I ate dinner here with a friend yesterday. The food tasted great but sadly the Curious Pig messed up just about everything else that goes into one's dining experience. It's always sad to me when this happens, because in my opinion having great food is the hard part. Seeing them excel in that but fail the easy stuff is hard :( What they struck out on: - host and hostess chatting when we walked up, they seemed to be complaining about something. We didn't receive any smiles. Didn't feel like they wanted to be there. Yes I understand it's a job, but warm welcomes are important and they are the first impression for a customer when they walk in. - It was 80 degrees and dreadfully humid outside since it had been raining. They had the doors open and I didn't see or feel any fans or air conditioning running. I saw a patron using a hand fan while we ate. - Since there was no air conditioning running, all the steam from the dishwashing and cooking in the kitchen came out to the dining area and lingered in the air the entire time we ate. We thought it was smoke at first but it didn't have a smell, when we walked out to leave I felt the steam leaving the kitchen area - Unbearably loud. I'm not sure why the acoustics are so bad but there is just nothing absorbing any noise. All the ruckus just echoes. Pretty sure this was mainly due to the tables being somewhat close together and the chairs having no sound buffers. It was suuuper loud when people got up to leave and when bussers were cleaning the tables. - Out of the fried green tomatoes which we were excited to order. - I ran out of water while eating. My drink didn't get filled until maybe 10-15 mins later. - Our waitress was running around, very busy. We didn't get checked on that much. It wasn't her fault. She was very courteous and was working hard. They seemed to not have enough staff on hand. - The napkins shed everywhere? When I opened my napkin a cloud of lint came up from it. It was all over my black shorts when we left. - Ends of the tables were all scratched up. - Decor is a bit of a hodgepodge. Having fake candles at each table for a place that gives southern farmhouse is an interesting choice. - The pimento cheese plate came with only 5 mini pieces of toast. We had to ask for more which was an upcharge. There's no way all the pimento cheese could be eaten on 5 pieces. Their home runs: - The food was amazing. I really liked the steak frites. I ordered the steak medium. It was nice and tender. The fries were seasoned and crispy. The chimichurri sauce was great. My friend and I both liked the pimento cheese and the bread that it came with. We weren't crazy about the house pickles. My friend loved her caesar salad. - The prices are great. Super affordable for high quality food. - Menu is expansive. - We had no wait to be seated. - No trouble parking. Location is convenient. As you can see, the list of cons is very very long. It was truly an odd thing to experience, since the place had such great food. I'm thinking the Curious Pig needs a restaurant management consultant or something? We might try this place again sometime later. We'll see. read more

We went right when they opened on a Sunday and glad we did because it filled up the server was great and super kind! We ended up having to wait extra long because the biscuits had gotten burnt and had to be remade. They gave us a complimentary appetizer to make up for it. Stopped in here around 1 p.m. on a Saturday for a quick lunch and got seated immediately. It was quiet and a nice ambiance. Service was great and very attentive (almost too attentive). The food was absolutely delicious, especially the tater tot appetizer. We also had the mother clucker and the chicken fried steak. ORDER IT! $12 THE MOTHER PUCKER: also delicious, served in a very tiny glass, must sip slow to make last. Almost like a large shot. lol $12 PEACHTREE BANGER: fan favorite! Light & refreshing. Has Georgia written all over it. FOOD (3/5): The food is great sometimes and other times mediocre. I still really like this place, but it's not super consistent on the quality. $15 NASHVILLE HOT CHICKEN: this threw me off because it was more of a spicy BBQ sauce? It was very spicy, but I loved it! Just warning for others who might have a lower spice tolerance. Slightly too much sauce and I'm a sauce person. $2 (UPGRADED SIDE) BRUSSELS SPROUTS: these were slightly crispy but soft on the inside. Standard Brussels. SERVICE (5/5): We always come in a big group and I must say service is PHENOMENAL! I'd been here before a couple times for brunch and lunch and with large groups but this was just two people for dinner. We had the pork rind nachos to start. holy moly was it great. tangy, spicy, crunchy, salty. yum. then we split the pork chops over the grits (they added cheese for us) and that was also incredible. the food was just great. our server and the staff were young and very informative - Caden was our server, nice job Caden. The place is listed as a gastropub and i've never thought of it as such, and i suppose in some ways the food is but its so much better, and the atmosphere is definitely NOT that. It sort of made me laugh to actually see a LOT of babies there...their parents were there too - it just wasn't a bunch of babies having a night on the town. As a parent myself, it was nice to see families out with their kids and the kids were all pretty darn well behaved. All in all, VERY well done Curious Pig. I shall return. read more

The service and food were fantastic. Make sure to try the cabbage and the Brussels sprouts appetizers. Several in our large party said they were the best they ever had. The pork chops and country fried steak were also big hits. The corn bread was not exceptional but still very good. Not everything stood out as great but certainly nothing we had stood out as bad. It was all a decent value as well. We had a couple folks in our party who are very thrifty, always looking for a deal, and vocal when they don't feel like they are getting a value. Weird twist on BBQ. The house tots were good. The drinks were good. The side salad was good. The short rib sandwich was two chunks of short rib on a big sub roll with some uncooked onion topping. If you are looking for something different, you'll probably like this place. If you want regular bbq, I suggest going elsewhere. read more

My friend brought me here for brunch as soon as it opened on a Sunday morning. It was a nice quiet time to stop in. Our cocktails were delicious and refreshing. My wife and I visited The Curious Pig on Friday, 12/19, around 5:30 PM. We were seated fairly quickly, and our server was polite and knowledgeable about the menu, though the food was significantly oversold compared to what was delivered. The first disappointment was the lack of bottled water--sparkling or still. The tap water tasted strongly of faucet water, which set an unfortunate tone from the start. We began with the Miso Bacon Brussels Sprouts and the Pork Belly Panzanella. The Brussels sprouts were drenched in vinegar, lacked Parmesan shavings, and--despite the name--contained no bacon. When we asked the server, he brought out bacon bits that appeared to come from a bag, which did not improve the dish. The Pork Belly Panzanella was just okay. The cornbread had great flavor, but for a restaurant called The Curious Pig, the pork belly should have been the star. Instead, there were only two very small pieces--about the size of a dime--which was disappointing. For dinner, we ordered the Brisket Board and the sliced pork belly. The brisket was dry, chewy, and poorly cooked, arriving room temperature to cold. The pulled pork was also cold when it reached the table. We alerted both the server and the manager, and they brought out three wings as a courtesy. Ironically, the wings were the best item on the board. They had great flavor, though they could have benefited from more smoking, as we noticed some pink areas in the meat. The BBQ sauce was good, but the board was absolutely not worth the $40 price point. The sliced pork belly should be renamed thick-cut bacon. It was not pork belly at all--just bacon slices no thicker than what you'd find at a grocery store. Overall, I was honestly surprised and disappointed. The food looks great in photos, but what is served does not match the presentation or expectations. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this establishment based on our experience. To spend $130+ on dinner with this experience is not worth it. read more

This place is a diamond in the middle of nowhere. What a great bourbon selection. It is a cozy place with strung patio lights outside. Prices were reasonable. The service was good. I was seated at the bar and began to look at the bourbon selection. I wouldn't have guessed this for this spot. What a nice surprise. The fries were top notch. The bartender recommended the crab cake sandwich. This was not my favorite, but also not really my style of food, but I try and go with the recommendation. Neat little gem. read more

The meat was supposedly chopped ribeye but was full of fat and connective tissue. The bread was soaked in grease and taste like every food that was cooked on the griddle. Stopped in for a quick lunch while exploring Peachtree City. We ordered the cornbread and pork belly as appetizers. The wife had steak and eggs and I had the classic breakfast of eggs, bacon, grits and toast. Pork belly was tasty, but the star of the dish is the "crying pig sauce"! Amazing, think sweet rice wine vinegar, cilantro, onion, garlicky goodness that you want drink after you run out of pork belly. It was that good. The star of my breakfast was the grits. If you have read any of my reviews you know I absolutely love grits and try them every where. These are noteworthy, perfect consistency and creamy. The steak is a filet, super tender and delicious, fries are fresh cut and tasty. The restaurant was very clean and ambiance was nice. The only downside was service. While our waiter was fantastic, he was running between a lot of tables and it took almost thirty minutes to get the apps. Lunch wasn't far behind and was hot when served but the time seemed a bit much which is the reason for the 4 stars. I would give 4.5 if I could. We will be back! read more

This is the first bad review I have ever written. I am sorry to say for Mothers Day I took 6 ladies to have Mothers Day Brunch and one of my lady guest we wanted to honor as a bride to be. We were very excited about this brunch. 3 of the guest drove over an hour to be with us. It was Horrible! We were of the first to arrive and got our food 2 hours later. Others were served long before arrived later. Food was all cold! Coffee was horid! Nothing was comped. It should have been. They offered 10% discount. We didn't eat much of it but after nothing to eat looking forward to this meal some ate a little to be polite I think. Extremely disapointed. Embarrassed that I brought them there raving about how good it will be. Unfortunite that It messed up the beginning of our Mother's Day plans that took up half the day! I am sure it must be better normally but Mother's day/Bride's day should have been special not a complete disasster. Entire 6 meals should have been comped! Because of this, I some of us at least will never return to pay tooo much for cold food after a 2 hour wait for it. This needed to be said. I would not recommend Curious Pig due to this experience. Appologizing for recommending this place to my family was embarassing to say the least! read more

Quality has really gone down. Ordered mussels and we received a bowl with 5 mussels for $12. Expecting a bowl full with enough for three to share. Ordered Waygu Steak for $32 and received 6 thin slices of steak. The majority of the plate was fries. The service was slow as it look at least 15 minutes to get a Dr. Pepper for my son. Unfortunately we will never return with these prices we expect more and were shocked because we have been here several times and enjoyed it. read more
