Dropped by to celebrate a friends birthday- we typically save this spot for special occasions because we know that it's consistently a great experience, the menu is fun, and you can't predict what amazing plates will be on the special menu. We each had a cocktail, their Perfect Manhattan and I gotta say- it's really good - I tend to like my Manhattans a lil dry, not too sweet. We started things off with the risotto cakes which I think are a must, veering off the menu for the starter special which used pomegranate instead of tomato in a burrata basil balsamic presentation. I got the Pappardelle which has delicious boar meat, others went with the special which had crab- I can't remember the name and I didn't risk it all for the Instagram and take pictures before they started eating :( Service was of course excellent I had mentioned in the reservation that it was one of our birthdays and the first thing they did when greeting us is find out who's it was. The restaurant is known for its view and I will say it still looked nice even obscured by stormy skies. I will say with the storm outside it was nice to be able to have a meal in such a cozy place. We will be back again, plenty of other things to celebrate.

Amore Salad, 1/2 portion. Loved it!

Best place in the hood! We are regulars and never had a subpar meal. Cozy place, romantic.

Had a lovely time on Valentine's Day at That's Amore! My husband made us an early dinner reservation and our food and experience was fantastic. I had a glass of Chianti Classico wine and my husband enjoyed his Peroni. For food we had the bread and butter and Caesar salad for starters and both for fantastic. The bread and butter assortment had a fluffy center and the different butters were well flavored. The Caesar salad had a nice crunch and the dressing was light and had the perfect touch of the anchovy flavor. For main courses we enjoyed the rigatoni bolognese which was fresh and al dente. Then we also enjoyed the carbonara pasta which we loved the pancetta in. One of the better carbonara pastas I've had, other than the ones I've had in Italy. The restaurant inside had a sweet homey feel and was a perfect Valentine's Day feel. Our waitress was also lovely and was knowledgeable about the menu and gave great recommendations.

First off, the location is unbeatable. We had a seat right next to the window with a view to downtown Seattle. The cozy lighting and atmosphere was perfect for our anniversary dinner. The waitstaff were really friendly and warm. They gave us a complementary dessert, and multiple staff members wished us a happy anniversary. We enjoyed every single thing we ate. The meatballs were savory and delicious, the bread was warm and crisp, and the shrimp in the pasta were perfectly cooked. We absolutely enjoyed our meal and the time we spent there. We were visiting from out of town, and it's now on our list of places that we have to visit on any future trips.

The food, service, and ambiance are worth a visit to this neighborhood gem! We visited That's Amore with friends on a Friday, late afternoon into evening. It's a quaint neighborhood spot in the Mt. Baker neighborhood. We went for the Caprese, Bruschetta, and Bread n Butter to start. By-the-way, the bread is not on the house. We then turned our attention to the entrees. The Lasagna with Spicy Sausage, Bucatini Carbonera with Pancetta and Smokey Bacon, the Fettuccine Afredo with Shrimp, the Chef's Catch (which was Halibut with Mushroom Risotto), and the Dungeness Crab Pappardelle were all delightful. There wasn't a complaint in the group. We capped it off with a couple Tiramisus, a Decadence, and Cannoli. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening and the view of the business district of Seattle from our table was amazing!

Absolutely converted me to an Italian food fan. Normally I consider pasta super overpriced for what you get however, their pasta is stunning the flavors spot on order the bread with three different types of butter. One was a garlic one was like an herb mix and then just a plain butter The most amazing bread ever I could order just that for a meal. My sister had Bolognese was very good. I tried it and I had a menu special for the evening beautiful pasta with crab and a cream sauce. It was stunning and of course the view is spot on.

We got the Caesar salad and special amore pizza along with the rigatoni pizza and the crab special pasta. The rigatoni was ok. The crab special was sooo good along with the salad and amore special. Although the pizza is on the smaller side. The service was fast and server was very attentive, and the ambiance is on the quieter side.

Cute little restaurant in an out of the way neighborhood. It has a distant view, but from our table it was a little hard to see. The food was good, but a little pricier for most pasta places. I had the boar pappardelle and my friends had the crab pappardelle. We all enjoyed the dishes. Service was efficient and helpful. There is a 20% service charge - but I was told that you can use that as your tip or have it removed and add your own tip or add more. We were celebrating a birthday and they comped us a dessert! So nice! There is street parking.

Fun intimate spot in south Seattle. Brought my family here for an early dinner. We walked in without a reservation with no problem. Super kid friendly staff that offered my daughters paper and crayons to color. Also offered to order the kids meals right away, which was a nice gesture knowing we walked in hungry! I got the crab pappardelle pasta special which was a huge portion of crab and fresh pasta. My husband got the bolognese, both delicious dishes. Kids pasta was a bit pricey but everything tasted great and felt very welcome. They have a great view of downtown Seattle and will be back for a date night!

Came for my brother's birthday tonight and loved it. Absolutely delicious food, beautiful view and great service. We had the meatballs, butternut squash soup, flatbread, carbonara, pork belly and linguine- all delicious. Will definitely be back

That's Amore is a very good Italian Restaurant. The view of Seattle from the restaurant is incredible. This is a great place to visit for a date or special. We ordered the bread and butter (doesn't come with the meal) and Amore salad for appetizers, and linguini and Chicken Parmesan for entrees. The bread and butter was exceptional, it came with 3 unique butters that were infused with herbs and vegetables. The salad was very good, and had a great balance of flavors. We enjoyed the entrees, but the entrees had a few minor issues. The linguini was covered in a lemon sauce. The lemon was a little overpowering in the sauce, that it took away from the other ingredients in the dish. I added black pepper to the dish which neutralized the flavor and balanced the dish. The Chicken Parmesan was slightly overcooked, but the entree had good flavor. Aside from the few missteps in our entrees, the meal was amazing, and the ambience at this restaurant is unmatched. I would definitely visit again.

We two had dinner. Highlights are the view and the ambiance. Neighborhood restaurant worth dining at if you live nearby. SERVICE: 3.5. Attentive and friendly. 20% service charge included in bill. FOOD: 3.0. - Grilled Pear Salad: 3.0. We split a salad. OK. - Fungo Davi (appetizer plate): 3.5. Mushrooms were good with bread (ordered separately). Bread comes toasted, and should be eaten before it cools down. - Linguine: 2.5. Shrimp was rather salty for us. - Bucatini Carbonara: 3.0. - Dessert - Chocolate Decadence: 2.0. Way too sweet for our tastes. Really sweet. - Dessert - Cannoli: 3.0. AMBIANCE: 4.0. We dined indoors as it was a grey evening. Tables nicely-spaced and comfortable. Simple, inviting interior. Excellent view over Seattle from the windows on rear wall. Our table was in second row away from wall and well-positioned to take advantage of view. There are 2 tables and half of another that are right next to the windows; one is next to the 2 bathrooms but the positives of the view will probably trump the negative of the bathroom traffic for most folks.

The interior of the restaurant is cozy and simplistic, not too pretentious, and definitely allows you to settle in and enjoy without feeling stiff. First of all, our server (I think his name was Alfredo but my deepest apologies if I am mistaken) was super sweet and attentive. The front of house manager also brought us an amouse bouche at the beginning of our meal and was also super kind and clearly takes pride in his work. He even brought us another one because my husband loved it so much! Our server recommended a wine that was perfect for my palate and paired well with the meal we ordered and my husband's cocktail was balanced and delicious even for a non bourbon drinker like me. We ordered the cabbage appetizer, which was like a more exciting and fresher take on a caesar salad, and was quite good. Then, we had the special risotto with lamb sausage. I would have absolutely done unspeakable things for more of that risotto. It was indescribable. We also ordered the halibut and polenta, and the fish was cooked to the perfect temp and well seasoned. Neither of us typically lean toward polenta as a menu option but if all polenta tasted like this that might change! The fat from the guanciale made it especially velvety and that was an excellent pairing with the fish. Overall, we will be back expeditiously, and hope to encounter the same lovely team!!

When I made the reservations a few weeks prior, the only one I could get was on the patio. This actually turned out to be wonderful because we were the only ones on the patio and there were heat lamps. The menu focuses on Piemontese (I.e., Northern Italian) dishes, and so the dishes don't feature tomatoes or many of the ingredients you may be used to seeing in Italian dishes. We started with the insalata verde and the carciofi appetizers, both of which were incredible. My friend and I each got the cavatelli with morels and my spouse got the tajarin with ragu. Our server told us that they make the tajarin in-house and the two tajarin dishes are mainstays on the menu. And while the tajarin was wonderful, I preferred the cavatelli.

Let me tell you, Lupo is high on my list of "Best 'Za In Seattle", and it will be on yours as well. The waiter told us something about how they're "fancy pizza but not stuck up" (not a direct quote), which fits right in with Seattle gastronomic philosophy. It's worth trying to get here early in the night, because it can be difficult to get a seat. And you want to have some time to sit down and enjoy this pizza. Make sure you wear your best sitting pants though, because you're in for a meal that will make you progressively adjust the belt loops as time goes on. I'm sure that there are plenty of top notch pizzas across the menu here, but the Caesar salad may have been a best-in-class item. The dressing was perfectly balanced with just enough anchovy taste, and there was exactly enough of it on every bite. Instead of having croutons in the salad, they had a heaping portion of toasted breadcrumbs that made each bite so much more interesting. Caesar himself would be proud. All of the pizzas sounded great, but I was pretty sure that they would be able to execute on a cacio e pepe flawlessly here, and I wasn't disappointed. The initial bite was everything that I could have hoped for. But I would make sure that you demolish this pizza promptly - it's not one that's great as leftovers. I think that is the case for most pizza of this style anyways. I am ridiculously excited about coming back to Lupo in the future to try more pizzas. If you are currently reading this and haven't been here yet, I strongly urge you to close this review and head there immediately!

FOOD POISONING ALERT…read more I'm 8 months pregnant and came here on Mother's Day with my husband and toddler, hoping for a nice family celebration. Unfortunately, it turned into one of the worst dining experiences I've had in a long time. I ordered the seafood linguine special, while my husband had the veal marsala. The seafood in my pasta immediately tasted off -- especially the clams and mussels, which seemed old and likely frozen for far too long. Even my toddler, who normally LOVES seafood pasta at Italian restaurants, refused to take a second bite after trying it. I enjoyed seafood pasta from many other places but could barely finish my food that day. Later that night, I developed severe abdominal pain. At 8 months pregnant, any cramping is terrifying, and I genuinely thought I might be going into labor. After hours of pain coming and going, bloating, gas, vomiting, and diarrhea the next day, it became pretty obvious the food was the cause. Ruined Mother's Day and caused unnecessary stress during pregnancy. I will never order seafood from here again.

Then the server says, "We actually have 50% off happy hour until 11, come in and dine." So I came in. Ordered a drink, escargot, and a steak medium rare. The escargot came out fine. Then... nothing. 39 minutes later (at 10:45pm), the server asks if I'm waiting on anything else. Yes... my steak. She goes to check, disappears, and then comes back with something that honestly felt DISTESPECTFUL. The steak looked like scraps. Uneven, mismatched chunks, all different sizes, with burnt, crispy edges and covered in sauce like they were trying to hide it. It didn't look like a single cut of meat it looked like pieces from multiple steaks thrown together. The plating was sloppy, and the side looked like an afterthought. I didn't take a bite. I looked through it and said, "This looks like pieces from different steaks." She told me she watched them cut it... then immediately followed that by saying she saw them put it under a heat lamp to reheat. So which is it? I work in the food industry. I'm not going to be gaslit over a plate like that. She offered to refire it, but at that point it was almost 11 and they were closing. I paid for my drink and left. Honestly, I wouldn't have been upset if they had just told me the kitchen was closing when I called. But don't invite me in, forget my order, and then serve something like this and try to pass it off like it's normal. Just be honest.

We were…read morepleasantly surprised by our experience and this was notably one of the better meals we've ever shared together. When we first arrived we were given the option of either the chef's counter or a table. I thought the chef's counter was a unique experience but for the night we opted for a table near the window. The space is intimate and even though there weren't many people there when we first got there, it still gave a warm and cozy vibe (quickly filled up though). The week of my friend's birthday they were only doing Seattle Restaurant Week, which I hadn't realized at first but the menu was amazing regardless. The staff was very attentive to us, constantly checking in on us and making any adjustments as needed. They thoughtfully walked us through our choices and when the food arrived. First we started with appetizers which I thought it was nice that you get to try all them and didn't have to choose one. The salad and asparagus is what you would expect, but they were perfectly done and not overly complex. The stand out was the Seared Tombo, the flavors of this dish were balanced and the fish was clearly very fresh! For our main we both got the halibut option, which came with a side of sunchokes. We had never had sunchokes before but were immediately in love (the fish was cooked to perfection too) but I loved the introduction of not so common ingredient. I thought it was a fun play on traditional "potatoes" almost. I'm glad we were able to try both of the desserts. My favorite was the tiramisu (I always love tiramisu). The carrot cake was more on the dryer side (almost like a cornbread), which isn't my preference but I enjoyed the flavors. Overall, really enjoyed this place and would definitely come back!

Came here for my boyfriend's birthday recently and we tried the tasting menu ($89/person + 22%…read moreautomatic gratuity). FOOD: For the price, I think this tasting menu is a good deal. We got 4 appetizers, a pasta, an entree, and dessert. My fav items were the shrimp in polenta (shrimp was crispy without seemingly any breading, perfectly cooked and flavored) and the lamb skewers (well seasoned and cooked. Big fan of lamb in general). I also liked the deviled egg on kimchi, though it didn't taste like kimchi very much. The salad had too much dressing unfortunately and the crostini was interesting. We got a few drinks but my main impression is that they are strong! SERVICE Service here was so great and friendly. I only saw 2 front of house and 1 back of house so it's a small place. The front of house also bartend and make the drinks. I do wish the front of house explained the dishes a little more when they brought out the food. They told us the name of the dishes but as I was eating I realized it would've been nice to get a better idea of what was in it exactly, or halfway through I'd think "wait what else is in this?" AMBIANCE Tastefully decorated, small, and intimate. It was not busy when we came at all, with only up to 4 other tables having diners. I think this allowed the staff to focus on each table a little better without being overwhelmed. Overall had a good time. I admittedly wasn't blown out of the water but for $89/person for a fancier meal, I would say this is priced right for what you get (food, service, and ambiance included).
