BEWARE! We were charged $450 by the appliance guy, Derrick. He came out ($125 service fee). At first, Derrick thought it was the waterline. He then said "no it is was an (expensive) pump part. We had to pay $300 for the part. Then, when they have the part and put it in, they told us there was a crack in the tub that they do not take care of. So we were stuck with $450 charge with a broken washing machine . They would not take the expensive pump back and refund our money. The only relief we were offered was half of the labor, which was $125 . BEWARE read more

Scam in my opinion. Dryer works but no heat is the problem. That's almost always the heating element. Their own tech agreed. The parts on Amazon are $25-30. All. Day. Long. So you can pay them $491 to repair or write a check to the owner Derrick Vassar for $136 for his tech's 5min. house call. You pay some guy, not even a company. BTW, the tech D.J. is nice guy. No problem with him. I can buy a new open box LG for their repair quote. This seems like a house call scam to me. (They will claim THEIR parts are 'special' and more expensive.) Many 100's of good reviews on the $25 Amazon parts... Makes me doubt Yelp actually. Reviews are not chronological. No way this is top 10. Donate $136 to your favorite charity and look elsewhere. Don't call them they play games! I called them because they had good reviews but I regret it. I figured the drain pump on my washer needed to be replaced. I asked if it was a drain pump (which it ended up being) and provided them model numbers and they still wouldn't give me an exact price. I mentioned I had a dryer that needed repair as well and they said they gave a multiple unit discount. When the technician got there he called to get a price and the price was ridiculous. I spoke on the phone with Derrick Vassar about the price and he said I was getting $125 off. I asked how much just the dryer was and when he told me I realized the washer was more than the range they gave me over the phone even with the quote discount. He said he knock another $81 off and I'd see the discount on the bill. I asked him to send me a separate invoice for just the dryer and then both combined three times and he still only sent a combine quote. When I looked at it had only $81 off, so when they told me they were giving me $125 off for both units they were 100% lying. I got another company to do it for about little over half what they quoted me. Not to mention the other company showed up exactly when they said vs I told them on the phone I had to leave by a certain time. They assured me I was the first stop. When they were late after a while I reached out and they said they were at another stop. Wish I could give zero stars. They like to respond with lies. I asked for two quotes, what it would be for both with the discount they said they were giving me and one for just the dryer. It was so high I was considering doing just the one, which I said on the phone. Had you of sent the quote for just the dryer I probably would have done it. You were giving no discount when you said you were. I paid the invoice, I have the credit card receipt to prove it. read more

They found a difficult to find water leak in the clothes washer and after checking all of the washer, replaced the drain pump which was failing intermittently. Both were friendly and very knowledgeable about the appliance issues and repairs. They also made some installation adjustments for a new dishwasher. Derrick was a godsend. Our ice-maker in our fridge decided to catch on fire the week of Thanksgiving. We had to scramble to find places for our food to go so Thanksgiving wasn't a bust. Derrick came diagnosed the problem and was able to let us plug the fridge back in without worry of the ice-maker continuing its fiery carnage. He quickly diagnosed the problem and had the replacement parts on order. He was prompt and courteous when he came to install the replacement part. He kept us informed through the process and always wanted to know if he could answer any questions we had. I contacted this company because the ice maker on my refrigerator was not working. They replaced my ice maker, but by the next day it was not producing ice. I contacted them again and the repair person came back and told me the problem could be my water filter, so I replaced that and still the next day, no ice. I contacted them again and the day they were supposed to return I was notified a few hours in advance that they could not come because of a work training that had been forgotten about. Fine, so I lined up another visit. This time they did not show up in the agreed upon time window and did not contact me at all to explain. At this point I was frustrated and despite spending $410 for seemingly nothing, I decided to contact another company. The other company sent someone out who opened my freezer and immediately identified a known common issue with this model of refrigerator that could only be fixed by changing the door, which would likely be more expensive than replacing the whole refrigerator, which is what we ended up doing. Of course we understandably also had to pay for that visit. Over $500 down the drain to learn this was not likely a fixable problem. If I'd called the other company to begin with it would have saved us quite a bit. Basically, this company is fine if all you need is a parts change, but I'm still not sure I would recommend it based on having been essentially ghosted for the last visit. read more

I had a horrible experience with The Appliance Guy tech! He showed up, and without performing any diagnostic said the issue was the fan, which he did not have and would order, he charged me $125 just for showing up then when he returned a week later to install the fan, he didn't know how to put the fan into the fridge properly. He charged me an additional $480.94. He did not fix the issue with my refrigerator. I called him to come back, and he showed up but REFUSED to take any step to diagnose why the refrigerator was still not cooling properly. Very unprofessional behavior when he returned, He said there was nothing wrong with the fridge (even though the interior temperature was reading 50 degrees and not the correct temperature range for a refrigerator). Tech said "feels cool in the fridge to me."! I would NEVER recommend this company not even to my worst enemy!! Avoid this company!! read more
