My boyfriend brought me on a date yesterday and the food did not disappoint. This was my first time trying out Ethiopian food and I thought it was soooo delicious. I love that it is vegetarian and that I get to use my hands to enjoy it. My bf and I are definitely coming here again for future dates.

This was our first time here for breakfast and it was soo good we came back for dinner as well. The customer service from the employees and the owner are outstanding. The place is kind of old school but it has a good vibe to it. We got some breakfast items and they were all very delicious and fresh. They have outside seating as well which is really nice. The parking is plenty. We also got the peach cobbler to go but I highly recommend you eat it there. Definitely give it a try if ever in the area. We'll be coming here more often that's for sure.

(3/5) Food was actually solid -- biscuits & gravy were rich, eggs cooked right, and the sausage hit. No complaints on flavor. But the experience got weird real quick. The menu clearly states that Ranch House breakfasts come with your choice of country potatoes or hash browns. I ordered the Biscuits & Gravy & Eggs (which is listed in that section), but when I asked about the missing hash browns, I was told they don't come with it and it's an extra charge. That directly contradicts what's printed on their own menu. Not trying to argue over potatoes, but it's the principle either update the menu or honor what it says. It just leaves a bad taste, and not the good kind. I'd come back for the food, but the pricing/menu clarity needs work.

The Ethiopian food is great. The chile relleno was not great. The chile part was good, but the sauce on top didn't taste great. The rice was also bland. I'll definitely come back for the Ethiopian.

Awaze Tibs with Injera was the bomb Delicious and that spicy sauce was perfect heat balance for me. Last time I had Ethiopian food was about 12 years ago on Fairfax... This place serves American, Mexican, AND Ethiopian .... Staff are friendly and helpful... I will definitely come back

The food and service are incredible here! Love family run businesses like this. They serve American, Mexican, and Ethiopian food here. I went with my kids and of course they had a standard American breakfast - pancakes, eggs, bacon. I love Ethiopian food and there's not many options around but their veggie plate and lentil sambusa are amazing! I have yet to try their Mexican but I'm sure it's as delicious as everything else here. Can't wait to return!

We stopped here randomly while looking for a breakfast spot later in the afternoon. It's right off of the osborne exit from the 210 freeway. It's an interesting restaurant, the menu is split with american/mexican/ethiopian food. My husband and son ordered breakfast, my other son had chicken fingers/fries. I had the ethiopian veggie plate, it was really good, both spicy and flavorful. I was stuffed and could barely finish half the plate. Service was great and the owner also was kind and came out to greet us. We definitely will be back!

Family owned open for 23 years, this little gem in Shadow Hill is amazing. Walking in you don't feel like you're in California but in some country side in the south. Shadow Hill is a horse town so it's definitely giving the south. Anyways I digress... I got the steak and eggs with a muffin on gravy and my friend got the country fried steak with pancakes. We also got sourdough bread with butter on the side. Emily our waitress was very nice, sweet and attentive and so was everyone else. From the time we placed our order, it didn't take long when we got our food. The food was cooked to perfection and tasted fresh. I will say they had a pretty good selection for breakfast, that also included Mexican/Tex mix breakfast. We will definitely be coming back to try their lunch. If I had to rate this place it would be 9 out of 10. If you're in the 818 area please be sure to visit this spot. Side bar muffin and gravy so good and the pancakes were amazing they were so fluffy and the syrup was delicious not too sweet. You can tell there are a lot of regulars that come in, the vibes was definitely friendly and family oriented. Please note that it is cash only and if there's no parking in the front or side there's additional parking in the back.

Maybe the…read morequality has declined recently, or maybe I should have read the yelp and TikTok review before driving over. The good: The place is beautiful. The café de olla was delicious. The barbacoa had good flavor. The grilled meat was flavorful too. Now for the adventure... My daughter managed to hurt herself multiple times on exposed screws sticking out of the "rustic" tables. Apparently tetanus is part of the dining experience. Then came the wait. And the wait. And more waiting. Over an hour for food. Not an exaggeration. During this time, there were no complimentary chips, salsa, water, bread, emotional support, nothing. We ordered guacamole, chips, café de olla, and sodas for the kids. By the time the food arrived, the sodas had gone from cold and fizzy to warm and philosophical. After an hour, the waiter informed us that the chilaquiles were holding up the entire table because they're the house specialty. At that point I wanted to cancel them so everyone else could eat, but he assured us the wait would be worth it. Spoiler alert: it was not. If you order the chilaquiles, prepare to upgrade them. Pay extra for eggs. Pay extra for meat. Pay extra for hope. The waiter also explained that they purposely held all the other dishes so everyone could enjoy their food hot at the same time. Great concept. Unfortunately, the food still arrived lukewarm, bordering on room temperature. Also, don't come expecting homemade tortillas. Or soft tortillas. Or enough tortillas. Most plates came with 2-3 tortillas, and if your meal required more than that, get ready to pay extra. And let's talk pricing, because that part was almost as confusing as the wait. About $16 for a "menudo con pata" where the pata apparently got lost somewhere between the kitchen and the table. Around $20 for chilaquiles with two eggs. Then roughly $25 for a plate featuring one piece of carne asada and what could generously be described as a single chicken thigh. By the end of the meal, I wasn't sure what was tougher: the carne asada or the tortillas. Oh, and there was a hair in the menudo. Normally, finding a hair in your food would be the headline of a restaurant review. Somehow, after the exposed screws, hour-long wait, warm sodas, cold food, missing pata, tortilla rationing, and disappointing flavors, the hair barely cracked the Top 10 list of problems during our visit.
