First time here. Atmosphere is nice, staff is nice. Food..what we ordered, not great. For $17....I got gluey, lumpy grits, 2 eggs and 2 pieces of bacon. Only good thing was the egg and the $4.70 mini drop biscuit. Texture was like paste. Bacon, not drained, full of bacon fat flavor (not in a good way). Please take these grits off the menu if you cannot make them correctly. I grew up on these and they do not taste or have this texture. I prefer to only make positive reviews, but until this place figures out how to run a restaurant you should avoid it. It was a busy weekend but here is the rundown of our brunch timing. Note this meal was on Saturday, not Sunday Mother's Day brunch : -1145am appointment and promptly seated. We were told it will take about 40 minutes to get our food which is fine. - 1200 the wait staff finally came by and took our total order (food and drinks) -1210 water was finally brought to table -1220 four of 5 beverages came out. - 1235 final beverage delivered. There is zero engagement from anyone between these long waits. -1255 three meals delivered. One missing something. - 100 one of the remaining meals delivered - 110 final meal and apology that it would be comped. That's 1.5 hours to get breakfast food for 5 people. The menu was good but the execution by the kitchen was inconsistent. At that point we just wanted to finally get out of there. Sitting there with tap water after finishing your first round of coffee/drinks a long time ago and hoping someone ever returns is crazy. The location is great, menu well constructed, and it was clean and welcoming. If you are looking for a place to just sit around and talk to each other for a couple hours and maybe, just maybe get some food or service at some point then this is the place for you. The one positive note was the barista slinging coffee drinks. She was working her tail off the entire time and all the coffee drinks were great. If anyone had come to ask we likely would have ordered more while we waited. read more

This is a late review.(Life was getting in the way lol.) I came here for breakfast with my daughters after the New Year's weekend. It was early, so the place was a little empty and the ladies were pretty much recovering from the crazy weekend...totally understandable! The cafe was beautiful. I loved the decor and location. There's a good mix of delicious menu items to choose from for breakfast. We chose the Chicken and Waffles, Irish Breakfast Hash and Harissa Sweet Potato Hash. I think the best was the Irish Breakfast Hash. It is tasty, huge and it could have fed all 3 of us. The Harissa Sweet Potato Hash was good, I ate most of it and the least favorite was the chicken and waffle. My daughter said that it was good, but not good good. Price point was okay. It's a specialty restaurant so they priced it accordingly. My experience with the service was okay. I understand they were recouperating from the crazy holiday weekend. But it kinda seemed dry. +2 stars for the vibe, it was very nice, but the experience was very poor. Based on other reviews this was probably just an off day, but this is what we saw. Food took a long time to come out, the eggs were cooked wrong, and the breakfast enchiladas were very mediocre. Very small portion for the quality. Cutting into the waffle we received took an absurd amount of force, as it was cooked to a crisp. It could just be their style, but it's past me why anyone would want a dry crumbly waffle. We also tasted the worst dirty chai latte possibly ever. I think a 6 year old could make a better drink if given the ingredients. read more

We chose to celebrate our anniversary with brunch here and we were not disappointed. We each got a savory dish (chicken fried steak for my husband and a hash for me) and then shared a waffle to balance it out. Everything was delicious and just the right portions to leave you satisfied. The hash with a fried egg was very good! We enjoyed our seat by the window on a sunny weekday morning. We were traveling through Eugene to visit family for the holidays and stopped in for Christmas Eve breakfast. As you might guess from the name, there's a Jazz theme and Jazz music played throughout our meal giving an intimate, cozy vibe. We ordered the Elvis waffles, Patatas bravas, Poerchetta Hash, and mixed berry waffles. The Patatas bravas were executed perfectly; crispy fried potatoes with aioli and hot sauce. Food was DELICIOUS but for the price and mere amount, and wait time for our food to come out it was not worth it. With tip we spent $100+ for lunch for 2 adults and 2 children. My daughter got the smallest mochi pancakes we had to get an additional kids waffle. My son ordered the chicken and waffles, which came with one waffle and two small pieces of fried chicken. Although delicious was not worth $19. My husband got the veggie enchiladas which were also delicious but the portions were sooooo small. I got the grits and for $16 I should have gotten a huge bowl of grits because for 1.5 lbs of Bob's red mill grits for $8.99 I barely got 1 cooked cup of grits. The grits came with 2 slices of bacon and 2 eggs but for all that I should not have paid $16 for less than 1 cup cooked grits, 2 eggs and 2 slices of bacon. I have accounted for service and labor charges and it's still way too much. The wait was also unexpectedly long. The food was VERY tasty I will give them that but the price per amount simply wasn't worth it. Ambiance was cool, with jazz music playing, free parking which was nice... but I think we could do better on portion compared to price. I am a bit unsure of my opinion of this place. The ambiance is nice, I love jazz, and as you can see the food came out looking really pretty! However, both of the hashes that we ordered were a bit heavy and greasy and the vegetables (brussels and potatoes) felt a little overcooked for our liking. That can be chalked up to preference, but just something to note. For a place that advertises its service pretty heavily, I didn't really feel all that attended to--things like checking in with us regularly, giving updates on our order, etc. These are all extra things that I personally don't hold against restaurants when they don't do it, unless you are specifically including this as a part of the dining experience you are known for. This is the only reason I am a little disappointed, especially because our food did take a particularly long time to arrive. Seeing a table next to us arrive at a similar time, get their food, finish it, and leave with the check can be a little bit frustrating. When we did get the food, they kinda just plunked it on the table and they rattled off hot sauce options so fast I barely even processed what had happened. It's weird coming to a cafe and feeling like you are the one inconveniencing them by being there. Overall I think there's plenty of brunch spots in Eugene that serve similar food, at similar prices that are less busy and can provide a smoother experience. I would not go out of my way to come here again or recommend it over another cafe, unfortunately. read more

I've been wanting to check this place out for a while especially given all of the newer development in the downtown area and had heard many good things from friends and acquaintances alike. I was finally able to go with my wife for a weekday brunch a little while back and it was a solid option. It's centrally located between several hotels and offers a solid menu. It's a good choice for out-of-towners and locals alike. I ordered the Breakfast Enchilada which came with an over easy egg, and a small nicely dressed salad. My wife ordered the Harissa Sweet Potato Hash which also came with an over easy egg and an arugula salad. We thought that both dishes were good options and represented their offerings well. We received over easy eggs as despite asking how we wanted our eggs basted, they flat out refused. Perhaps it is to keep up with orders when it is busier, but, just thought it was a little odd. Being a former aspiring jazz musician, I did appreciate the attention to their name in the ambiance. The music choices were great, the decor was a little generic but nice. The service was good. Turkey Club was falling apart when delivered to the table and a little disappointed in the appearance (homemade sourdough bread falling apart), but it was absolutely delicious so all good. My son's breakfast (build your own) was good, but the price ridiculously high $22.50. $6.50 for 2 coffees that were supposed to be hot, but not, my bad didn't feel like complaining. Been wanting to come here for awhile . I also always want to order eggs Benedict at other places but afraid too . I did here because I've heard good things and believe me I was happy. I did sub Avocado for tomato. Delicious. Home fries cooked nicely and the biscuit held up to the perfectly poached egg. Next time think I'll Try chicken and waffles. Hubby got the chicken fried steak. It was good but it was not cubed he said he would have rather just had steak and the eggs he said the eggs were delicate really liked them and biscuit and gravy also thumbs up. Then he ordered a chocolate mocha iced. That was really good with all the chocolate through out the drink and great price also. Decor was upscale . Staff was friendly the only thing that threw us off was everyone was dressed professionally and the chef at window had a LA Laker jersey on. Not sure what that was about . They were busy and it took them a bit of time to acknowledge me and get me seated. I ordered the delicata squash benedict without sauce... yes I had to google what a delicata squash was and it is absolutely delicious. Sweet and creamy and slightly over roasted so there was a smoky taste. The dish comes with salad. My only complaint was that there was a very small amount for squash and for a $20 plate of food, I was expecting more. I also ordered the mochi pancake with the mix berry compote. The pancake tasted like a regular pancake and not anything similar to Asian mochi pancakes. The compote was the star though and an absolute highlight. It was not too sweet and still slightly tart. The portion was small, but that works for me. I think the mochi pancakes were $10. I can see why this is called "Ladies" cafe. I think if I were a guy, I would walk out still hungry but the menu does have more robust items. It is worth a try if you want something different for brunch. Paid $2.50 for 1 hour parking in the adjacent lot. read more

After reading the mixed reviews I still decided to give it a try. Both my friend and I ordered the Country Bacon Benedict. As was mentioned in another review, our eggs came out coolish. The biscuit was very tough. Besides that, the overall flavor was okay, nothing great. The side of country potatoes were very crispy and somewhat hard, like they would have been good to use as ammunition in a slingshot. The acoustics of the restaurant are awful, it was so loud that if you wanted to have a conversation you almost had to yell. The house drip coffee was good. The gluten free focaccia was very impressive and I think the price was really reasonable for gf/vegan food. My food was ready quickly and the staff was really nice. Sweet! Let's start off with, the whole restaurant is gluten-free. As someone with a gluten sensitivity, it's awesome not to have to worry that I'll hit something that is going to make me unhappy. Overall, the food hit the mark. Brussel sprouts were crunchy and tasty, Patatas Bravas were a bit mild for my taste but still yumm, Coconut Shrimp were nice with the sweet chili sauce, GF Calamari (I love them but often can't eat them out), the green salad was crisp with lots of nice adds, and the best (for me) was the Pork Belly!! They while are still a good place to bring out of town guests, no longer justify the price for what is served in my opinion. Me and my date ordered two waffles, one with chickan, a side of eggs and bacon, an orange juice and a latte totaling 57$ the waffle batter was thin, the waffles 1/3 smaller than the last time i visited. Bacon was very thin and two half peices. disappointing for what jazzy lady used to serve before they changed locations and 1/3 more expensive. Seems they have gotten fancy and expensive and have reduced the size and quality. Very disappointing for how beutiful the location is and the local pride I have knowing the back story of how it got started. Thick full slices of baccon, the waffles being more harty and (round) filling the plate would go a long ways to level that out and justify the price. read more

The ambiance of this place is wonderful - warm and cozy. The butternut Benedict was fantastic as was the breakfast salad. The Benedict was especially good because it came on a bed of greens, and the hollandaise and egg yolk acted as a rich salad dressing. The greens offset the richness of the hollandaise and egg yolk, which struck the perfect balance. I didn't use hot sauce as I normally do; it was perfect with nothing added. The cafe lattes were wonderful and the service was good, but we did need to ask for a couple things (more silverware, etc) which is why it wasn't strictly 5 star. Highly recommended. read more

The lonely cappuccino cup sat on the edge of the bar. The foam encrusted edges mocked me as I speculated whether the busy bartender would inquire if I wanted another. He did not. I next finished my water. Shortly after it set empty he instructed another person to fill that back up. I started to ask about a coffee and he walked away. I gave up. But the warm strawberry scone we received when we inquired of the baker as she walked back and forth to the pastry case was a delightful interlude in the long wait for our breakfast The lady who sat down next to us at the bar about 15 minutes after we arrived received her food, ate it all, and left before we got our food. We were excited to go to Jazzy Ladies yesterday for Mother's Day brunch because we go there a fair amount through the year. But I can't begin to tell you how disappointed we were. We had 1:15 reservations, were seated right away and the server was prompt, friendly, and engaging. Looking around I noticed three or four chafing dishes along the back wall and a large table near the register with desserts, a bowl of salad, fruit, and a pile of biscuits with a large serving bowl of gravy right next to them. Again all of these were on one table...desserts, salad, fruit, biscuits and gravy. After being seated and receiving our coffee we went to the buffet. The first couple of chafing dishes were nearly empty and the egg dishes that were in there were dry and cold and flavorless. I passed. Moving down the line were two chafing dishes of hash. I chose a little from the nearly empty one that contained brussel sprouts ...cold food again and the brussel sprouts tasted burnt. The chafing dishes with ham and bacon was being filled when we got to it, and I thought this is good...finally some fresh food. But the bacon looked undercooked and greasy and the ham, which I did have, was dry and cold. Finally, there were waffles, cut in quarters. They were dry, hard, and, you guessed it, cold. Maybe next year perhaps offer your regular menu in addition to a buffet, or just skip the buffet altogether. read more

I've been here multiple times and have never had a bad experience. The food is delicious, the employees are friendly, and the vibes are immaculate. The kitchen is fully gluten-free but you would never know with how good the food is. I usually get the chicken and waffles and it is fantastic. My friend also loves the chicken and waffles and gets it every time she visits from out of state. The chicken is always juicy and the batter is so delicious, you would never know it's gluten free. The waffle is also crispy and fluffy and the syrup completes the whole dish. Today I mixed it up and got the crispy chicken sandwich with a decaf honey bear latte, and my friend got the chicken and waffles as always and a chai latte. The sandwich was fantastic and filling and the fries were well-cooked. The ranch that came with them was also really good. The latte was just alright, I don't think it was for me but I can see how others like it. I think I just don't like almond syrup! My friend's food and drink were both delicious as always. The restaurant is downtown but there is a free parking lot right behind it so parking is not a problem. The spaces are pretty narrow but I've always been able to fit. There's a restroom for customers in the restaurant and it's always clean. The dining space is intimate and cozy while also being open and well-lit. It feels very ornate while not being bougie, and is always clean. The employees are always a delight and will happily handle substitutions and removals when ordering. Our food has always been accurate and fresh. I think this is becoming a regular spot for me, especially when my friend visits.
