Worst hotel I have ever stayed at. They have 1 guy who basically is overworked because he did EVERYTHING. Upon arrival to the hotel we found out that they were in the process of remodeling and the onsite restaurant was closed. Due to the construction we had to walk the distance of the entire resort just to get to our room. Upon getting to the room we discovered that the television was broken and then both remotes wouldn't work once they brought in a different tv. The microwave turntable didn't work and the mini fridge barely made a can of soda cold at all. There was a 1/2 box of Kleenex and we found out the next day that there wasn't any maid service. So no fresh towels or beds made or anything on the 2nd day. We went down an elevator that took us to the construction area and when the elevator door opened the entrance was taped with plastic so we tried to go back up to where we came and the elevator wouldn't work. So we had to yell for the painters to come pull the last down to let us out. This has been the worst experience at a hotel that I have ever had. The only thing good was our view of the ocean from our room. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

We took one look at the room and the hallway, the smell was horrible. The man at the front desk took our keys and I told him we were leaving. I seen a review about a remodel. Not the wing of hotel we got. No ocean view which I reserved and paid for. I guess they consider leaning out your balcony and looking to the left to see where other people go to check out the ocean and ocean view. The room was disgusting and smelled not to mention it looked like someone else was sitting on the bed. There were bugs crawling across the floor. The ice machine was in pieces and it looked like they chose to never vacuum the hallway hoping the dirt, hair and debris would hide the stains. We walked in and left knowing that it was not refundable. I was willing to leave and not stay there anyway. We reserved this room on travelocity. The reviews were good. As a former Travel Agent I will strive to provide just the facts of our 45th anniversary debacle at this "Resort". THERE'S NO PUTTING LIPSTICK ON THIS PIG. 1. We reserved, for one week, the second floor 1bdrm unit, one of only 3, 4 months prior to our celebration. The 3rd floor 1bdrm was booked and we would not accept first floor due to privacy and security concerns related to a public ocean lookout with heavy foot traffic directly in front. 2. The guests due to depart day of our arrival did not want to leave and asked the HOUSEKEEPER, if they could stay a few more days which the housekeeper? approved. 3. We were shoved into first floor unit as desk would not override housekeeping decision and place them on first floor giving us the unit we reserved. 4. We were understandably upset as anyone would be but no profanity took place. That's not how we roll. The GM serves as the night auditor? and comes in at midnight and was unavailable? 5. We trudged to the first floor, me in tears, with no directions, no cart. Upon entering we found a tired and sad unit with 1 60watt thrift store lamp, some new paint obviously because painters tape was still up, along with cheap thrift store furniture and bedroom backing directly on to public parking ten feet away. Bedroom curtains could not be opened due to lack of privacy and one small 60watt lamp the only light. 6. The cheap low patio chairs were thrown away from unit into grass and dirty. An 8-10 inch step to patio led very closely to a bad fall my husband almost took because he didn't notice large drop and failed to grab a bar by the door to help him get down. Lots of people outside in front and side of building. 7. THE GENERAL MANAGER MIRACULOUSLY SHOWED? A large, loud, intimidating burly man needing additional backside coverage from his jeans, pulling a cart, THREW US OUT citing profanity ABUSE OF HIS STAFF. 8. Now approaching 8pm THE GENERAL MANAGER ALSO THREATENED TO CALL YACHATS PROPERTIES AND TELL THEM NOT TO RENT TO US. THE FRONT DESK STAFF SAT OUTSIDE AND LAUGHED AT US AS WE DROVE OFF. 9. We are elderly, well-heeled and travelled, but had no recourse than to drive home, arriving late at night. 10. We had NO CELEBRATORY 45th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY. read more

A beautiful, SPACIOUS king room with ocean views and in room jacuzzi! Delightfully clean. The view was incessantly enchanting. The jacuzzi was so relaxing! Improvements recommended: provide at least 2 small bottled waters in room. After paying nearly $300.00 for 1 night, a guest should be given purified water and not have to drink from the tap or trek down to the lobby to buy bottles for $1.50 each. Clean the windows! I was quite disappointed in our stay at this "resort" that is so NOT a resort! Not even close. We have stayed in Motel 6's that are in better and nicer condition than this place was!!! I booked a room with an ocean view, fireplace and balcony. I got only the ocean view - but had to take out the screen to see it, as the screen was very old, thick, and kept you from seeing very well. There was nothing on the walls, not in the rooms, not in the hallways. We paid to have a room with a fireplace - it was a hole in the wall "fireplace" for show. It lit up, but there was absolutely no heat!!! It was a joke. The manager even told us when we checked in "Go uup and enjoy the nice warm fireplace." Apparently we had to use our imagination for the warmth part. The shower sprayed like a firehose and stung your skin if it was hitting you for too long - and esp hurt the front of the upper body, ladies - if you know what I mean. Little kids would have cried if they used this shower!!! And no way to adjust it at all. Shower curtain was a joke and water went all over the bathroom floor. The bathroom ceiling fan was unusable as it made a horrible roaring sound when it was turned on, AND it appeared to be falling out of the ceiling. They put in a new fixture above the sink, but didn't repair the drywall!!! They just painted right over it and there was this 1 foot gash with exposed electrical wire above the mirror. Anything living in the walls could have crawled out of it easily. I don't know why you would go through the trouble to make a nice update to the bathroom to leave a gash in the wall and just paint right over it. What a joke!!! The breakfasts were a joke - a brown bag, tasteless breakfast of bland whole grain bagel with no flavor, a TINY kids portion of cereal... extremely disappointing. Staff was not very pleasant either. TV service was not working, so there was no TV - not that it mattered to us but it might matter to someone else. The room was terribly hot, with no ceiling fan, no AC, and a broken box fan that was as loud as a freight train. Yes, we opened the window, but there was no way to pull the air thru the room. The furnature was old, beat up, thrift store looking furniture. Pets were not allowed here, yet there was a dog who barked in the room below us. The "resort" claims to be a non-smoking property, yet there was constant marijuana smoke in the hallway. The vending machines didn't work... just really the poorest quality lodging anywhere along the Oregon Coastline. Save your money and stay somewhere else. I would recommend the Yachats Inn. And we should have stayed there like we have in the past. We were there June 2023. read more

The dig was when we checked in the desk person stated we could have saved money if we called direct. We stayed in a Jacuzzi suite with a spectacular ocean view. The resort staff were all very friendly. It is a quick walk and easy access to explore some beautiful tide pools. We did not eat at the restaurant as they were booked, but Leroy's Blue Whale is close and their colossal burgers are amazing. The furniture could definitely use an update as well as the resorts exterior, but the room was very clean and the mattress was extremely comfortable. If you are a light sleeper I highly recommend earplugs as I did hear a fan running all night. I love their little gift shop with some fun greeting cards and very reasonably priced Yachats apparel. read more

BEDBUGS! We stayed there in late September and found bedbugs in our room. When we checked out at 6 am, I informed the clerk and he acted like he had heard it a 100 times. He was NOT surprised and did not apologize at all. I had to ask for a discount on the room, which he did- took $100 off. We tried calling the manager twice in the next couple of days and he would never call us back. We sent a letter - no response. This stunning resort is a hidden gem on the Oregon Coast. The hotel is large and rustic with a beautiful location directly on the shoreline. Its very accessible and close to all the attractions in and around town. The staff is very helpful and pleasant and the rooms were breathtakingly gorgeous with lots of amenities. There are private trails that go all along the water with epic views. There is a large, beautiful spa area with a pool and sauna. Excellent for a relaxing getaway. I can't wait to stay there again! Everything in the town closes fairly early at night so I would recommend grabbing any drinks or snack you may need for late night activities. read more

They need to offer more comfortable seating (with higher backs) in the rooms because we enjoyed looking out our view when it was too cool to sit outside. Saturday I was kicked out of the lobby. When I tried to explain that there are new Covid rules and showing my vaccine card I was still asked to leave. It was humiliating. My husband went back down to the office to talk with them and share the new rules. I still wasn't given an apology. NO APOLOGY! Just an excuse about the managers not telling them and it brushed under the rug. We have stayed at this resort once a month for a long time (choosing it over our family beach home). If you stay here with a pet, you will definitely be a second-class citizen. The "pet wing" is old and dilapidated. There is an element of bait and switch here, as the pictures on the website are of the non-pet rooms, which appear to be much nicer. The rug in our room was mildewed and loaded with pet stains. The view was partially of the ocean, while the non-pet rooms have full ocean views. This is not mentioned on the website. We stayed as a family of four. The view from the room was unbeatable, and we enjoyed being able to reserve a 45 min pool swim! I went expecting to be able to do some work on the computer and there was absolutely no internet from our room, which I thought was pretty standard these days. The room was clean. Electric fireplace a nice touch. The woman at check in was very nice. I feel like they could do a lot more with the lobby area, straight outta 1960, but maybe that's part of the charm. We were going to stay here but talking to the front lady really turned me off that I decided to change our itinerary and stay somewhere else. Since we were traveling with small children, I asked about what preventative measures that they were taking during this pandemic. The person who I spoke with said, "you really shouldn't come if you're worried about catching something." Um... I didn't ask her for her uninvited commentary. I asked her what measures her hotel was taking on cleaning and social distancing. She was curt and later just said, "the hotel staff is working their butt off to clean." That was it. I get that she probably is annoyed with guests asking this but come on, a little patience can go very far. She could have been nicer. Out of the 10 hotels I talked to regarding this topic, this receptionist was the only person who answered in this off putting and rude way. At the end of our conversation she said, "there is no guarantee that you will be safe from catching something." Duh... I'm not stupid. I understand that risk. Booked our 1st night on 4-12-2024 and planned to stay for 4 nights for our 44th anniversary. We have stayed there a lot over the years and will never go back! We left after 3 nights. We were in one of the renovated rooms on the 3rd floor. There was ONE drawer in our whole room next to the only end table by one side of the bed. Enough to put a couple of pieces of underwear and the Gideon Bible inside. ONE drawer ! Okay, I'm going to repeat myself ONE drawer in the full place. Living out of our suitcases. No night table next to the other side of the bed, so I have to get up in the middle of the night just to find get a glass of water, find my glasses and my phone. No housekeeping unless you stay for at least 4 days. Horrid access to outlets, all behind heavy furniture. Toilet was set so close to the floor that even a short person (that would be me) was uncomfortable. The layout stinks. Whoever designed this renovation most definitely didn't spend a single night in one of these rooms. The plus side...gorgeous view with the waves crashing and everyone on the staff was so very friendly even though being overworked, like crazy. Shout out to Levi, who worked his butt off trying to take care of the lounge and the restaurant at the same time. Give that young man a raise, he deserves it, okay? Due to a small landslide on Highway 101 in Oregon south of Yachats, my wife and I decided instead of pushing further on our road trip we were just stay in town. We found the Adobe resort by chance by looking at a satellite map of the area. I saw that it looked over a rocky area of the coast that had a beautiful view of the waves crashing in on the shore. We had stayed at a resort up in Cannon Beach that we absolutely loved and this reminded us of the same type of setting. We even laughed and said that if there's a pizza place nearby that would be perfect as we had a pizza in Cannon watching the waves roll in for half the night. I called to see if they had any rooms available and fortunately after checking they did have one cancellation due to the landslide, good for us! We checked into the room and it had a beautiful view of the ocean, an electric fireplace that gave the room a wonderful romantic setting, and a sliding door that opened to the overlook area. The resort had a washer and dryer which was incredibly convenient too. The restaurant and lounge were very convenient and had a great menu of different meals which I will review under the adobe restaurant. I will recommend this resort to anyone visiting the Oregon coast. read more

Don't be fooled by the name. This is no resort. Unless we're talking the kind that starts with "last." The room smelled musty. The furniture was dirty. The decor was dated. The bed was uncomfortable. Admittedly, the rooms opening onto the ocean have an impressive outlook, but the well-traveled 804 Trail passes right outside your patio door, meaning you have to make the impossible choice between privacy and a lovely view. None of these things would have motivated me to write this review if not for what happened at the end of my stay. A hotel employee's negligence caused damage to my car. The manager did a good job of placating me in the moment. She was apologetic, took down my information, and promised to reimburse me once I sent her three (!) estimates for the repair cost. But then the hotel ignored my subsequent emails and voicemails. At best, they were simply incompetent in failing to get back to me. At worst, they decided, "There's no way this schnook from San Francisco is going to sue us all the way up here in Oregon over a couple hundred bucks, so let's just blow him off." We wound-up here by accident and what a pleasant surprise. We had been looking forward to an ocean view and a break from work and home for weeks. My lady booked us a place in Newport, as it is one of our usual destinations when visiting the coast. To make a long story short the other place did not come as advertised. It was already after 4 on a Saturday night. We got out of the other hotel and booked this place by phone. 1. It is literally right on the water. 2. The price was cheaper than Newport. 3. The staff is friendly and accommodating. 4. The rooms are comfortable, and seaside have a great view. 5. The place is well maintained. 6. The food is good, contrary to some posts here. If you are trying to show off your sophisticated pallet and impress everyone... well, I guess that you have that right. The two of us were completely satisfied. 7. There is a private coast walk right out the door. 8. There is a nice pool, hot tub, and sauna. 9. The rooms have basically everything you would expect from a decent hotel. It is not a 5 star hotel by any means, but if you expect it to be you are the problem. It doesn't sell itself that way. Honestly, I have nothing negative to say. We already have a room with a hot tube reserved for our next get away. A relaxing and comfortable stay. read more

We stayed in a corner King unit with a balcony. The room itself is decent and the ocean is literally 200 yards away. The location is 5 stars! Lots of well groomed walking trails that follow the beautiful and rocky ocean shoreline. You'll have to walk about one mile north for sandy beaches but you will find some small patches of sand and great areas to sit and watch the ocean just outside the hotel. Town is about a 10-15 walk away. Love the location. The building is pretty dated and in need of some TLC but for the price I'm not going to complain. I will complain about the lack of internet as I see others have done. Their WiFi portal looks strong and devices connect easily but then nothing happens. No internet. (I know a first world problem but hey!) The other issue for Yachats and the hotel are cell phone signals are weak or non existent so be prepared for that. My carrier is T-Mobile and my friend has AT&T, both of us get 1-2 bars max at the resort. I had no cell service in town and he had 3 bars with AT&T. Just an FYI. All in all it's been a good experience and I'd recommend giving this hotel and definitely Yachats a visit. read more

Paid $250/night for 3 night stay. The location is lovely, Staff are friendly, but the facility has a great deal of deferred maintenance. No screen on the window, so lots of flies came in the room when we were enjoying the sounds of the ocean, sliding closet door was off the track, No Wi-Fi and poor cell reception. Burned out light bulbs, no maid service during the entire 3 day stay. USB charger on the headboard did not work. The room has a gas fireplace, but it was disabled. no controls available to turn it on. No thermostat in the room. The only way cool it off was to open the window. (more flies) We enjoyed our stay anyway, but at this price point I really do not expect the low level of service and poor maintenance. Will think twice before returning. read more

Nice hotel right on the ocean. Lots of rooms. We stayed in a king suite and it was very large and comfortable. It even had two sinks. The room was clean and comfortable. We stayed on the side opposite the ocean, so we missed out on the ocean views. The staff was helpful. We didn't go into the restaurant because it seemed a bit pricey and we ended up going into town for dinner. So, why just 3 stars. The entire place feels a bit tired and old. It seems like it used to be a great resort, but now it is slowly fading. Price was OK for what we got. One frustration was that they didn't open the exercise room until 8:00 am. That seemed a bit strange. Most of us who want to use the exercise room would like to get in a workout before breakfast (if they provided breakfast, which they don't). read more

I spent only one night there. I simply wanted a clean room in Yahats at a reasonable price. I chose the "parking lot" view vs the ocean side which costs a bit more. The room was neat, clean, quiet, and met my expectations. The Adobe is a bit dated but all the essentials in the room worked just fine (micro, frig, coffee maker). The TV would not turn on, so I called the front desk and a technician came within 5 minutes and fixed it. Great customer service. The staff were friendly, and they have a great set of paths right outside the hotel for walking and viewing the beautiful Oregon beaches. I dinged it one star due to their "grab and go" breakfast. I waited in line for 10-15 minutes while a sole person handed out prepackaged items like bagels and cereal boxes. All I wanted was a bagel and an Apple which I finally got. Seems like this was anything but grab-and-go and I am not sure why it was staffed to simply hand you the items and make you wait. All in all, a nice place to stay and I would book there again. read more

We liked the ability to walk out the back and right on to the beach - and also enjoyed a bit of relaxing in the hot tub after dark. Our room was clean and had a wonderful view of the ocean from the window. (No balcony) The motel was a little dated and worn. There was a recliner in the room (nice addition) but, the arms were visibly warn and peeling. The toilet seat had a few spots where the paint had come off. In the restaurant, the tables have cloth runners to dress up the tables. I believe they serve another purpose, to cover part of the worn wooden edges of the table. Still, the room was comfortable and clean. The beach is a short walk away. That part is spectacular. read more

Our fireplace didn't work. At our request, maid did change towels and make the bed, but did not leave clean glasses or cups nor did they clean the bathroom. Disappointing. We love the Adobe ! Alot for sentimental reasons, because I worked there with my mom when I was young, and lived down the road. I love that there are people that visit from everywhere, and while we are waiting for dinner we get to talk about our experiences with tourists. There are some major changes happiness such as new owners. This makes us concerned that we may not be able to afford going there after 30 plus Years. We noticed the front desk staff were less attentive and put people on hold for a very long time. I didn't recognize them. The restaurant . They could use a more classy upbeat hostess. But the waitress (Dorthy) was absolutely ! She has been there 28 years and knows her stuff! Our steak was a bit expensive $42. We noticed they took a few of our favorites off the menu. To be able to sit in bed and watch the waves crash is sublime. The shoreline right outside the resort is very rocky so the waves break powerfully upon them for visual interest and so you can hear and feel them from inside your room. And that's why The Adobe Resort is my favorite place to stay on the Oregon coast, and has been for many years. They even light up some of the waves at night so you can keep watching after the sun goes down. I recommend the upper floors for the best view-from-bed and for privacy. On the ground floor you can stroll straight out of your room to the ocean, but in exchange you get a lot of strangers strolling past right outside your window. The upper story rooms don't have balconies but for the oceanfront rooms, the view is great anyway. I did once stay in a huge corner room overlooking the parking lot, and what it lacked in view it made up for in swank. That room was almost as big as my (admittedly small) house and way nicer, haha. I appreciate that the rooms are always super clean and everything in them is well-maintained. The staff are busy but helpful and they always take good care of us. The restaurant and other resort amenities are convenient. The doorframes and locks are very sturdy which makes me feel safe. Plus it's an easy walk south into Yachats, or north up the beautiful coastline. Delicious food options and magnificent natural features abound in the general area. My only complaints? Could be cheaper. Also the tap water tastes like gross city water. Not much to complain about in my opinion, for a luxury vacation spot. read more

Location is great, right on the ocean. Thats about the only positive thing I can say about this place. We brought our dog so we were put in the dilapidated pet building. The hallways stunk and there was pet hair in every inch of the carpet. We paid for an oceanfront room but only had a partial ocean view which is alright but should be advertised as partial. The customer service was absolutely horrible. Half the blinds in our room were broken and wouldn't close. We noticed this issue at night before going sleep (our first attempt at opening and closing the blinds after check-in). We called the front desk and they said that they KNEW that the blinds in this room "were an issue". We politely asked if we could switch rooms because it was going to be hard to sleep past sunrise with the blinds being broken. The lady we dealt with was horribly rude and unprofessional. She stated that if we had of told them earlier in the day that the blinds were broken--which she admitted they already knew--that we would have been able to switch. And that they would lose too much money if they gave us a new room. She also started ranting about how little money she makes at her job and that she would lose her job if she gave us a new room. Customer satisfaction should be your top priority and if doing so jeopardizes your job then you're working for the wrong company. The fact that they sold us a room knowing that the blinds were broken and then making it our problem because we didn't notice within the first few hours of our arrival is unacceptable!! We feel totally taken advantage by this place. Not to mention the hallways were stinky, the room felt dark and dirty, the bed and pillows were extremely uncomfortable, we had to body slam the front door for it to open, the balcony was covered in green mold and the entire 'resort' is outdated. TLDR: This place has motel 6 quality with a Westin price tag. It's not a resort. If you're looking for a clean, comfortable or modern resort you will not find it here. Stellar spot on the beach for storm watching! All rooms face the ocean. Upper floors might have a better view of the beach, but the bottom floor rooms have sliding glass doors to the outside. Can't go wrong with the rooms. It takes a while to get used to navigating the place, especially if you listen to the verbal directions of some of the staff who make it more complicated than it is. The building and elevators weren't laid out in an intuitive manner. The restaurant was a major disappointment... The special was prime rib...Yay! I'm in the mood! Sold out. What? It's not busy, why? Waitress said they sell out all the time. My question to the head chef is, why not plan better? You could sell a lot more. The drinks were HORRIBLE. Margarita was WAY overly sweet. Obviously a cheap mix and too much of it. The bloody mary tasted like cheap vodka, water, and tobasco sauce. Nasty. The food was meh. I don't understand how a place can have such a stellar location, where you would expect great food, and be so below par in the restaurant that it drags the whole place down enough to make me question returning. Sure, you can stay there and eat somewhere else, but the venue has such a great view from the dining room it's really sad the food and drink quality doesn't match the venue. read more
