This is an adorable little bar restaurant that has creative dishes and drinks. They have creative mocktails (for adults) and non alcoholic beers, which is very inclusive. The regular cocktails were unique and you can tell there is passion behind the creations. Small, intimate staff but they are able to be attentive. Vibe is a big cajun as you'll find quite a few dishes you might otherwise see in Louisiana. We had to try the salmon as the chef explained it was a seasonal salmon that was special ordered from Alaska and it was very tender. We had it raw, as the cooked dish is apparently just as delicious. We had 2 kids with us, as there is a children's menu but the place is still a good date spot and our kids were behaved so it was quiet. We were there on a Sunday night and it was not busy, so I'd recommend that night to go. read more

I was really optimistic looking at the reviews. When I arrived the chef was at the door. He was very personable. The place was pretty empty. One couple towards the back and a group for a birthday. He was kinda of harassing them about the rest of their party arriving. I order an espresso martini which nice. The chef did coming over introduce himself and talk about the menu. I started with the fried artichoke which was tasty. I was trying to figure out what else i wanted. I ordered the cup of gumbo. Once I saw it i looked back at the Yelp review and that is when I saw the health score. Not sure how i missed it. I immediately knew i was leaving. The icing on the cake was when the chef came out to announce the kitchen was close to turn over for dinner. He sat in the front of the restaurant coughing and sneezing. I was done. Mama gave me a salmon chip and WHOA... crunchy, salty, yummy! I wanted more but Mama said 'share.' We had brunch and it was pretty good--lots of tasty bites and I got to sit like a big kid. They even gave me colors so I could draw while I waited (I made a masterpiece). The people were nice, and the tables were perfect for sneaking food off Mama's plate. My date ordered the French Onion soup. It was ok but unfortunately it was a little bland. I enjoyed the Paloma cocktail and my meal was the cod and I subbed potatoes and mushrooms as opposed to the risotto and market fresh vegetables. The vegetables were delicious. The cod was prepared really well but there was a lack of flavor. Overall meal was decent, the service was good, and the ambiance was warm and inviting. Everyone enjoyed their food, but I did find the prices overall a little steep for what was being offered. Potential - that is what this place has, it's good but needs some work. Appetizers: The BBQ shrimp was a great start on taste. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and the flavors were excellent. This would have been a perfect start but it included two tiny, and I mean tiny, pieces of toasted baguette. Why go cheap on bread of all things? We tried the artichoke fritters too and they were pretty good, lightly fried with good sauce but nothing we'd go back for just to get. The BBQ shrimp is worth going back for and we will. Soups & Salad: I had a cup of the gumbo and it was stellar. It was loaded with the proteins and the roux was just right. My wife had the signature salad and really enjoyed it. Main course: This made me wish I would have stuck with the appetizers, there were several that sounded interesting. Because I did well with the cajun type dishes, I decided to try the red snapper etouffee. Well, that and the fact the server hadn't tried most of the food and couldn't give me a recommendation based on taste. Anyway, the dish wasn't served warm and the fish just wasn't that good. After the great apps and soup, it was a major let down. Desserts: Despite being the first customers of the day, they said they ran out of the dessert we wanted, limoncello creme brulee. Another let down because I knew when I saw it on the menu it was a must have. Lastly, the servers need to be trained on how to pronounce the wine grapes they serve. We started off with cocktails. There were four of us and we each got something different. After a few minutes of conversation and enjoying our drinks, we placed our order with our server Elan. Two people ordered the salmon specials, one ordered the chicken and gnocchi special, and I ordered the flat iron salmon. Honestly, everything on the menu looked delicious. When the food arrived, it didn't disappoint! Each of us were complimenting about our individual dish and then we tasted each others. Lots of flavor and very good. The chef stopped by our table and we raved to him about how good the food was and our how great our server Elan was. We decided to get the strawberry shortcake dessert and the lemoncello crème brûlée. The strawberry shortcake was delicious and was made from a homemade biscuit. The crème brûlée was good, but not as good as the shortcake! We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and we will definitely recommend this place to our friends. The ambience was great. The Alchemist Kitchen is a true gem! The food was a delight to the pallet and the cocktail offerings were unique and delicious! This was our first time visiting, and the goal was to try this spot out as a possible venue for my parents' birthday gathering. Our host asked Chef Ken to come out to talk about the menu and available food choices for the date of our event. He was very gracious and made sure that we also met with Beth the General Manager to firm up plans for our party. Now to the food: We started with cocktails- expresso martini, and margarita - they set the tone that more great things were to come! Non alcohol offerings were also available. The artichoke fritters were next. Perfectly flashfried and accompanied by a very tasty aioli. A bowl of gumbo was selected for our entree after Chef Ken talked about his process for making the rue. It did not disappoint! It has a rich dark rue, and the chicken andouille really rounded the overall flavor perfectly! We also ordered fish and chips and a crab cake sandwich to go for later. 5/12/2024. First and only visit. The decor was nice. The greeting was prompt and friendly. The waiter was informative and accommodating to my picky eater son. BUT the food was terrible and the "chef" had to be corrected. My daughter and son-in-law made reservations for Mother's Day, I researched reviews and the menu. I decided that the food would not be great, but the menu had a few simple items I could order to avoid a bad, expensive meal. WRONG special Mother's Day menu. UHOH I chose the red snapper etouffee with crawfish for the lower price. Big mistake, it was mostly inedible. First bite was etouffee and it was overly salted, had to heavily dilute with the rice, which was the only truly edible item on the plate. The fish was possibly the worst ever served to me, extremely fishy with a chemically aftertaste that extended into my nostrils. I scraped off the skin and brown gunk to try for just white meat, but it did not improve the taste. 2 bites was all I could handle. The waiter asked "chef" about cooking a steak for my son. My son said the ribeye was ok, but not great and definitely not worth the premium price. Son-in-law ordered the veal. He made it to about 5 bites before pushing the food away. He explained that the over seasoning combined with the mushrooms made a bitter mouthful. Daughter found her duck to be moist and edible, but not notable, her asparagus was good but not the sweet potato? smear. The "chef" came out and picked up my dish and said, "your not going to eat the crawfish? Aw your just afraid". I looked him in the eye and said, "I'm from New Orleans, I am not afraid". He walked away. Pretty sure he knew what I thought of his cooking. Got the mound of ribeye fat doggie bagged for the pup and skeedaddled. Chicken 65 & New Orleans BBQ Shrimp are not my favorite. The artichoke fritters are top tier, the red snapper is to die for. The power salad is delicious They haven't had the mussels each time I've visited, but I'd love to try them. The 3 chefs I've met are absolute gems. Our server was one of the owners, he provided great recommendations and was attentive to every detail. It was a treat! Menu featured a wide range of high end offerings and is priced accordingly. Most of the items we ordered did not disappoint. We started with a smoked old fashioned and a side car cocktails, and both were excellent. Hubby tried the gumbo and liked it, although having family from Louisiana he noted it was not traditional. We also shared the wagyu beef carpaccio, which was lovely, and splurged on oysters with caviar.. I have to say, it was worth it. The oysters are served with just a small lemon wedge and rightly so, the caviar balanced the oysters perfectly, and any horseradish or mignonette would have overpowered the delicate taste. For mains we had the fillet and muscles. Hubby's filet was over, but as soon as he cut into it, our server noticed and immediately asked to take the plate back. The filet was very good once redone, but the rest of the plate was not up to par. The potato salad was drastically under salted and a bit undercooked. Veggies were barely blanched and almost raw. Now, don't get me wrong, I like my veggies al dente, but in this case, Hubby had a hard time cutting through the baby carrot with a knife. The muscles on the other hand stole the show! I could take a bath in that sauce! And I will definitely make time to come back just for that dish alone! So i gave it a try. Kept an open mind. Tried to stay positive during the entire experience and left with a 2 star review. Let's start with the elephant in the room. This is PTC, not NYC. If you are going to charge what you are changing you better offer service and quality that reflects the price the consumer will pay. Unfortunately, that's not the case. The menu is divers for a small town restaurant, but it is lacking in quality and presentation. Other members in my party complained about the cocktail not having enough Vodka in it and tasting like Capri Sun lemonade. Another complaint was the quality of the lettuce. I noticed other patrons shared the same problem. The mussels were tasty according to our guest. The wine, overpriced, just like pretty much everything else on the menu. The worst part of the evening was the incredible noise emitted by the larger party behind us. Truly disturbing, but makes sense in a large open space with tiles etc. To add insult to injury the owner drew attention to 2 birthday guests tables by whistling super loudly (like you would try to call your dog on your acre lot) - i am sorry, but this is not a very civilized way to get the attention of your guests (unless you think of us as dogs :) I felt relieved when i left the restaurant confirming my suspicion: not worth my money. I ordered an Oktoberfest special (chicken with mashed potatoes and red cabbage) and it was Delicious! My friends ordered the salmon and said it was delicious too. Our server was very friendly. I'm in the area on a fairly regular basis and was told about this charming restaurant. There is no sign out front so very much a word of mouth, local's place. I learned from my excellent, attentive host that the restaurant had only been open a few months. I've now visited twice with every selection delicious and beautifully presented.
