Bestie and I did a staycation at the hotel and we dined here for breakfast and dinner because we did not want to leave the property. The menu is very limited but what I had was good. I had the pleasure of dining here for breakfast and lunch. This restaurant is located inside of the IHG hotel in Atlanta, however, you can enter the restaurant from the street. The ambiance is nice and elegant. The decor is very esteemed. The class definitely matches that of the hotel itself. Welcomed and greeted by a host, we were able to get seated without a reservation, although, I do recommend making one. I opted for the bacon, egg and cheese sandwich and while that may sounds basic, it most definitely was not. It was one of the best breakfast sandwiches I have had. For lunch, I had the Americano Burger which consists of a Wagyu patty. Again, delicious! I would've loved to give this restaurant 5 stars. What prevented that was an issue with gnats. There are flowers that are on the table. I'm not sure if that was the issue, but it made it hard for me to fully enjoy my experience as I had to keep shooing them away from my food. I ordered room service from the Americano while staying at the Intercontinental Buckhead. What I liked? The Caesar salad was amazing. The breadcrumbs instead of traditional croutons were a nice touch, the lettuce was fresh, and the dressing was light and flavorful. What could be improved? The flavor of the meatballs was great, you can't go wrong with basil, pomodoro, and stracciatella cheese, but I prefer my meatballs to be a bit more tender. These were very dense which suggests they were overworked during mixing or had too much egg/breadcrumb. This little, classy restaurant was at the bottom of our hotel during a recent business trip to Atlanta. A bunch of us enjoyed a dinner there and it was a cozy and relaxed atmosphere. I got the half chicken with gnocchi Romana and it was perfect. The half chicken was so savory and perfectly cooked. This may be the best test of a restaurant: the half chicken. It was so tender. My husband and I had an incredibly thoughtful birthday celebration at The Americano. Everyone went above and beyond to make our dinner special. Upon being seated, our table was tastefully decorated with rose petals & a warmly greeted by our waiter. He gifted us a champagne toast & a delicious pair of rice balls to celebrate the occasion. We decide to split a couple items for dinner, starting with the Ceaser salad & meatballs. The Ceaser salad was special, there was a spicy crunch that made each bite flavorful. We shared the half chicken & charred broccolini as our main. The half chicken stole the show- it was perfectly prepared. My husband was tempted to ask for the recipe of the sauce. Just got home from spending our Christmas dinner at the Americano inside the InterContinental hotel in Buckhead. We self parked and walked through the hotel, seeing all of the decorations around and made our way to the restaurant. It wasn't super busy when we arrived, but got busier as we ate. The fixed menu was spectacular and had an amazing array of tastes. To open, my dad got the wine flight, my mother got the affogato, and I had the cherry blossom martini....and then I had a second lol! Opening course was the Stromboli. We packed this up as our appetizers came out right away. The truffle ceasar salad with all romaine hearts (the way I love my salad!), fried ricotta balls, the meatballs and fregola, and scallop crudo were all super tasty. The scallop freaked my parents out a little but they ended up liking that the best! Mains: branzino, duck breast, and ribeye. Sides: polenta, creamed spinach, Parmesan popovers, and roasted heirloom carrots. Dessert: torrine, macarons, buche de Noel, and pear tart with a touch of gold leaf on it for tonight's holiday touch. We aren't big eaters so it was a lot to take home. Their 4 sauces were tasty but it would've been a nightmare to pack them up so that's the only thing we didn't take home- and the creamed spinach was gone too. Our server Gonzalo was tremendous. The runners were also fantastic. Never needed to ask for water refills, or anything else. It was really a great way to spend your Christmas dinner without making a mess at home. I can't wait to go back and try some pasta. The truffle fettuccine special made in a wheel of Parmesan looked crazy good but we would've eaten nothing if we got pasta on top of the meal. Nice spot for a date night for locals. The only same-day reservation for a Saturday for dinner was 6:15 which was odd since the restaurant was mostly empty while we were there. Maybe they leave tables open for walk-in hotel patrons? In any event service was excellent with warm hospitality amongst all the staff from the host to the person who filled our water glasses. It took a little while for our drinks to come out (received after we finished the appetizer) which is the only critique. My bf had the Nero manhattan and I had the pomodora (can't remember if that was the exact name) which I couldn't resister because it had tomato in it! It was very refreshing. The tuna crudo appetizer was good, using fresh fish, although the greens it was served with was slightly too acidic for my taste. I loved the gnocchi and the sauce it was served in, plus the burrata atop the pillowy goodness. I wasn't able to eat the entire thing so they packed me a small box and I devoured it when I got home. My bf had the farro risotto, a good sized portion. The beef was perfectly tender and the addition of horseradish gave it an interesting taste. The farro was also tender but not mushy. For dessert we had the chocolate mousse and my bf had amaro latte. The mousse was a little loose for my liking but very light and airy, and a huge portion. The coffee drink was surprisingly delicious. Overall this was a technically well executed meal and experience. I only wish it wasn't part of a hotel because parking is such a pain. They do validate valet parking but the Intercontinental is always super backed up and the valet area is so small. We didn't see anywhere we could self- or street park without being a hotel guest or taxi. If you're staying at the hotel, eating at this restaurant is a no-brainer. It's cool when the restaurants of celebrity chefs actually live up to the hype. read more

From Dinner to Brunch (or is it from Brunch to Dinner?), it's safe to say The Americano is worth a visit any time of day! Our first experience was for dinner. The chef sent a small bite for our wait, and when we had the table side pasta-- it was a phenomenal experience. On another occasion, we joined for a jazz brunch with the chef. My fiancé had the steak and eggs while I ordered the French toast. For drinks, he ordered the table side bloody Mary cart and I was a little jealous of how cool it was! They bring carafes -one regular and one spicy- and all the toppings, then fix it to your preference. After trying it, I can say it is also very delicious. My espresso martini was lovely and went great with the French toast! The french toast was made perfectly-- so light and fluffy yet so flavorful. Such a fabulous restaurant! read more

Honest constructive feedback for an upscale hotel restaurant..I was staying at an another nearby local hotel and decided to try the Americano..I went into this restaurant on Nov 24th at approximately 842 pm and sat at the nearly empty bar with the knowledge that their kitchen didn't close till 10pm, so I felt like I was being respectful of their time as I don't like to be that kind of patron placing a big order 10 minutes before the kitchen closes. When I sat at the bar, I did not feel very welcomed by the male bar tender who seemed annoyed I was there..maybe it was befause I was dressed business causal and wearing a hoodie and not a hotel guest which he seemed to scoff at when I informed him I would be paying by card for my meal and not charging to my room. I rarely saw him the rest of the night and he never came back to check on me. That being said the old fashioned was skillfully crafted so I do give him credit for the cocktail. Next I order my meal which was the steak and fries priced at $70 for a 14 oz New York strip and Parmesan fries. I don't mind paying a premium in a hotel for a good steak, and despite a good presentation the steak was extremely fatty and chewy and not edible. I totally get it may have just been a bad cut, so I let the other female bartender know since the the other guys left, the manager on duty did follow up with me to offer to exchange it for something else and I opted to the pork chop which was amazing. Though I will say the manager never checked in with me afterward to ask how my experience was or how my food was or anything. The only truly positive experience of the night was from Holly the only bar tender that seemed to care about my experience here and also crafted a memorable smoked ol fashioned for my final cockatail. Overall, I spent close to $130 for an entree and 3 cocktails, which is on par for an upscale restaurant like this, and I get it, food mistakes happen, but felt Americano could have provided a better experience to a outside guest who had no problem paying a premium for good food and services, and I felt both were lacking tonight. read more

I was soooooooooooooooo excited to try Scott Conant's, The Americano. However, it left a little to be desired. The menu was small I thought, but I don't need a lot of selections, it makes it too hard to decide lol. It's pricey and portions are of course, small but cute. We settled on: Bread for the table: which came with butter that looked like a round mold of spicy brown mustard. It didn't taste like mustard thankfully but had a smoked flavor and was very light and airy. Shrimp cocktail app: 4 jumbo shrimp cooked well and good flavor Scallops entree with corn, zucchini, and tomatoes: the veggies were good but the scallops were sooooooooooo salty they were inedible. Had to send them back. Side of wild mushrooms with jus: pretty good Blueberry cheesecake: I'm not a big dessert fan, but this was delicious. Not too sweet or heavy or rich like cheesecake can be, which I loved Raspberry gelato: was ok After the scallop debacle, our server Kat had the manager come over who offered to get us different entrees, but the wait for everything had already taken so long and we were too tired to wait for replacement entrees, so we decided to just get dessert which wouldn't take nearly as long, and it didn't. Kat did provide good service overall, it was just such an inexplicable long wait for seafood in a restaurant that had only 4 other tables besides ours filled. They did remove the two scallop entrees from our bill and Kat brought out a cute lil plate with bon bons which we also were not charged for. Overall, I would say they did make it right. Straight to the point. This is a nice classy restaurant for sure. Service was nice. As far as the food goes.. Bread service was ok we ordered both. The scallops, tuna crudo, tasted great. The shrimp needed to cook a bit more in there spice. Risotto was excellent the beef was tender and the sauce elevated the dish. Tagliatelle was nice could have used a little more butter to give it a richer finish. Here is where it went south.. fast. We ordered two Groupers. The groupers were both dry, and the brocoli rabe was awful. We also ordered two of the strips one medium rare and one medium. The medium rare was cooked nicely not perfect and the medium was overcooked. With that being said, both steaks were dry regardless. The last dish was the roasted half chicken. This chicken was cooked perfect but then just plated with its pairing that didn't blend at all together. The dessert Sunday board was really nice.. on the other hand the salted caramel was just a big mix of vanilla cream mixed with caramel to a pudding consistency with a nice caramel popcorn crunch. Basically to much caramel for my taste buds, it tasted much better after mixing some plain vanilla ice cream from the sunday board to balance it. This was my first time at this location , we were running late Valentines weekend and they still were nice enough to accommodate us. We started with bread which was cool, my friend and I decided on the valentines for two. This meal came with the steak and two sides, we decided on the cream spinach and mashed potatoes. They also gave a class of free champagne for the night. Overall experience was a 8/10, server could've been more attentive. The ambiance was beautiful, definitely would go back to sit outside. Prime T-Bone Steak w. Alaskan Crab - 7/10 the steak was suppose to be medium rare but came out more medium well, but over all taste was great. We were staying at the hotel where this restaurant was located and took advantage of the fact that this wonderful restaurant is only a few step away. First, the attached bar is beautiful and the drinks were prepared with care and exactly to our liking. The conversation was lively and had a chance to really enjoy the hospitality that this establishment offers. We were ready for dinner, so moved into the comfortable dining room. We had eaten here before and were familiar with the menu, but this night we were informed that the menu was changing the next day. Had to order out favorites but now look forward to trying out the new menu with a future visit. First time coming to The Americano. The interior is aesthetically beautiful. The cocktails were very tasty. We ordered the ribeye 30oz, puree potatoes, macaroni, and asparagus. The food was excellent. The macaroni was cooked to perfection. On the other hand, I don't think I will be returning based on the service. When we arrived, the hostess immediately addressed us with a dismissive attitude claiming that our reservation had been cancelled because she was (mistakenly) confident that we were over 15 minutes late. She later acknowledged that she was mistaken, but nonetheless a FRONT DESK server should not address customers that way - it could have been handled better. Then later, our server said jokingly to my fiancé that he looks old. I understand he said it jokingly, but I found the comment to be unnecessary. The Americano is located in the Intercontinental Hotel, and they offer valet or self parking that they said can be validated (note: they took $10 off self parking, still had to pay $5). It just so happened that I was in town the same night as Scott Conant. I love him, therefore I needed to dine at his restaurant and hope to meet him. The Americano is an elevated hotel restaurant. The bar was extremely busy, but the dining room only had about 10 guests. We were there for an earlier than usual dinner (the sun was just starting to set). I asked the staff at the host stand if Scott was around as a joke. They said yes! I could really see him in person? Very cool. Our server was just as nice and friendly as the hosts were. She said, "I heard you want to meet Scott?" Is this foreal? Yeah, it was...she said she would send him to our table. Fan girl activated. I ordered the meatball with the pasta al pomodoro. My date ordered the roasted half chicken. Scott came out. He is a beautiful man. He was wearing a dress shirt, jeans, an apron, and Jordans. And he was working the room. I actually thought he knew some of the diners, for how long he spent at each table. When he got to our table, we chatted and laughed, he asked what we ordered, we took photos. He is very gregarious. If you're still reading this "blog post" about my love for Scott Conant, I am impressed. ON TO THE FOOD! The roasted chicken was good. I wish I'd ordered that instead of the pomodoro. EHHHH! I wanted to love this restaurant. It had been on my list of places to try for a while. And I don't know I guess I expected more... While the interior is beautifully decorated. The place is elegant. Romantic. Intricate. But the menu is very limited. Which is actually the biggest reason I probably won't return. We wanted something lite. So, we ordered mainly appetizers. We got Caesar salads, Tuna tartar and the polenta "cremosa". The Caesar salad is fire. Honestly, I love their take on a classic. Its literally the bougiest salad beside the Caesar at American Cut. The tartare was not for me. But that polenta was BOMB! OMG! I didn't know what to expect but it was delicious. Savory and full of goodness. The Fritto Misto this was a favorite, we could have gotten two order of this I wouldn't have been upset. I had the drunken wifey (their spin on a margarita) and I don't know I guess I thought I would drink it into existence because that is exactly what I was by the end of the night. The easiest parking is the valet at the Intercontinental, get your ticket stamped and it will cost you a whopping $7. And the valet is quick and efficient. read more

Was staying at the Intercontinental Buckhead and the daily resort fee included a $15 credit for The Americano so I had breakfast here one morning and dinner one night. Breakfast Room service had a 25% service charge plus a $5 delivery fee for anything you ordered which seemed hefty considering it appeared they also charged more for the menu items than dining in. I may be wrong on last point as I didn't have both menus to compare but my recollection was that the prices were less for in person dining. I thought it might be nice to dine in the restaurant anyway so I could refill water or coffee and not have plates in my room to take care of after. I ordered the breakfast plate which was 2 eggs your way, a meat option (bacon or sausage) and a piece of toast or fruit bowl. I opted for the fruit bowl. This didn't come with a beverage and a regular coffee was $4 and the breakfast plate was $18. If I recall the room service option of the same was $26 (included the coffee) prior to the delivery fee and service charge. The eggs and sausage were fine, nothing remarkable. The fruit bowl was more than I expected and definitely a better value than a piece of toast. The service was a bit lacking. On a positive note they left the water and coffee jugs on the table so I could refill myself. When the bill came, it included an 18% service charge which felt odd to me (it was just me and usually a forced tip is for larger parties) and had me googling whether a service charge was the same as gratuity or not since a separate tip line also existed. I ended up tipping a little more even though I was pretty sure it was one and the same despite the service not really warranting extra because leaving nothing didn't seem right if I was wrong. Dinner Dinner prices were that of a pricey steakhouse. Like $18 for a side salad. I ordered a pasta dish: tagliatelle bolognese. It was $36 before tax. The pasta was good and there was plenty of bolognese. I came hungry, ate it all and was overstuffed when I left so the portion was much more than it seemed at first glance. Oddly enough, there was no service charge listed when I got the bill so not sure how they decide when they will or won't include it on the bill. All in all, it was convenient since I was staying at the hotel and it was too cold to venture much farther. However, I don't think I would make an effort to eat there otherwise. We had a great time here! It was quiet and largely empty. Beautiful interior and located inside the Intercontinental Hotel. Nice bar area. The drunken wifey cocktail was amazing. As for food, we liked the stone crab claws and the pasta. Salads were good too as was the salted caramel dessert (highly recommend that one). Not a bad spot if you're in the area and need a table in a pinch! read more

Why not a fancy night out in Atlanta?! I thoroughly loved this hotel restaurant combination the restaurant was beautifully decorated. It was gorgeous. However, I did have a problem with the service. It was very slow. Our server itself was fine. I just don't feel like for the quality of the dining experience the servers are prepared for that Quality of service anyways moving onto the food we had a chef tasting of cheese with a fake jam on toast. It was OK nothing to be surprised about we did try the tuna tartare, which was amazing beautifully cooked. The in-house fresh bread was very good. The broccolini was delicious, then we moved onto the steak. The steak was off by temperature if you ordered medium you got medium well if you ordered medium well you got well done. We advise the manager on staff that the chef was over cooking a steak and just to let them know. But other than that I would love to revisit again I think this restaurant has so much potential and it is delicious and I completely forgot about the mac & cheese. The mac & cheese was Divine.
