I went in like a lost little kid and Wale at Jojayden settled me down and assured me he would take great care of me and everything would be fine. When I say that things went well beyond 'fine' it is a true understatement. I have been married over a month now and I am still getting compliments on my custom tux and how awesome I looked in it. Every man at my wedding gave me the 'you DID this' nod as well as told me how original the tux was! My wife looks at our wedding photos and says over and over 'You was CLEAN!'. Sadly, I will not be patronizing this business due to the extremely rude service (or lack of) and disinterested staff. Upon entering the store I inquired about the location of the childrens shoes. One of the employees directed me to the back of the store. After spending several minutes browsing shoes with my little ones in tow NOT ONE of the THREE female employees offered assistance. Two of the sales associates were literally two to three feet away from me. Apparently, the one closest was the manager! I mean she was a couple of arms length away from me and definitely within earshot when my son and I decided on a pair for him to try on. A couple of things, it was the middle of the day, store was completely empty of customers and the employees were folding clothes and doing other inventory related activities. So, I call out while holding the shoe and ask if we "could we see this shoe"? The manager to my left never even glances over. The employee facing us folding clothes briefly looks up at us and then looks back down and continues to fold. I don't know what the third female employee does. But, it was certainly not an offer of assistance. I ask if anyone is working the sales floor. But, then I decide why should I beg someone for assistance to SPEND money in their establishment. On my way out I inquire about the manager and that is one of the employees points at the woman who had been standing closest to me! I believe her name might have been Tasha? I express my disappointment with the services and treatment I had experienced. She barely acknowledged my concerns and dryly says well "what do you want". Well, I never... I promptly took my son to the Foot Locker about six blocks north and to New Balance a few blocks south where I purchased a pair of sneakers for him (will try to attach pic) from each store. The messed up thing is that my husband recommended this store as it was where my MIL purchased not one but two pair of Air Jordan shoes for my kids two months earlier. It was sold out at every Foot Locker location in Chicago, in two major nearby cities and even online. I found an article that mentioned Mr. Alan's in Michigan still had them. Lo and behold, Mr. Alan's had recently expanded into the Chicagoland area. I called this location; they had the shirt in the size I wanted, so I dashed over. Mr. Alan's is like a Foot Locker on steroids; I'd say kind of similar to the House of Hoops in that they have lots of premium apparel. All of the well-known, most interesting, and unique activewear brands are sold here. Also, lots of Chicago-based gear from hockey, baseball (both teams), to basketball and football. I went in for a $40 long-sleeved t-shirt and left having also bought a Nike zip-up hoodie and some sick Nike Air Max 270's. The staff is so friendly, even the security guard there was pleasant. I think I shocked him when I was taking pictures outside; I was taking pics to post on Yelp not casing the joint. Whether looking for the exclusives or just want a better shopping experience, Mr. Alan's is it!

Always wanted Sunflower by Arden and couldn't leave at store for $10.99. I also saw some White Diamonds perfume for sale which was a big hit back in the day.

They are excepting returns/exchange which is great because the knife set I picked up was not in the best condition. SN: The return/exchange line is seperated from each other. Now for the important part you have to wear a mask, social distantings is in place but some customers don't follow the rules. They have hand sanitizer in the front of the store and there was one at my register. They only allow a certain amount of people in the store at a time and they wipe down the carts. The dressing room is closed but you can return for now if it doesn't fit. The employees I interacted with very nice and with the two I talked to you could see their smile through their mask...I mean one of them did have a mask with a smile imprinted on it but was only a positive. I know people want some type of normal and with all the stress of what is going on in the world, I found myself enjoying my experience. Thank you Ross and the employees. As always Enjoy!
