This shop is such a delight. The selection, terrarium setups, inspiration- is all in full bloom at this store. I walked in here with no planned intention but ended up buying an entire DOOA glass and light setup. it's definitely not cheap (~$300 for the set I bought. just glass, metal arm, light, 2 rocks) but what made it worth it is the fact that Adam from this shop was SO kind and beyond helpful. he gave suggestions and advice on what I would need to get my setup working properly, down to the type of substrate for certain plants. when I was picking out a few rocks for my glass, Adam had such an aesthetic eye for which one would look nice in the environment. I'm typically so picky about achieving a certain look for tank builds, but the two rocks Adam pointed out I immediately loved and got (they even have a sand dojo area for you to play around with layout). He sees the vision and helps you execute. This type of expertise and willingness to help is absolutely what lead me to buy an entire setup on a whim! But truly, cares for your build like he would his own and he doesn't try to *sell* you anything, rather he wants the plant to thrive in the environment created, and he's happy to give advice and his time to bring you to success. I never felt pushed in any manner and have so much respect for how he conducts his work. Huge thank you to Adam! Would recommend this shop if you run into him especially. read more

I was driving to Issaquah. I suddenly remembered Gilman village and stopped by after a long time. I haven't been here for a few years and found some new shops. Among them, I was very interested in Aqarscape studio. At first I thought it was a plant shop and went inside. However, a mysterious world was created with plants in the water. I was fascinated by the mysterious water landscape. They have classes. An aquascape allows you to create your own landscape within your aquarium. If you are interested in this, I recommend that you stop by here and see what is displayed in person. read more

Super awesome shop! I ended up here thanks to a Yelp event for an air plant & holder at a fairly new aquascape store in the Village. I've been big into aquariums for most of my life and I've always like the idea of an aquascape, but it always just seems like too much maintenance for me. CD has several aquascapes going and it turns out the first tank I was looking at uses dwarf grass AKA crazy easy to maintain once you get the ecosystem up and running. That's definitely got my gears turning and it's sending me back to the drawing board to see if I can blend lazy with beauty without having a full on overgrown forest. I was also excited to see that there was a good selection of begonias! I don't know why, but begonias as a whole are my favourite. I was happy to see an escargot that's a different colour than the one I have so now I'll hopefully have two begonias...maybe blend them into one pot some time?? The owner is an absolute sweetheart and is clearly passionate about his store! Highly recommended and I'll definitely be back, hopefully when I'm plotting on setting up an aquascape!! read more

I want an aquarium now after visiting Aquascape. One of my favorite things as a kid was watching the fish and creatures in the aquariums my dad and grandpa diligently kept. Such work - but gosh, when done well, they are so much fun to watch! My roomie and I enjoyed looking at the various seascapes around the shop. This is the first shop we've seen plants and aquariums together in the same shop, and by all means, I am up to learn more! The perks from the Yelp event were great - black swag bag was a nice change from red Yelp merch. Also appreciated the free air plant and holder! Further, C.D. was extremely knowledgeable and professional and I appreciated his explanation for how to keep the air plant alive. Definitely not as easy as some make it out to be! Hopefully one day I'll get the courage to start an aquascape, but in the mean time, I'd recommend this place to any new and experienced plant lover! I walked around and saw not only air plants but some cool aquarium setups as well. The owner of the store was very accommodating to all of my questions, definitely very knowledgeable and passionate about his entire store. He added that he was very against overcharging customers like a lot of other stores do (which I definitely agree with), and the small aquascape I bought was excellent in value! He packaged up the glass aquarium in two layers of plastic seal, bubble-wrap, and then paper filler, which made sure that it didn't spill or tip at all even with a pretty bumpy ride back home. So far, about four hours after the purchase, the plants and livestock are doing great and the light setup is perfect. Overall cost was 82.58$ for an aquascape with livestock and light, which was fantastic to buy pre assembled and all in one place. While it's not a cheap buy, it's much more worth it in the long run. Set in the beautiful Gilman Village, Aquascape is a cute studio which transforms into a rainforest setting with plants all around you literally! (on the walls, hanging above your head) with music in the entire studio. The Owner, CD is a friendly owner who gives all the details, demo for any of the plants including the air plants or aqua plants. We bought a baby Bulbosa after seeing a larger Bulbosa plant which sits on his table under a table light and a glass enclosure as it will soon bloom! There are lots of different Pothos varieties & aquatic plants that you can keep for your aquarium. This was the first visit to Gilman village and absolutely loved the small, beautiful set of different types of shopping experience and restaurants in this village setup. read more

Aquascape Studio reminded me to Amazon Spheres. It's warm and humid but the ambience is great, sort of like rainforest . Plants everywhere and great ideas if you want to decorate your home with new ideas. It was a little bit tricky to find the studio because there's no big sign at the entrance (the owner said it's on its way). But for those of you who have never been here before it's located in GILMAN VILLAGE (retail center with several local independent shops) What can you buy here? Air plants, aquatic plants, fish tanks, the owner will guide you in whatever your needs are. I'd say it's a little bit pricey but keep in mind you're getting high quality service/products. My piece of advise is be careful while bringing small children bc there are breakable items :( read more

I have zero knowledge on air plants and did not quite sure what to expect when I came here, but I thought it would be a great learning opportunity. I got to meet the owner, CD, and his staff member, who were very friendly and helpful in educating me about what air plants are and how to care for them. They had great displays so I could picture how i want my plant to look in my home (ie on my desk, on my shelf, hanging in the window). After i picked my plant, they wrote down the name of it for me (Harrisii) so I could read more into it, and remember it for the next time. CD also walked me through what i should do with my plant weekly and daily to make sure i care for it. Along from air plants, you can also buy plantable herbs, fish tanks and things to care for your tanks, like cleaners and lights. I don't have the best green thumb, and I am not super into plants, but this was a positive experience for me and i enjoyed learning about a group of plants that I hopefully will not kill! What a cool shop! I learned about them from a Yelp experience where I got to put together an air plant and holster (which I am proud to say I have managed to keep alive!) After talking to the owner/operator I of course was very impressed and ended up getting a few other unique finds. I love discovering new plants that I didn't know could survive in the Pacific Northwest! This shop is the PERFECT place to get housewarming gifts for friends and family or just "treat yoself" gifts. The owner is very knowledgeable and just fun to hang out and chat with. I want to live in his store. They specialize in air plants and all the things you need to give your plant a great life as well as aquariums. I'm never buying my plants anywhere else! This spot just opened up in Gilman Village and I couldn't be more excited. The shop is so warm and inviting with the most amazing plant wall, orchids, aquariums and terrariums. The owner is super knowledgeable about the plant life and is able to offer plenty of advice on how to best keep your plant alive. I went home with a new mister, air plant, and pot. There are great items here that would make perfect gifts for anyone and there's even a station in the back for you to build your own perfect terrarium. Pretty new to aquascaping/taking care of a tank, but I knew I wanted moss balls when I walked in and some sort of clarifier for my tank - the water was getting dyed brown from the drift wood. Was going to buy the wrong thing but the worker recommended the right filter instead to get rid of the brown water! (Check out the before and after) I even got the moss balls I was in search for. This studio is located in Issaquah Gilman Village with variety of water plants and air plants. The shop onwer was informative to chat and he seems to know everything about plants. And there are many self-sustained ecosystems there. I think plants are great gift for family and friends, highly reccomend checking this place out. great fun! read more

Aquascape Studio and Supply is a beautiful store and we are so pumped they are located on the eastside! My husband and I actually visited AQSS a few weeks ago to scope it out and check out what the studio had to offer and they did not disappoint! CD was super friendly and knowledgeable, he answered our questions and we purchased a few plants for our tank back at home. We got Cryptocoryne "Pink Panther," Rotala Wallichi "Long Leaf," & Hygrophil pinnatifida first time around. We loved their selection and the studio itself has such a great aesthetic! When we returned for the yelp elite event and CD remembered us and provided a warm welcome! I got a cute Ceramic Holder for my air plant and showed me to the back of the store where all the air plants were kept. I ended up selecting a Juncea Tillandsia Plant and it looked beautiful in my new ceramic holder. CD provided care instructions and bagged up everything nicely for us. We also purchased cholo wood to put in our shrimp tank, the prices are super reasonable. We loveee how Aquascape Studio and Supply is also dog friendly! I have been meaning to write this review for awhile now BUT I have to give this place a nice star. Upon entering the staff was pretty busy with helping people but once they were free two of them came to check in and make sure everything was fine and to welcome us in, I went in for a yelp event and brought my fiancé with me and she was very impressed and interested in everything there specially the fish tanks lolol. As part of the yelp event I got a free air plant and a holder for it which I love and we also purchased another air plant and another plant holder as well as their fertilizing spray for them. Every question we had they answered nicely and I with extra information which we appreciated. Just walking in made me happy and the owner he is amazing and knows what he's doing and talking about and I just loved his vibe, his workers as well they didn't make it feel awkward or hard to ask questions. They have so many things in there and you wouldn't think so, but they definitely made a small space work with so many great things inside. I'm glad I got the chance to visit this shop because now we will be going in more often ... I am in need of new plants ! Came here to buy an new aquarium/aquascape setup for my betta. We walked in and was not greeted at all. I can't stand this cause I was ready to drop $500+ on a new setup which was my budget. The person working was filling tanks which I understand you have a job to do but at least greet your customers. All that is showing is that your customers are not important. Then we're looking around and I picked up a cute glass jar and turned it over and it was from Daiso?! It had the Daiso price tag on it still. And they slapped there $15 tag over it which it's original price is $3. I walked out after that. Didn't get a "thanks for coming in", or "can I help you with anything?". Nothing. Why do companies allow there employees to have horrible service? Don't they realize they need the customers? read more
