a variety of sweet and savory crepes to suit a variety of tastes. Excellent coffee and a lavender tea with honey, vanilla, and foam as beverages, but they also serve wine and a full cocktail menu if you're looking to get your drink on for brunch. Folks, this is excellent food at a family-run restaurant that deserves attention - and I say this with hesitation, because I don't want it to be so busy the next time we visit that we can't get in. Although they were out of some ingredients (no chai for chai lattes or potatoes for the Potato/Blue cheese/Herb salad), they were courteous, eager to please, and responsive to our requests (silverware despite the crepes presented as handheld street sandwiches...so we could cut them up and share). Mollie deserves special credit for taking care of us both days; it is a pleasure to see a restaurant giving young people experience in the service industry, and she made our visits a delight. In short, well worth a visit when you're in TC and other places might have a line out the door...they're missing out on a pretty special secret for breakfast/lunch...and you might even find a couple of Christmas gifts amongst their General Store offerings in the bargain. Ok the flow for workers and customers needs completely reworked. A cluster is the best word for the layout of this place. Restaurant Impossible would have a hay day with this place. Get rid of the Nick nacky sales and gain more seating so you can move the table by register to give customers a place to stand. Either you are a restaurant or a boutique but you don't have enough square footage to do both. I suspect the kitchen area also needs reworked for how long it is taking to get food. I am writing this as I wait for food (plenty of time, wasting much of our day here) so unless the crepe is life changing, I doubt my opinion will change about this place. Would not recommend. I ordered the turkey crepe and the caramelized onions gave it soooo much flavor. The iced mocha latte was sweet without it being overpowering. Service was prompt and the staff so friendly. What an adorable little business! They sell cute knickknacks along with delicious sweet and savory options for crepes. My grandma and I were in need of a late, light lunch before dinner, and the crepes here were the perfect choice. I wish I could rate this place. I am a local and since the beginning of summer I have tried to go over 8x. Every time I come it is within business hours posted and the restaurant is just closed sometimes with explanation, sometimes without. And it's usually something like "out of cheese". At this point I'm not sure if they are just closing for good or what. I wouldn't be surprised because I'm not sure how you could stay open when you decide to just be open or closed whenever you want on the fly. Came here with the family during cherry festival. Food was delicious, but the service was lackluster. They ran out of OJ during breakfast, so only half of our table got their drink with their meals. I was able to get a replacement drink, but a member of our group requested a water instead and never received it the entire time we were there. Despite politely asking two different people for it, more than once. Eating a cinnamon and sugar crepe with nothing to drink is about as awesome as it sounds. Dry. It's a super cute restaurant and I definitely would have enjoyed myself more if the service had just been a little better. This place was a real treat. We were up here last weekend and looking for a dog-friendly Sunday breakfast/brunch option. Most of the places that had purported to be dog-friendly had packed up their outdoor areas or refused to seat in them, despite it being a gorgeous sunny/warm day. Millie and Pepper was so great.
