I pay cash because we are having one more and moving on. Never happens. I think we were here 3 hours last trip. Such friendly staff and patrons. Watching football n chopping it up. We probably spent maybe $30 drinking the Saturday afternoon away, made new friends. No food here so we end up leaving when we start starving and then end up coming back for a nightcap. Don't let the hole in wall appearance fool you. Worth the stop on your next trip.

I am currently at Alibi. It is about 4 am, I just got off of work, and I was so impressed by the patience and professionalism of the staff. There was a group of maybe 15 people in the bar, and Eileen and Ken handled them with so much patience. They are definitely better humans than I am. One of the ladies in the group was trying to sleep at a table, and it was explained to the group by multiple people apart from the employees, that the bar can get fined it that's allowed. They proceeded to argue with staff, even attempting to get physical about it, and refused to leave. The bar staff remained polite and professional, despite the insults and treatment. It was definitely a potentially volatile situation, but it was de-escalated and handled so incredibly well. I am writing this in case anyone in that group has the nerve to complain, because they threatened they would leave bad reviews. I doubt they'll remember anyway, lol. read more

He ordered the exact same drink and was charged only $8, and his chips were just $1. Since this is a cash-only establishment, there was no receipt to explain the difference, which made the situation even more frustrating. Whether it was an honest mistake or something else, customers deserve consistent pricing and transparency. Charging different customers different prices for what appears to be the same order is not acceptable. I decided to give the place another chance and returned the following day. During my visit, I observed the same bartender going in and out of the restroom with a man while she was working. Regardless of the circumstances, it did not come across as professional and made me uncomfortable as a customer. I wanted to like this place because New Orleans has so many great neighborhood dive bars with character, but this one was a disappointment. Between the inconsistent pricing, the lack of transparency in a cash-only business, and the unprofessional atmosphere I experienced, I left feeling like I couldn't trust the establishment. Management should take these concerns seriously, review the pricing practices, and ensure employees are maintaining professional standards while on the clock.
