Highly recommend the BREAKFAST BURRITOS. My bud had his with bacon, I did sausage. The chef's not afraid to 'put a little burn on it' - which goes a long way in our worlds. Delicious! This place is always lively on game nights, has the BEST munchies in town in my most humble opinion. Sylmar a very own unique little corner here has a lot to give to the community offering a great place to eat with great and personal customer service, always open to adjust your order to your liking. The manger (Shaina) is one of the most amazing human beings with a heart for service (very rare to come by these days), whom is ALSO is one of THE BEST BARTENDERS IN THE VALLEY. Yes I said it, they have fun with their mixology. Heard about this location off of TikTok had to come and try it out although it's a golf course it is very peaceful and welcoming the food. OMG Christian the chef is amazing. He cooks with so much love. It's like a homemade meal even though we literally just had breakfast food. The pancakes were thick and fluffy bacon, nice and crispy eggs fluffy top notch on the food Kim our bartender was amazing friendly attentive talkative and makes a really stiff drink. Food was amazing. I'd honestly rank the cheeseburger in my top 5 all time. Second time back with my son to try the breakfast and it didn't disappoint. A delicious omelet, pancakes and breakfast burrito was on the menu this morning. Been here many times and will go back always. However, what I don't understand is how their Friday night bartender Laura is still in this place for so long. She is inconsistent with what she charges compared to every other bartender, she is by far the worst server I have experienced in Avery long time. She has the attitude that she does not want to be bothered to put one a drink. I thought her main responsibility was to serve people drinks and contribute to a positive atmosphere in what is otherwise a hidden gem in Sylmar. My first impression is that this bar/restaurant is a perfect candidate for John Taffer's Bar Rescue. There is so much potential here. First off, the environment is just weird. The bar area is congested with most patrons trying to get a view of the TV's over the bar. The dining area is cluttered with extra chairs, dividers and miscellaneous things that needed to be put away. I felt like I was eating in a storage closet. My table was sticky and the chairs were mismatched. They were hard-colored plastic chairs that appeared to be better fit for a classroom and not a restaurant. Service was not existent from the bar staff - but great from the kitchen. There were 3 girls working. 1 behind the bar, 1 sitting with patrons and another that was walking around cleaning and trying to organize the mess. The bartender did spend some time sitting at a table and at one point was eating lunch at the bar. I almost felt bad interrupting her lunch to ask for a drink. Beyond that, no one approached our table and offered to take an order. I had to retrieve my own menu from the kitchen counter and walk to the bar to order. I had higher expectations for a golf course restaurant - the menu was limited to basics such as sliders, wings, wraps and grilled cheese. One of the specials was a hot dog. (oh boy) The menu could use some serious help. But here is the good news... the chef seemed to take pride in the kitchen which is viewable from the dining area. It was clean and the food he made was for the most part, pretty good. I would have liked to see more options and have a restaurant/pub-style experience and not just bar food. I play golf and like to frequent the restaurants at the courses I play and this one was on the lower end. Outside of getting some beverages for the course, I would go out of my way to avoid this spot mostly because of the environment and poor service from the bar staff. The best service we received was from the gentlemen who cooked our food, delivered it to our table, and brought us the basics such as napkins and utensils. This place has a lot of great reviews... must have been a good spot at one time. It's a shame. read more

Love this retro clubhouse restaurant/bar. The lemon pepper wings ($12) are the best I have had in L.A. Patty melt ($8) is excellent also! Prices are the most reasonable you will find in an L.A. restaurant. Period. I come here at least once a month for lunch. One additional note: the breakfast burrito ($8) is not my cup of tea, but I understand why some folks love it. It's huge and has everything but the kitchen sink in it. read more

Passing through Sylmar on our trip headed North, we stopped for breakfast here, as the Yelp reviews were good. We weren't aware that it was a clubhouse on a public golf course. The restaurant was completely empty aside from a partition wall where there was some sort of conference going on with guests speaking loud in microphones and clapping, etc. When we say down we were immediately told that they ran out of bacon and potatoes (which happens to be the sides that come with breakfast). Based on that, i opted for a grilled chicken sandwich with pepper jack cheese. My sandwich was mediocre at best. There was a very odd, tangy flavor that I think may have been from the cheese. It didn't sit well with me, that's for sure. The bathrooms were old and felt dirty. No paper towels after washing hands (how are the servers able to stay hygienic?) The maintenance man was even in the bathroom without a sign outside the door to give warning. The best part of the meal was that our server was very pleasant. [Keepin' it Cas' in Sylmar] I've been going to another business for breakfast every day for quite some time now--to the point where it became borderline-embarrassing for me to even walk in anymore. To hide my shame, I needed to find a new spot that would serve me up a good, affordable breakfast, and of all places, a driving range seems to have accomplished just that. Conveniently located within El Cariso Park, The 19th Hole Restaurant offers diner-style breakfast (served all day), all the while you enjoy the views of both the driving range and park. I walk in, notice the primarily-elder demographic sitting by the bar (yes, there is a full bar here!), and head to the back area to grab me some breakfast. Fortunately, they sell breakfast burritos (only bacon, from what I know*), so I opted for one of those, along with a simple coffee. Sitting at the back bar's always neat, since you can have a nice conversation with the chef as they're making your food. Speaking of which, the man working there that day was a really cool dude, asking me if I needed just about anything--"Cream and sugar? " "Would you like me to cut the burrito in half?" "Need some salsa?" "Do you have napkins?" "Want some water?" (Two minutes in) "Everything okay?" You name it! As for the burrito itself...quite a surprise. They don't skimp on the bacon, nor do they give you the cheap stuff, either. Thick, crisp, meaty goodness, all wrapped with the right balance of spud, cheese, and egg. That's all I ever look for in a breakfast burrito, but it's surprising to see how many places still fail to make one just right. If I could give one (very) minor complaint, it would be in regards to the tortilla, as I think they left it on the griddle for too long, causing it to toughen up. Also, they seem to only carry hot sauce (Tapatio and Tabasco, to be exact**), so if you're a fan of adding red or green Mexican salsa in your burrito, you might want to bring your own (which sounds ridiculous, but you'd be surprised how many people I've seen carry their own salsas into a business). In conclusion, I highly recommend this place--especially for the students attending Mission College nearby. They're open early and offer takeout, so feel free to call and order ahead of time to get that extra boost of energy before classes start. I probably don't need to tell the golf enthusiasts out there, but if you're unaware of this driving range, I would also throw out my recommendation for coming here, as El Cariso's one of the better parks that we have here in the valley. 4 stars speaks for itself, "I'm a fan." Perhaps my burrito will taste even BETTER on the next visit, or maybe I can try another item and see what else 19th Hole has to offer. (Is a restaurant still worth a 5-star rating if they happen to offer a few 3-star dishes? Food for thought.) That said, I'm very delighted to know that I can finally grab some breakfast somewhere else, and even walk it off at my local park. Definitely a hidden gem that I hope more people become aware of. I ordered myself a bacon&sausage burrito the second time, and everything was spot-on. From the tortilla, to the sides, to the salsa, it's official: 19th Hole is my new go-to. I'm keeping everything from my previous review (minus the rating) the same, just for reference. For $4.49, you really can't complain. The next step is figuring out how well the other items on the menu fair...but I'll leave that to other Yelpers. (You'll understand my position once you try the burrito.) read more

If you love waiting for hours, then this is place to eat. The food isn't worth the wait & I would not dine/eat breakfast here again. I literally had to chase the waiter and call the waiter like 5 Times before he even got to our table to take our order. Not only that, but I had to get up and walk to the front to ask for Refills and ask for napkins. I've never been so disappointed in a restaurant before because I have so much patience but this place tested my patience's and lost me as a customer for life. Our club had its annual holiday party at the 19th Hole for the second year. The first time was good but this year, with the help of the new event coordinator, Rabya, the party was even better. The room used is a small venue, best for less than 100. The layout Rabya used with round tables this year and decorated for Christmas worked great for the 80 odd hang gliders and their families. The new chef, Angel, served up a tasty menu including a killer chicken with sun-dried tomatoes-artichoke hearts and his chimichurri beef. (we're going back for their Valentine's dinner event; the breakfast specials look good, too). All the staff, led by Martha, kept us fed and bussed and happy. Having a bar handy to serve the thirsty bunch was wonderful for our group, especially, with Jessica and Cole mixing great drinks and keeping the beer flowing. Service was prompt and they were both adept at keeping the tabs straight. Many thanks to them for making it easy. Finally, for a buffet style dinner, the price was very reasonable. I wanted to try something different with my family for breakfast so I decided to yelp a nearby restaurant so that we can all dine together. To my surprise this diamond in the rough popped up. The inside isn't all fancy but my family of 4 ate for $30 (including tip & drinks) - 3 adults & 1 kid. Pros: There was no wait. We had the place to ourselves at 9am. The service was great ! They carried Splenda. (Gotta have it for my iced tea) Breakfast burrito (served with salsa), French toast, bacon & pancakes was all very good. Im always mystified by this place. Its hidden away at the el cariso golf course in sylmar overlooking the golf course. When I walk in im immediately taken back to 1979 because I think that's the last time they redecorated but stop!!! Do not let that deter you!! This place is a true hidden gem. And for some reason I always forget about it unless someone brings up breakfast burritos. Yes, you heard me, breakfast burritos. Now anyone who knows me knows i do not eat eggs in any form, blech. But, I will go to the 19th hole to get one of theirs. I would even say they best lucky boy in Pasadena. I get the sausage, cheese and potato and it's only about $6. Went back a few more times and their chef/server/cashier, Bobby, is a very nice and friendly guy and makes our order just right. He'll make the breakfast burrito with as little or as many ingredients as you like. He seems to run the whole restaurant so I hope the golf club pays him a decent salary. Its a small restaurant with a limited menu but the prices are really fare and they cook the food fresh right in front of you. Looking for a good breakfast place in Sylmar seems to be its own oxymoron. The choices are limited so I assume that in comparison this one must be among the better options. As far as food goes, it's mediocre at best. We got the breakfast burrito and Denver omelette. Again, both were mediocre at best. In both, the potatoes were cooked ok but not real flavorful, same could be said of the sausage, bacon, eggs, and cheese. No wow factor. If you like a spicy salsa that had a bit of a kick and some good flavor to add to the mix. It wasn't enough for me to make a return visit. The coffee was so-so and we're pretty sure the OJ was canned. You know what did stand out for me? The waitress. She was prompt, courteous, attentive, and kind. This place has so much potential. It needs a top to bottom make over. Like that it's so close to home and has beautiful views. It's a hidden gem. Food needs work, customer service needs a lot of work, cleanliness needs improvement. Willing to check out the brunch next time. The lunch was mediocre at best. The dated bar isn't very inviting.
