Naked Hot Wings with soft not crispy skin
    Tiffany V.

Our overall experience left us with no desire to be back. We ordered hot wings and the waitress never asked if I wanted them breaded or naked. Thankfully my husband reminded me so I could tell her naked. She also didn't ask if we wanted dipping sauce my husband also reminded me so I ordered blue cheese and ranch. When they were served they were hot but the skin on them was not crispy it was "stretchy/soft/slimy". This might be how you cook them but I was certainly expecting crispy skin on the wings. I will not order them again and wings are one of my favorite things to order! We ordered waters for all of us, a mule for myself and a lemonade for 1 daughter ($2.99). Our girls both had kids spaghetti and meatballs from the kids menu. I think it was plural on the menu but I don't have a picture of the menu. Either way it had 1 meatball and maybe the menu did say spaghetti and meatball. The menu says it comes with applesauce and pop. Neither of them were served or offered applesauce. Maybe it doesn't come with the spaghetti? Our bill never had the $2.99 lemonade taken off once a kid meal was ordered. Maybe it is an additional $2.99 for lemonade instead of a Pop but the menu isn't clear? My burger was cooked medium like I ordered so kudos for that!! The fries served with it were warm at best and soft/soggy. Everyone at the table tried them, agreed they were undercooked and we did not finish them. My husband ordered the Joe EBA (we loved all pizzas from Fricanos so we had some high hopes with this one). He is determined the cheese is different than the previous Fricanos cheese so it seemed to taste different. The bottom was brown as if it was cooked long enough but either there was too much grease on the toppings or it took too long to come out. Thin crust pizza typically stands up and this just flopped over and the bottom side was wet and shiny. It took our waitress a very long time to come back and actually offer us our bill. We were never offered a refill on any of our drinks nor asked how our food was or if we needed anything else. She came back to the table next to us and I had to ask her for silverware and napkins. I did take our receipt with us which is how I realized we paid $2.99 for lemonade I thought was "free"/included in her kids meal. Tip included we spent $90 and were not impressed. The restaurant has no changed from it being Fricanos. Everything about it remained the same except the staff and the menu.

Opening Day! August 1, 2024. Atmosphere looked the same other than a couple changes. Friendly Hostesses, Servers were still learning the ropes and food was taking more time to ensure freshness and accuracy! Drinks were a little unsure, but after a bit, finally got some that were tasty! We tried their Caesar Salad, Beef Skewer (my fave) and Sirloin Steak! I might suggest a smaller steak portion! We will defenitely be back to try it out again, after they have worked out some quirks!

Pizza was same as Fricano's! Amazing! Gumbo was also good. Wait staff was efficient and friendly. So glad they opened! We will be back.

Food and service were amazing. We came with a group of 8 and ordered multiple items: chicken alfredo, beef & chicken skewers, gumbo, and a brownie for dessert. All of the items came out quickly, had great presentation, and tasted amazing. Our server Collin was friendly and knowledgeable. We will definitely be coming back here.

Great neighborhood spot for pizza and gumbo. Sadly, the decor could use a facelift. Friendly staff.

Presentation - 10/10 Taste & Flavor - 10/10 When getting food here you can get a good variety of spicy and savory especially when it comes to their burgers their drinks are made with much care. Nothing is too overpowering Portion Size - 10/10 I have a very small stomach so things tend to fill me up regardless however my husband is an endless pit and the burger seemed to fill him up for the time being. Value for your money? I would say you get a good value and a full meal for the price you're going to pay You get good service especially on a Sunday when there's only a very few people in there and you're just trying to relax. ‍ Service - 10/10 The service in overall 10 out of 10 The bartender was extremely friendly kept a decent conversation going & greeted us when we entered, most of the staff is college students so you know they're working hard when it comes to both school and being servers. We chose Brick and Brine to celebrate a very special Anniversary!…read more Brick and Brine provided us with an absolutely phenomenal dining experience!! Our dinner stretched out over a nearly 3 hour time period, but felt like it flew by at the same time! Never rushed, but intentional and SO enjoyed!! Our waiter was fabulous and made sure that our every need (and want!) was met. He went over and above for us and we loved every moment!! I wish I had gotten his name to mention here! We started our evening browsing the cocktail menu. The offerings are vast! We ordered two different kinds of old fashioned options, always a favorite! One had very unique twist and arrived on fire/smoking! The drink continued to have a smoke effect, but this did not highly alter the flavor! It was delicious and fun! "It adds drama" is how our waiter put it, and he was right! :) It was called "Fire House No. 4". Next we perused the appetizer section. The choices were excellent and we landed on the meatballs, going off of recommendations and previous experience! For meatballs, they were indeed quite delicious but if I'm being completely honest I don't think I'd choose them again. I would venture out a little more. The scallops came highly recommended by our waiter. Also highly recommended was the steak tartare! After our appetizer we ordered a wedge salad. This was wonderful! It mimics what you'd traditionally expect from a wedge salad - this one served with multiple small wedges of iceberg lettuce - but the toppings elevate so nicely! Bleu cheese, the most delicious marinated tomatoes, pickled red onions, and the best, most flavorful chunks of bacon! This was a favorite!! It was finally time to decide on entrees. This was tough! There are many choices I'd like to try and we will definitely be back to try some more. Because this was a special meal and we had heard very good things, both of us ordered the ribeye steak. This is a large piece of meat that arrived with mouthwatering presentation. While the flavors were most definitely evident of a quality piece of meat, I would personally not choose this exact entree again. The meat was well cooked, and done to my requested level, but arrived not very warm. I like my food hot and while I acknowledge that a fine steak presentation likely requires a rest time, my own opinion is put off when I feel like my food is in any way on the cold side. I did not complain about this - and it doesn't affect my rating, but it is worth noting and something I'd like to know when making a decision for ordering! Other entrees that I saw coming out around me that I am SO very interested in trying on a future visit were the fried chicken (WOW! The presentation on this dish is NEXT level!) and the salmon! Everything I saw coming to nearby tables looked quite stunning and I'd quite honestly like to try each dish from their menu! ;) This place is quality, it is very evident! We paired our dinner entree with two side items. The side items are large, intended to serve multiple people. We chose the crispy fingerling potatoes and the Brussels sprouts. Both were perfection! We loved them! The Brussels sprouts had SO much flavor! Even the leftovers the next day were so delectable! We finished our meal with the most exceptional dessert! It was a hard decision but we chose the Chocolate Hazelnut Flourless Torte! AMAZING! It was served with an orange creamsicle ice cream which sounds like a strange accompaniment for these flavors but it fit so very well with the dish. The hazelnut crémeux on the side was also exceptional - just a really great dessert, all around! Alongside our dessert we ordered an elevated espresso that was absolute perfection! One of THE best dessert cocktail beverages I have ever had! I highly recommend this either as your dessert or as an accompaniment! So, so good! Even though there were a couple of things during this meal that I personally would not choose to order again, everything was still superb! I can't choose any less than five very deserved stars!! This was such a great experience at a very fine, local, Kalamazoo restaurant!! Be prepared to spend some five star dollar amounts, but also be prepared to receive a five star, not just meal, but entire experience!! ;)
