We had lunch there today which was awesome. It is not a fancy place but the food is delicious and the workers are so nice. I had a chicken fajita with fried onions with a side of lettuce, tomatoes and coleslaw! My husband enjoyed the chicken tacos and the New England clam chowder. Wow this hole in the wall spot can be over looked because it blends in with the houses on the block but don't just drive by! Stop and grab some food, the fish is so fresh it doesn't smell at all, the tacos were so moist and tasty. The fish and chips were remarkably on point! The beer batter was thick and crispy the large fillets of fish were fried delicately enough for the fish to still be moist and flakey. The fries are thick cut but still crispy. You know they leave their potatoes in ice water to make them less starchy and mushy. The food here was amazing, I'm glad we found this place. We chose this place because of Yelp reviews, and we're glad we did! Yes, it's a small place. Yes, it's plain and no frills. However, I love the anchor decorations and inspirational messages around the place. The day they are a seafood Mexican blend, which seems accurate. We each ordered lobster bisque, which was served piping hot. I didn't like the bisque because it was chicken stock-based, and that's all I could taste. Definitely not like a New England lobster bisque. My husband had the seafood boil and loved it. He said the shrimp were the best, so soft and fresh. Be prepared to be a dripping mess when you're finished gobbling this dish. I ordered a single grilled fish taco and a single grilled shrimp taco, and that is not an option on the menu. They made it an option for me. This demonstrates how hospitable they are. Because I didn't eat my bisque, I was still hungry and ordered a lobster quesadilla. Ooh this was ooey-gooey yumminess! It came with French fries and a jalapeño crema (tiny kick and excellent with the quesadilla). There is a printed menu and handwritten specials. There are so many options for such a small place. I've been wanting a lobster roll and boyfriend found this place online based on reviews so off we went. Very small place, you'd probably miss it if you weren't look for it. Like others have said, it's a hole in the wall, which sometimes tend to be the best places. We ordered lobster rolls, one hot and one cold. They were stuffed with chunks of lobster. Came with fries and cole slaw. We also had a crab cake appetizer which was huge and enough for both of us. We got dessert to go because I can't pass up tres leches cake. Hey hey Adventurers! I finally got to try this place out because they offered Hawaiian influenced foods which after my recent vacation I was missing it a bit. While I originally was going to order a poke bowl I ended up ordering the two piece fish and chips, as well as a garden salad. The fish was perfect amount but could have been fried more (my preferences) but I forgot to tell them. The fries a thick steak style and woah, so good with their tarter sauce. The salad was fresh and the dressing was a vinaigrette--pretty good. My friend had the spicy shrimp tacos and the fish tacos; both equally good. I think he preferred the spicy shrimp tacos because of how tasty they were. Definitely going back during the summer. read more

Very small place... This used to be Crown Fried Chicken. If you blink you'll definitely miss this place. Located in a residential neighborhood and passed it numerous times heading to the GSP. Stopped in for a quick lunch order. That being (what else) fish and chips for her. I asked for a recommendation and that was the #1 combo. This had one cod fish,2 shrimp and 2 scallops. Both orders came with those steak fries and a small container of slaw. They have a few soups on there daily menu. If that corn shrimp chowder is available do try it. I got a small sample as they were preparing my lunch. It's very good. Almost looks like NE clam chowder. Oh and don't forget the malt vinegar for your fried fish. For what it's worth... The absolute best. My husband and I have been ordering from Anchor religiously, around once a month for over 2 years. We have never had a bad meal here. We feel soo lucky that this restaurant is less than a mile from our house. The BEST fish & chips that I have ever eaten. The breading on the fish is perfection, and the fish is always fresh and flaky. Also, we never get their French fries, we substitute for their onion rings. These onion rings are also the best we've ever had, perfectly battered. Both the fish and onion rings are amazingly crispy, even with take out, and all the way through to the end of the meal. My husband loves their birria tacos, best we've ever tasted. Wonderful, huge portions, which makes the prices worth it! The clam strips were pretty respectable! Coleslaw needed a tad more flavor and tartar sauce was tasty. I couldn't make out the hush puppies. I tasted some corn meal but it was very doughy had a sweet and salty blend but expertly fried! This two person crew does make really good food! Expect simple tables and low ambiance, nothing fancy! Undecided for lunch, my sister suggested trying The Anchor Fish & Chips. My sister chose Combo#1 consisting of a piece of cod, two shrimps, two scallops, and chips. All three fresh proteins were battered and fried perfectly to an audible crisp. The cod was flaky, the shrimp meaty, and the scallop had a delicate sweetness. Chips were properly thick cut steak-fry style chips and fried to a golden crisp. What is this?.......They give you a proper malt vinegar and tartar sauce too!! My entrée was the blackened salmon which was just okay, as it lacked the "blackened" namesake seared seasoned crust. The salmon was fresh and well portioned, and the accompanying rice and beans were good. To share we tried the seared fish tacos, and they were excellent! The seared fish (not sure which species though) again was very fresh and seasoned well. The accompanying slaw and provided sauce (not tartar sauce but some sort of aioli) added welcomed dimensions of crunch and creaminess. Lastly, the tacos were served correctly with two corn tortillas. The woman was a complete sweetheart I couldn't choose between the spicy shrimp or the fish tacos so I just settled on the shrimp but she brought out a fish taco for me as well, She was so extremely sweet I have never had service like this ever. The food is completely amazing and made fresh as well as the house made hot sauce !!!! Soooo goood the fried Oreos were even amazing! Definitely the best lobster roll I've ever had. Vicente, one of the cooks, takes pride in his cooking. I walked in pointing to a dish posted here by a Yelper and he told me about the dish. He gave me some samples of the chowders to try. He showed me the seafood salad he just made. He even offered to make a custom dish for me. I was hungry and willing to pack left overs to go, so I ordered a lot! I ordered a medium shrimp nachos, avocado w/ shrimp chowder in a cup, 1 birra beef & cheese taco and an order of cod fish & chips. For drink, I got a Jarritos soda of tamarind flavor. We decided to give this place a try since we were in the neighborhood. The restaurant is small. There are three tables that are placed against the leftmost wall, which has mirrors that run across it. Next to the tables is the ordering counter and display case, which holds drinks, desserts, and other treats. The kitchen is also behind the ordering counter. Daughter ordered the beef birria and she said that it was surprisingly good. The birria was delicious and it was bigger than the others that she's had in the past and she loved that. She said that she will definitely order this again. Hubs had the mussels marinara. He said the order was ok and that it hit the spot. This gave him an idea what to cook at home. Lastly, I had the lobster roll and I got it warm. We learned that we prefer it hot over cold. So, we prefer Connecticut style over New England. It's a good deal for $25 because it comes with fries. Hubs asked for fries well done and it was great. We also had the watermelon drink. It was a little disappointing, because it lacked the sweetness. They didn't put any sugar in it, so the watermelon was not sweet and not in season. For dessert, we got the tres leches cake to go and it was delicious! We didn't realize the place was Mexican seafood fusion because the business was titled fish and chips, so we were pleasantly surprised. Overall, the service was pretty friendly and quick. My husband raves about this place so I came here today for lunch. Boy was he right! I had the cod sandwich (fried). It was a large piece of fried battered cod with slaw on warm soft roll. It was a delicious and satisfying meal! The steak fries were plentiful, fresh and crisp. For $1 more, my husband got the fish and chips which came with two large pieces of cod plus fries and slaw. I've even tried the hush puppies but they are unfortunately without taste, the cole slaw is slightly above average. This place just opened, 11/16/2021. I've been a few times and really enjoyed it. The blackend cod sandwich is my favorite. I also got the Friend combo #1 which includes 1 piece of cod, 2 scallops, and 2 large shrimp. All battered.. To me the batter too thick, and most of the taste I got was of the batter. Would have liked if they served a piece of lemon with the seafood also.. The twice cooked wings were also very good. A relative got the shrimp po-boy and she really enjoyed it.
