SO FAR SO GOOD (will update once stuff is delivered). A+ HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR MILITARY MOVES My husband and I had to move from California to Ohio due to military orders. We originally planned for a local company to move our stuff but 10 min before they were supposed to move our stuff, they completely cancelled on us and told us they'd only be able to come AFTER we were due to move out of our home. I quickly went online and submitted my info on Friday at 7pm trying to find a last minute mover that could come before Sunday. David gave me a call within 5 min of submitting my information and within 15 min, we we're ready to go. They were very consistent with their communication throughout the whole journey. They told me they'd be here between 8-10am and arrived at 8:45. The movers individually wrapped all of our furniture and were quick to load all of our stuff sitting in the garage. I really appreciated their transparency throughout the whole thing. I gave them an accurate inventory count and was given a price to move our stuff. While they were loading our stuff, we got a call to process our first half payment which DID NOT CHANGE FROM THE QUOTE! I kept reading about horror stories of other people being charged 2x-5x more with other companies in regards to their moves. And lastly they're very military friendly. The movers knew exactly where the base access points, the protocol to get in, the difference between HHG and pro-gear, and even got us the weight tickets we need. We have moved several times around the world and this time we decided to go with Armstrong relocation. Oh boy! We regret it! The day we signed the contract with them, we provided all the information about the documents required by the administration of the building we were moving to, that said VERY CLEARLY that Armstrong had to submit their insurance documents 72 labor hours prior to the date of moving, to be approved so the administrator could reserve one of the elevators plus hire more security officers. Despite we told them not to show up without approval, Armstrong decided to show up anyways and off course, the guards would not let them in. So they had to return to the warehouse and store our stuff until they got it together and submitted the documents! It took them 6 days to do it! What a surprise we had when we got an invoice for storage!! We had to go all the way to the top management to get a little discount (ridiculous if you ask me) of that charge. Also, they had given us an estimate at the signing of the contract, and told us that since we were going to get rid of a third of the furniture, they would adjust the charge according to the actual weight of the whole household, the day of the move. They didn't. They charged us for wayyyy more weight of the actual household. But not only that! Four of our original pieces of expensive art, disappeared!! Nobody responded for those!! Armstrong/United was contracted through my employer to move us internationally.They sent someone out prior to our move to evaluate everything so that he would be able to advise what would be needed on moving day. He told us not to pack anything and what we already had packed would need to be unpacked and repacked by the crew, so we shouldn't do anything. They scheduled two days for packing up our home. The first day, the movers arrived and out of 4 people, only one spoke a little English. Therefore, communication was an issue from the beginning. They began packing our stuff without asking what goes together or if boxes for some of our items (like kitchen gadgets, etc.) existed. After the first day of packing, most of the house was packed with the exception of the attic, furniture, and our daughter's room. We had a 3 bedroom, 2 bath townhouse, so not a huge house to pack. When the crew left on day one, they told us the crew would be coming the next day at 9am and would pack the remainder and load the truck. The 2nd day crew arrived at 8am instead of 9am and couldn't even wait for a few minutes for us to get dressed and ready. Evidently, they were in a rush to make the delivery to the port and said the crew the first day didn't finish everything they should have packed. Things just got worse throughout the day. They were rushing around and complained all day that we had too much stuff. Then, when it got to the end of the day, they started saying they didn't have the proper boxes to pack things properly. Evidently, the surveyor who came out first didn't do the right job either because the movers didn't come with enough boxes.In hindsight, I should have said something then or put a stop to allowing these movers to continue to touch our things. At the end of the day, they kept trying to avoid packing our daughter's (small) rocking horse, and ended up wrapping it in paper before putting it on the truck. Clothes, including my wedding dress and husband's suits and tux were thrown in a regular box because they didn't have a wardrobe box. They said they couldn't take our step stools because they didn't have boxes for them. Then they left, and I began to worry for the next two months about the condition of all of our belongings. Unfortunately, I was right to worry. When our boxes arrived in Switzerland, it was a mess, to put it lightly. It turns out the movers were in such a hurry, they didn't even properly number and inventory our boxes, so we had no way of knowing if everything even made it. After unpacking everything, not only were there entire boxes missing from our shipment (I don't know how many) but things were packed improperly and all of our precious belongings were not cared for in the least. Some items (maybe when we were in the room supervising) were meticulously and even overly wrapped with packing materials while other, fragile ceramics and electronics were literally thrown in boxes without any wrapping at all. So many things were broken and lost. Not because of regular things that happen during a move, but because of a complete lack of care and extreme negligence of this moving company. They purposely broke things to try to make them fit in boxes and a lot of what was ruined belonged to our daughter because her room was last. Artwork she had done and saved was crushed, one was even used as packing material to wrap something else. The worst was her bed. She had a metal bunk bed and when I surveyed her room after they disassembled it, the screws were left on the floor. I brought them to the crew leader and after my insisting that they had to be with the bed, he taped them to the outside of the box with the bed in it! Of course, they didn't make it here, and they don't have replacement screws in Europe since they use metric screws. It wasn't safe for her to sleep in her bed as a result. I really hope you don't use this company because you will be sorry just like I am! I understand things get lost or break during a move, but their complete negligence and lack of care caused so much damage. read more

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! We have all heard horror stories about moving companies right? Well, obviously as you can see by my rating, none of those things happened with this company, in fact it was the opposite, almost a fairy tale come true. Our story begins with discovering that Armstrong had only one complaint against it on the record. One! A moving company and only one complaint? Sounds like a fairy tale right? Our first interaction with Armstrong began when we were visited by Mary Ann for her to see what was getting moved in order to determine the estimate for how much this move was going to cost. Her expertise was soon very obvious and her visit was over in approximately half an hour. The best part, though, was the estimate paperwork she prepared. It was light years ahead of its competition in presentation, professionalism and thoroughness. Even though the cost was slightly higher than the other estimates, we went with our gut feeling that the value would be best with Armstrong. We were than contacted by Bonnie who became our Move Coordinator. As a result of her most excellent efforts, we now have the opinion that this position is key to making a move successful. We experienced several challenges on the real estate side and Bonnie rolled with every one of them. She either had the answer to the issue up front or professionally stated she did not know, but would find out and call us back - which she did - every time. Bonnie also followed up with us after the loading and after the unloading to see if there were any issues that required her attention. Wow! Calling and, in effect, asking "Did we do a good job?" If you choose to move with Armstrong Bonnie is the Move Coordinator we recommend. Which bring us to what Bonnie was calling to follow up about - the actual move, both loading and unloading. We were called the evening before each move to confirm both the loading and the unloading crew arrival times which was very much appreciated. Our loading crew was amazing! We stood there in awe watching them speedily, yet carefully, empty our home. Eddie, Ike & PJ redefined the home moving business for us, they were awesome! They should name their crew "Eddie and the Jets". But wait there's more! We have a dilemma, the unloading crew was every bit as excellent as the loading crew! Roy, Anthony and Corey carefully and quickly unloaded, unpacked and placed our belongings where we wanted them. Most importantly, they provided us with a form listing the numbers of the labels that the loading crew had placed on each and every one of our possessions. We already had the list from the loading that showed those numbers and this form allowed us to check off every possession as it was unloaded and brought into our new home. Each of the guys called out to us the numbers of the items they were unloading and even asked at times to make sure that we had heard them. Every item that had been loaded was delivered and nothing was broken! These 2 crews will have to compete in a Super Bowl for movers to determine who is the best, but they are both number one to us! So it's not a fairy tale that a move can be good, without damages or over charges. Just don't confuse price with cost and you will move happily ever after. read more

I would like to thank Marcia (coordinator) for putting up with me. I would say there were a few times during the process that I lost my cool but she never lost her's. Overall I was satisfied with the packing and move. Packers were great guys, driver and wife were awesome and my unloaders were great. Perhaps the loading could have been better but nothing that was unforgivable. My main issue was the one day delay on my delivery. They will say it was weather related, I would say it was the delay leaving South Florida filling the truck with another customer. Either way, ALL of my belongings arrived and NOTHING was broken. I would recommend this company to a friend with a slight caution that there may be a few bumps. I don't believe another company would have treated me any better. So A- to them! read more

I made a number of changes from the first estimate and he agreed to come back and re-estimate the move. We hired Armstrong to relocate us from FL to CA. To set context; we have moved across the country three times (MA to CA, CA to NJ, FL to CA) and three other long distance moves (NJ to CT, CT to MD, MD, to FL). This was by far the worst move we have ever had. Armstrong Relocation demonstrated dishonest business practices, negligence and carelessness, and overall rudeness. Although the sales agent and loader were professional and helpful our travesty began as soon as the van showed up. We selected Armstrong because they assured us they would not do a shuttle move (i.e., when you load furniture into one truck then transfer it to a holding center and another truck for the long distance hall). When the driver showed up he told us he was the shuttle driver and they were doing a shuttle move. We called Armstrong but at that point there is essentially no recourse. Further they indicated anyone handling our goods would be a screened and certified employee but were later told they subcontracted part of the delivery. We then proceeded to drive across the country and were told on Friday our possessions would arrive the following Monday. At 8am we called for a delivery time estimate and they informed us that they would not arrive for five more days! We consider it probably dishonest, at least unprofessional, to provide an estimate of one business day and then be off by five business days. Finally, when they arrived we had several thousands of dollars of damage to our possessions. The crew was constantly using foul language and was quite rude to us. The most dramatic example: the driver and unloader literally broke a poster off our four poster bed. In total they damaged about five pieces of wood furniture that they contracted a repair person to fix... I can only imagine that cost hundreds of dollars as well. We had about a dozen crushed, punctured, or otherwise damaged boxes. Two other boxes and our ladder were lost in the move. It took us about four months and dozens of phone calls, emails, and letters and the intervention of United corporate to resolve these issues. In no uncertain terms: under no circumstances would I ever select Armstrong for any services. read more

We are so extremely happy that we chose Armstrong Relocation for our move from Florida to Texas. As a matter of fact, Armstrong Relocation is the best moving company we have ever used (8 moves to 8 different states). From the very first call to Ashley, our move coordinator, we got the feeling that this company would bend over backwards to be the very best. Our estimator Mary Ann was fabulous and precise and her weight estimation was extremely close to what the actual weight turned out to be!! She was so personable and called periodically prior to the move to check on things. Another example of the personal touch Armstrong Relocation is so great at. Wally and his packing crew were excellent, kind and expert packers. Nothing was broken. Cesar and Ali and their loading crew were extremely strong and careful and treated our possessions as if they were their own. Cesar kept in touch with us via cell phone during the days he was driving our goods over 1300 miles and showed up right on time at our new home on the agreed date of delivery. Moreover, Cesar the driver is the best of the best. His years of experience at long haul moving were quite evident. We were also impressed that he has extremely high standards for who he will use as his helpers. Moving, especially to another state, is extremely stressful and after reading so many horror stories online of rogue movers and movers that do not care for the customer, we felt we needed to give 5 stars to a company that wants to perform over and above, 200%, for ALL of their customers. More importantly, Armstrong Relocation worked really hard at making our move as stress free as possible. We would use them again in a minute. read more

I had a fantastic experience with Armstrong relocation. Although the they were the most expensive bid I received, it was totally worth the extra money. I read so many horror stories of interstate movers and even worse reviews. My move could not have gone smoother. The delivery guys were so professional and polite , nothing broken or damaged and they delivered on the same truck they loaded my belongings. I was told to prepare for 9-14 days without my stuff, they beat me to my destination and were waiting when I arrived 2 days later. The company was responsive and always followed up when they said they would. They even delivered free boxes and packing items to my home 8 wks prior to my move date. I was extremely impressed with Armstrong Relocation! I recently moved from Fort Lauderdale,FL up to Saint Augustine,FL (which is approximately 4 hours North). It was my first big move, so of course I was dreading it.. everyone knows how stressful moving can be. However, everybody at Armstrong made the experience incredibly easy on me. From the beginning : Marcia (my coordinator) did an excellent job communicating with Armstrong and myself ensuring we were all on the same page come moving day.. And Mary Ann (my sales person), was as friendly as can be and made sure her estimates were on point. Kevin (the team driver), and other movers Jimmy and Alex were great! Armstrong relocation in pompano beach Florida is the absolute worst company on the planet. My sister and I pleaded with my mom to use a large known company, even if they weren't the cheapest. My dad passed away suddenly and we had to move my mom and aunt from fl to az. Steve Glassman was the first rep we met. He came to my moms home and took a pretty thorough inventory of items to be moved and gave us the estimate. He was professional and reassuring that the contents of moms home would be packed carefully and arrive across country safely. The first issue arose on day one when the packing crew came. They told us they had their best crew coming. Well, there were three very young men and pretty inexperienced. They couldn't figure out how to remove a piece of furniture from a bedroom and my uncle had to help them. They were ready to take the door down or take the piece of furniture apart. Then several expensive pieces of jewelry went missing from the house. A police report was filed and the crew kept reassuring us that the items would show up in az. While I was trying to keep on eye on all three guys to oversee the packing, I saw one of them putting breakable porcelain collectibles into a box without wrapping any of the pieces. When I questioned him, he said he thought they were toys. This move was going to involve packing a smaller truck and then going to a warehouse to unload the truck and then another crew whom we never met would load everything onto the larger truck. We had no way of knowing that some of the packing done at the house was temporary and would be unpacked at the warehouse. For example a very expensive crystal chandelier that was wrapped in padding was going to be unwrapped and left on the floor of the warehouse and then just put onto the floor of the truck. That's right. No box no padding nothing. The truck was MIA for a couple of days. When I contacted Cece Burgess she told me she couldn't locate the truck via gps and the driver refused to answer his phone. Then she told me he was in one state when he was several states away. The driver arrived five days late. They did pay us the late fee of $100 per day. We thought that our nightmare was over. Far from it. My sister had signed off on the contents upon the unloading of the truck. Allegedly she signed for everything being delivered. Now if you go by the manifest and match box for box and loose item by item, then I suppose she signed for everything.The problem is that how would one know that every single box and item that went onto the truck from the pickup was listed on the manifest unless one of us stood by the truck for two days while it was loaded. We were eventually told that the manager of the crew couldn't make it to our packing so they sent his son. He was a very polite guy, but apparently not able to properly supervise anyone. We had several thousand dollars in damage and several more in missing items, not including the jewelry that was stolen. After everything was unpacked one of the pieces of jewelry was found loose in a box. No jewelry should have been in any box since we were not shipping jewelry across the country in a truck. Damages included the unpacked chandelier, china cabinet wood damage, curio cabinet wood gouged, sofa skirt needed to be sewn because it was hanging off, recliner chair had grease stains, imported tables from Italy scratched, antique dresser mirror broken, vintage torchierre lamp glass shade broken in pieces, silk lamp shade from table lamp torn to shreds, wall painting creased, glass table top from console table broken, several silk flower arrangements ruined. This is from my memory so I am sure this is not a complete list.The missing items included a three foot cheetah ceramic statue, some flatware, jewelry as mentioned, carpet sweeper and I don't recall what else. Now here's the best part. When the adjuster came to the az home he took pics of damaged items, including the curio cabinet. Armstrong refused to cover it stating it wasn't on the manifest! So how did it get across country. Did we hire another company for one item. I even provided pics and texted Clarence, who was the lead packer in fl. I am sure he would have remembered moving it. So back to my earlier point, how would one know that the manifest was complete unless one of us, the customers did the packers job. And the cheetah was not on the list.That never made it to az as I suspect it was broken into pieces somewhere along the way. That item is in the same pic as the curio cabinet and both items were on the estimate and inventory taken by Steve Glassman. When my sister questioned the driver as to why the chandelier wasn't packed in anything, he said he was surprised too and that it was up to Steve to have left instructions to do so. When questioned why he didn't answer Ceces calls when he was MIA, he claims she was lying. When we tried to get monies for the jewelry, there was finger pointing back and no $ paid. Absolutely the WORST moving experience EVER! We have moved 10 times within 17 years. This was simply THE WORST! After I signed with the sales rep NEVER heard from him again. Never received the info packet, forms - nothing. After making payment on-line, never heard from my coordinator. Asked for boxes & materials to be dropped off at my home, so we could get a head start on packing - never delivered. The only time I heard from my coordinator was when she was returning my call. The driver of the moving truck ran over & destroyed not only my mailbox, but my neighbors as well. The 3rd party (crating svc) showed up (unannounced both times) to crate & uncrate some glass pieces. Good thing I happened to be home, since they made such a long drive. They showed up to uncrate before the moving truck even arrived. There was nothing for them to uncrate. Ninety percent of my furniture was damaged in some shape or form - dings, dents, scuff marks or simply broken. They were so rough handling our furniture! Things weren't packed properly & were broken in transit. My bike was damaged & they refused to pay the $90 repair bill. Horrible company & horrible customer service. We had always used Graebel in the past & rarely had any issues. They follow through with their claim reimbursements in the rare occaision that something is damaged. They're a little more expensive, but in this case I feel like we got what we paid for. read more

We were lucky enough to get Mike, Mike and Danielle from ST Pete FL and they were the best! They were very professional, wrapped everything, were careful and quick! They worked so hard for hours in 90 degree Florida summer heat and never once complained. Our furniture arrived in the exact same condition it was before the move! Not one scratch! They protected our floors, put everything exactly where we wanted it and were such a pleasure to work with. We would highly recommend this team and United Van Lines.
