We went here last year and I didn't want to return this year. My son said that it wasn't that bad last year. Well I believed him and we went for breakfast. Ugh. I could not even eat the pancakes. They tasted like they forgot an ingredient. They were heavy and tasted like cement. Lukewarm water for my "lipton" tea. Horrible and that is after waiting forever for our food. I should have spoke up but I didn't. Just paid for a horrible breakfast and now I will say - NEVER AGAIN. Betty's Kitchen truck was at Brimfield North in Deerfield today. We paid over $25 for two of the worst sausage, onion and pepper subs we have ever had. Wonderful breakfast place that brings you back years the minute you walk in. From the old counter and "vintage" license plates and bumps stickers this place screams "the good ole days" The local ads on the table tops made me smile knowing that I was in for a delicious breakfast . The cooks did not disappoint, the hash and the eggs were delicious the Texas toast was perfectly buttered and toasted and the service was second to none. Good place for breakfast, served anytime. Betty's Kitchen is open daily 5AM-2PM serving homecooked breakfast and lunch, early bird (5AM-8AM) and daily specials are offered. The clientele are mostly regulars, particularly an older crowd in the early AM. I stopped here for breakfast and I was offered coffee ($1.45) as I sat where I wanted to. The coffee was just right. The server/cook left the coffee carafe at the table, which I wish more places did. I ordered the Early Bird 1 Pancake & Ham Steak ($2.50) and a side of Home Fries ($1.75). The food came out in under 10 minutes. The pancake was big, a slightly rubbery texture and decent and filling. The grilled ham steak wasvery firm. The grilled home fries were slightly charred, but I really enjoyed this side tasting real fresh cut potatoes, not the deep fried version, The service was good too. Off to my class! read more

I have been coming to Betty's since 1981 and while it may not be everyone's cup of tea, it is one of my favorite breakfast places anywhere. I live in California but whenever I am within 50 miles I make the effort to come back for a hearty Hash Smash! The food is really good. And they have gone to great lengths to provide a satisfying meal without being too greasy and bad for you ... there is just enough! A few years back the ownership upgraded the interior and it remains very homey and clean. The staff are some of the friendliest people you would ever want to meet. Menu has plenty of options ... but don't look for cutting edge sections, just good, honest and sensible offerings. I love Betty's Kitchen, I hope you will too. read more

Always friendly greetings when you come through the door at Betty's Kitchen! Great home cooked meals. We enjoy breakfast at Betty's, especially on the weekends. We've never had a meal that wasn't delicious. You'll find you get a plateful of food here so no one ever leaves hungry! Bottomless pot of coffee and most other drinks have free refills as well. This morning my husband had the Veggie Omelet with toast and I had scrambled eggs, hash browns bacon and toast. Nothing left on our plates when we were done! In our pursuit of finding good breakfast places for when we get together in the Exeter area of NH, the three of us (my sister, BFF and I), were eager to find somewhere to replace the "just okay" meal we usually get at the truck stop in Greenland, NH before my sister and I depart for points north. When we were driving south on Route 1, after having had an unremarkable breakfast at Urban Farm Eatery, we noticed a gathering of cop cars at Betty's Kitchen, and decided to try it the next day - and boy, are we glad we did!! Both the building and the inside are unprepossessing in the extreme, but it's comfortable and clean. We were early - as usual - and told to seat ourselves. The menu is quite comprehensive, and they DO offer REAL maple syrup, which earns them points in my book. I had my usual - eggs, sausage (patties), and I tried a grilled blueberry muffin, too. Their potato choices are extensive, and they offer BOTH hash browns and tater tots!! So I had the tots, of course. My sister duplicated my order, except that she got an English muffin instead. My best friend will eat breakfast with us, but she'd prefer to have lunch for breakfast, and this place accommodates her!! She had a turkey club and fries. By the way, Betty's is literally just down the road from the place we were at yesterday, which I also reviewed, noting that Urban Farm Eatery's water was horrid. This place's water was FINE. And their coffee was GOOD. Our meals came quickly, and they were EXCELLENT. And one of the pros therein was that it wasn't a ton of food - except in the case of the turkey club, but my friend just took a box of it home to have for lunch. It was a just right amount. The eggs and sausage were good, the tots were FULLY COOKED - some places have a tendency to pull them out when they're really only partly cooked. These were nicely brown and crispy all around. The muffin was good - nothing special, but good. I would probably just go with the English muffin next time. And the waitress brought a little thing of butter with our orders, for my sisters English and my blueberry muffins. The waitress was attentive and friendly, and we were in and out of there in a very reasonable amount of time, and for an extremely good price - $9 for my meal, including tip. We found this place because every place we came to before it was packed, it didn't look like much from outside, but we were thrilled (and lucky) that they had a table big enough for 5 of us. Everything came out quickly It was great that we could get lunch or dinner, so 3 of us got breakfast, the pancakes were good and the bacon was cooked perfectly. My son got the bacon cheeseburger omelet and he was raving about good it was. The Reuben was so good! The portion of chicken tenders was big, it became 2 meals when we took it home. We went with a large party recently (8) and they had no problem splitting up checks, etc. Food still all came out together - hot and delicious. Portions are very large. I had a florentine omelette that was delicious, but next time I'd order it without the cheese. Spinach, mushrooms, artichokes, and tomatoes. Big enough to share and it came with toast and home fries, too! I believe they serve beer and wine, and I know you can order a bloody Mary (not sure if they have "all" alcohol on site, though). Prices are pretty average for a breakfast place. Good sized parking lot and easy to find. I've only been there on a weekend. I recommend giving it a try if you are in the seacoast area. read more
