We realized very quickly that she…read morewas experiencing some kind of digestive issue as her gas and BMs were stinking our entire house up and the poor thing hadn't shown us a solid stool in the 2 weeks we'd had her. We brought her to Dr Poling at Avon Animal Hospital. Dr Poling had us bring a stool sample and spent a lot of time with us discussing her issues and what the problem may be. She prescribed an antibiotic we got the baby started on. The following day the stool sample results came back negative but we were advised to continue the antibiotic. This didn't help our girl, so we brought her back in to Dr P. We brought another stool sample because sometimes things are missed on the first (due to egg shedding or something gross sounding - the tech explained). Dr P discussed our options with us, described the different types of foods for kitties with sensitive tummies, and gave us a hypoallergenic food we both decided we were comfortable with. Upon finishing this bag, nothing had changed so we returned to Dr P. Again, she spent a TON of time with us and showed great care and concern for our girl. She ordered a digestive panel but also provided us with a script for a different antibiotic just in the off chance our little one had something undetectable going on. This was right around Christmas, and it was clear that Dr P did NOT want us to have to spend a bunch of money figuring this smelly little puzzle out. We finally saw improvement to our kitty's little system and didn't end up needing the pricey panel! Unfortunately, we saw this was just as I got the flu for a couple days and I stopped her treatment while in bed, hoping she was all set. Of course, as it goes with antibiotics, her stinkiness returned somewhat quickly. I called and had some questions about the prescription (how long does she have to be on it, do I need to bring her in to get more) and the wonderful tech called back within an hour with all the answers for me and to let me know that an additional script for the girl's antibiotics are there for pickup. I've called this office at least 5 times since adopting this baby 2 months ago. EVERY time the techs have been kind, knowledgeable, and provided answers from the Dr that day. Dr Poling is compassionate and kind and made me feel involved and respected in the care I choose for this kitten. So glad to have found a vet we can trust!

Horrible place! I took my Guinea Pig there about three weeks ago for an eye infection. The doctor…read morenoticed a small scab on one of my GP's feet - which turned out to be 'Bumblefoot'. Right away, he suggested euthanasia! Then, he only prescribed an oral antibiotic and pain killer. When I questioned him if my GP should also get some kind of external treatment for his foot wound, he said 'No, I want it to dry up'. Then, he forgot to address the eye infection as he was walking out! Since he didn't recommend external treatment for his Bumblefoot, the disease progressed and all four feet worsened. He never even mentioned the other three feet being affected! And Bumblefoot ALWAYS needs daily foot soaks using an antiseptic! Now my one year old GP is nearing his end of life because of this negligent veterinarian! He will need to be put down once he stops eating on his own. And he's in a lot of pain due to this. Go elsewhere if you care about your pets!

I told him they should have told us that at the time of making the appointment and that all they did was take $185 from us and did absolutely nothing for our dog, My bf had full control of our dog the whole time. If this vet is too old to handle a dog barking in the lobby and just wants to rip people off for $185 and runs his practice making your animals health significantly worse than before you took him there, it is TIME FOR THIS VET TO RETIRE!!! When I explained that the issue stemmed from a lack of clear communication about the additional charges, I was repeatedly told it was a misunderstanding on my part. Unfortunately, the tone felt condescending rather than supportive, which led to more frustration. Clear and upfront communication is essential, especially when it comes to pricing. Due to this experience, we will not be boarding our dogs here again.

When I got my pet back the urn they put him in looked like a miniature garbage can. Cheap, ugly dark plastic! The container wasn't even cleaned up on the outside. It was such a disgrace that they would charge a person for that shoddy work! I will NEVER go back here any of my pet services! Until we went on a highly anticipated 2 week cruise / land vacation to Hawaii to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary during the winter of February 2025.. We had a PROFESSIONAL SNOW PLOW SERVICE scheduled to clear our driveway.. Marlene, the business owner called us while we were in port at one of the islands preparing to leave for dinner.. and informed us that our driveway was not clear enough & if the snow wasn't appropriately cleared, she would not have her workers stop by, & our dogs wouldn't be fed!!! I was frantically trying to call our professional snow plowing service in Ohio before our ship left port & we would lose cell service. My niece was staying at our house at night during our trip, & she took pics of our driveway, & the snow was adequately cleared. When we arrived home from our trip, the FRONT DOOR was NOT LOCKED, & there was 40 pieces of UNCOLLECTED MAIL IN OUR MAILBOX. There was also dog vomit on the pillows on our living room couch.. When I let Marlene know of the situation we came home to..she was very rude & unprofessional & accused my 30 year old niece of leaving the door unlocked, & not cleaning up the dog mess in the living room! Then she told me I was exaggerating about the mail. One of Marlene's duties was to collect the mail daily.. Our mail was nearly falling out of the mailbox into the ditch! As far as my niece leaving the dog vomit & the front door unlocked, (which she would never do), our niece left our house at 7:00 am in the morning, & Marlene's "helpers" were the last people at our home before we arrived home later that afternoon after a 20 hour flight home from Hawaii. Marlene caused what should have been a wonderful cruise & vacation to Hawaii to be stressful for my husband & I, as we were concerned our dogs would not be attended to properly.. She was rude & cold & uncaring towards me when I tried to converse with her about the condition our home was in when we returned from our trip.
