The breakfast sandwich was on the dry side and could have used a little more moisture. Glad I was able to stop in before they closed for construction. They will be closed from Nov 18 to after Thanksgiving. They are open from 7-1:30 and closed on Tuesday's. Staff were very cheerful and very accommodating. I asked to sit at their bar that has seating for five. Great breakfast food and they have been serving breakfast and lunch for 40+ years here. From the coffee, to the eggs, hash browns, toast and biscuits and gravy. I mean yummy to the point where I didn't need lunch today!! Come in When they open back up with their new expansion. I regret to say that a recent visit was very disappointing. The waiter brought us our toast long before our breakfast so it was cold when we ate. The rest of the items were luke warm and while we ordered hash browns we were served home fries. The staff here was always friendly, polite, fun and professional but most of those folks are gone and some of the new employees should not be in the customer service business. While the additional space is nice, it is as cold as the out of place arctic photographs on the walls. read more

Service was great, food was great. HOWEVER. My friend and I were asked to leave 15 minutes after finishing our breakfast. The waitress had to yet to pick up our money and the manager asked us to leave after we finished our coffee because there wete two people waiting. Not to mention, there were tables all around us with patrons chit chatting. We were speechless. We will never go back. Very rude. I normally have a really good experience w the food here but from this last experience I learned never come here before closing.. I recommend this place except for an hour before closing.. all Our food was not like the times before we came here. Nothing was really cooked all the way. On the recommendation of a local business person we ended up at Contry View for brunch. The unassuming yellow building with a simple black awning opens to a homey café room with caricatures of workers and multiple awards hanging on the walls. Warm and friendly "seat yourself anywhere you like" greeted us. Colleen was our waitress. She was so attentive and personable to all her guests. Keep everyone laughing and happy. Brunch ordered was just about perfect in every detail. The sauces were homemade and complimented the dishes wonderfully. The hollendaise for the Benedict was some of the best I've ever tasted. The CVR French toast I ordered deconstructed. Three slices of thick french toast topped with Bavarian cream, kiwi, strawberries, bananas and blueberries & finished with whipped cream. Stopped in for breakfast with my nephew. Prices were average. Coffee was great. I ordered a California Bennie and so did my companion. It looked like they were doing a brisk take-out business. I was dismayed that the food was served on paper plates. I got different stories from 2 different waitresses as to why they were doing that, but I chalk it up to the Covid scamdemic once again where restaurants could cut back but still charge their regular prices; now that it is over they don't want to go back. The food was good, but the service was spotty as the place was busy and had the waitresses scrambling. I had an empty cup for way too long before I could catch the server's eye. It opens at 7 to get the working crowd and when we got there on Sunday at 7:15 it was half full. Great local ambience. I had a pretty good experience here while visiting the area for Christmas with family. We were there on a Sunday at around 11. The wait was about 40 minutes. Normally we would have left but my father in law said it would take 25-30 to go anywhere else so we just waited it out. By the time we sat down the place had a more manageable wait, not too many customers waiting, so it seems recommended to come before 9 or after 12. That said, the food was generally enjoyable. I took a chance on a poutine with poached eggs. I also ordered a side of bacon because I wanted more protein. The gravy was tasty. I wasn't too excited that they offered home fries on the side of my poutine. My husband thought this fine but I was like why would I want potato with a side of potato? So I asked for tomatoes on the side in lieu of home fries. My poached eggs were over cooked (bummer). The star of the meal was the coffee. It was excellent! I mean, the breakfast was tasty but I didn't love the wait, and it wasn't like the best breakfast ever, so I won't be running back. Generally enjoyable though. read more

About a month ago we received a voucher in the mail welcoming us to the neighborhood, which was for breakfast up to $15. Today was as good a day as any. The 5 stars is for food, service, location, and convenience. Located on Rt. 33 it couldn't have been any easier to find. On entering however, I felt like I'd just entered Trumpville because everybody was white, fat, and adorned themselves with cammo attire. One person even had it from head to toe, including his hat. I knew then that I did't even want to overhear anything that was going on. I just wanted to eat my free breakfast and mind my own business. It's a sit anywhere establishment and it was busy when we got there a little after 7. The server was very nice and once she found out we had the voucher, let me tell you. She was all over it. Coffee and refills flowed without asking and she made sure we were taken care of. I had the Veggie Omelet with fresh tomatoes, green peppers, onions & mushrooms. Each selection comes with home fries or hash browns & toast (includes choice of American, Cheddar, Swiss or Provolone cheese). I opted for the Provolone cheese and the oatmeal/molasses variety of toast. This was a solid standard breakfast and I have absolutely no complaints. He had the Eggs Benedict with hash browns and I did hear him say it was a little bland but good. After our meal the owner, Sandra, came by and boy, what a sweetheart she is. I'm telling you, the friendliness of their staff is awesome and it goes a long way in making a good meal better. They even state on the menu how friendly they are and they aren't lying. When she returned after running the card there was a 42 cent deficit and guess what. She said it was on her. In the end what it boils down to is we are going back and will continue to do so as long as it's a good thing. Believe me, this is a good thing and we are so there. read more

Wonderful. Tiny place but worth the wait. Super friendly staff. You could tell by the conversations a lot of locals on repeat visits. I had the crab cake bennies. Soooooo good. Perfectly poached eggs. Good hollandaise sauce and so much crab!
