My opinion has changed. It seems food quality and service here is hit or miss, and my coworkers and I have keep experiencing misses. Most recently due to the lackluster and overpriced Atlantic Salmon (skip that). I'm assuming this variance depends on who's working, because service and food have been good when Jason (one of the managers) is there. I still recommend the Short Rib (though the mashed potatoes taste like they're from a box). And the french fries are good. Would return if i was in a pinch but not my first choice. read more

This is my third time here in eight months and I live 120 miles away. Alloy has become my favorite Battle Creek restaurant because of the awesome wood-fire pizza. It is the best I have ever had. A friend was with me this time and he thought it was amazing as well. We sat at the pizza bar and watched Michael prepare and bake our pizza. We received great service. The restaurant has a nice vibe and is extremely clean. We then ordered another pizza to take with us. There are lots of other options on the menu that we would enjoy. If I still lived in Battle Creek, I would be eating at Alloy often. I highly recommend this excellent dining choice. read more

I love going into a restaurant and being able to tell that they're glad you're there - that kind of hospitality means so much. I love their pizzas, the club sandwich, the bacon jam burger, but today I had a simple grilled cheese and a cup of house-made tomato soup... which was the ultimate comfort food and didn't feel heavy or greasy. Want to support new and local things but I can't let others waste money. Went on a Thursday. Only two tables had people at them. Three servers, a bar tender, a pizza chef, a manager and even more staff. Would have thought we could be treated like royalty. Waited to be seated, asked questions of the menu that the server had no clue about. Was happy hour so we got apps and the pizzas. The oven is in view and looked very nice. None of the apps were good and two were downright inedible. The spinach artichoke dip was a runny soup consistency and served with potato chips?? The Parmesan on the knots and fries was a strange powder with no flavor. The knots were hard as rocks. And when it came with only pesto and we asked for the marinara, the server wanted to see the picture of the knots on the menu to prove they were supposed to come with marinara. It was so awkward. The pizzas came and flavors were pretty good but one was almost completely black on the bottom. Needed help with something, server hadn't been to table in 15 minutes so we said excuse me to a group just hanging and chatting and felt that we interrupted them. We could have asked for refunds or something but was just so disappointed that she didn't even notice that over half of our food was uneaten, and the burnt pizza was sitting there. Just disappointing all around. Gave them two stars because the place is very nice looking inside and the pizza has some quality to it. read more

Stayed at the Double Tree by Hilton, decided to have breakfast here. We arrived around 11 am, wasn't too busy. The menu is presented on a small electronic device with photos of each dish. Sadly, the actual dishes were not close to the photographs. Mediocre food. The only toast choices were English muffin or wheat, I opted for the muffin, and requested it to be crispy, the waitress called it 'well done'. When the food arrived the muffin was warm, not toasted, so she said I'll re-do that. She brought it back when we were finished eating, burnt (black charred) -comical really. I had steak and eggs, the steak was flavorful but chewey, eggs you can't really mess up, potatoes were good, my husband's burrito was just ok, but coffee not so much. Prices are too high for the quality. Wouldn't eat there again. However the bar/restaurant on the top floor of the hotel is top notch! read more

We went for breakfast on Black Friday. The bacon onion jam in the omellete and on the outside was excellent. The avocado toast had rea whole avocado sliced on top and delicious burratta. Best hotel breakfast I have ever had. Would recommend as a breakfast for non hotel guests. Very friendly waitstaff. read more

We went to Alloy today for lunch. I had the chicken tenders. They were horrible. Burnt and dried out. They took them back and told me they changed the recipe and that's how they were. We had them 2 months ago and they were so good. Waitress said they changed the recipe. Horrible. read more

The food was simply amazing! We ordered six different meals at the table, and all of them were delicious. However, the service was absolutely terrible. Our server, Marissa, was a miserable person working in a customer service job, and she took that attitude out on us every chance she got. I've never left a restaurant without leaving a tip, but this time I did, even though it was hard to do. Marissa deserved it! read more

So disappointed with The Alloy Restaurant! Went there for the first time this past weekend with. Group of friends. I was served the wrong food, so they replaced it. It didn't arrive, however, until all of my friends were done eating. And then, later in the evening, I discovered that the waitress charged MY card for four other meals, debiting over $200 from MY account. Thankfully I was still in the building so I went right back and the assistant manager assured me that they would make it right. Well three days later, I still don't have my money back and have spoken to several other managers who told me that it would be fixed right away. But here we are. Do better, Alloy. That customer service is terrible. The mistake was YOURS and you should have been bending over backwards to make it right. $200 may not seem like a lot to you but it's way more than I had to spare. We will never frequent this restaurant again and I will be warning all of my friends and family of this as well. read more
