Post homecoming night out - a group of us came for brunch. We expected to be split up due to the busy time we came and having a large group. We all got seated relatively quick and although apart, we were satisfied with the little to no wait. Food options were great, super fair prices and clean space (minus the bathrooms that our group literally couldn't use because they had no toilet paper, soap and were just icky). We went with a loaded hash brown meal which was greasy and mostly veggies instead of potatoes but a decent meal after a night of adult beverages. My boyfriend got a hollandaise, sausage and hash brown meal and enjoyed it. Getting our food was weird though, the couple we were with got half their food (came lukewarm) and ate it before our food came. They didn't get the rest of their food till we were all done eating. The server was kind though and regularly checking the kitchen and even discounted it. Wouldn't rush to come back but good, cheap breakfast when in Mankato and kind staff! (Go bathroom before you come because bathrooms were not in good shape). read more

This place could be so good. The food is decent BUT they are always out of everything. Every time we go, no ketchup, no straws, no ceasar dressing, no ink for the receipts. Whoever runs this place needs to get it together please. This isn't a one time thing. It's every time we go visit our kid at college. We won't be back to weggy's. Wow!! What an awesome place. The food was fantastic. The service was very prompt and she was very busy. The place was decorated in Mankato sports and other bar memorabilia. Strike 3, you're out!!!!! I know that weggy's on campus has a strong following so please do not hate, but only appreciate my review. For very long time I had heard how weggy's has the best food, so I gave it a try and it did not impress. Then we went back a second time and it was equally unimpressive. This time around, I decided to try breakfast figuring that that could be their go-to, still very unimpressive. It first started off with a waitress who was barely listening to me, followed by an unenthusiastic completion of my order, to the dirty side of the table which she chose to ignore or maybe didn't see. When my omelette and hash browns arrived it was delivered by the kitchen staff who said sorry to me for some reason. I thought the food was delivered in a timely manner but he must just be used to people complaining.‍ I do not know if it is a growing trend, or something that everyone has just become accustomed to but eggs do not come from a carton!!!! The Omelette head absolutely no taste, and I don't know if it was just me, but I could have swore the entire time I was eating my food I was getting a heavy smell of dish soap. I prefer to not think about where it was coming from. The hash browns were all right, although they need to cook them a little bit more because they felt a little cold in the center. But at least I didn't burn my mouth. The one bright side I will give this establishment is their butter is really I had a side of toast with my omelette and the butter they had on the bread really popped. Not overpowering, but also, not too weak. Also, the Aesthetics are pleasing, I really like that they have three TVs over the bar playing different channels, the Ambiance is pleasing to the eyes and the ears. Also, I appreciate the booths being roomy and not cramped in. You can easily sit eight people at one table comfortably. That is really the best things I can say about this establishment. So if you're going someplace for the seating, I guess weggy's on campuses for you. read more

This is definitely a campus vibe place, although when we went there were no college kids. The food all sounded amazing, but almost everything could have used 2-3 minutes longer on the grill. The sausage was grey like a fast food patty, eggs were clearly out of a bag and the gravy was congealed. The star of the two meals was the tortillas. Service was as to be expected at a greasy spoon. Go for the cheap prices or a hangover meal. read more

i am sad to write such a bad review considering me and my family have always loved eating here. It was not busy during the time and the whole place was just filthy.the bathrooms looked lIke they haven't been touched in days. None of the tables were cleared. The floor was absolutely disgusting. Food everywhere, our waitress Greta seemed like she didn't wanna be there at all. We weren't given silverware, or any condiments. She dropped my straw on the floor and just left it. Granted she gave me a new one but just added to the continued mess all over the floor. My children ordered pancakes that were supposed to have whipped cream and all the fun stuff on them and none of them did. Or drinks didn't have any ice and hashbrowns were ice cold not even cooked. just a really sad and disappointing trip especially making the drive over to Mankato. read more

A big THANK YOU to the Weggy's team for accommodating our large group for a birthday brunch on a Sunday! The room in the back of the restaurant is great for large gatherings. Honestly, I didn't even want to go here, but I'm glad I did. The Stomper breakfast sandwich was just enough to fill me up, but then to dip it in a side of sausage gravy was a chef's kiss. I'm pretty picky about sausage gravy, theirs is legit. Plenty of sausage, not lumpy, creamy, and a good amount of pepper. The table wasn't clean when we sat down though and the service was pretty slow. read more

My family used to go to Weggy's for Sunday brunch on a regular basis but the service has gone downhill lately. The last two times we have gone, one person in our small party (4 people) didn't get their food until others were completely done eating. In the most recent scenario, we had to flag our waitress down to ask for the missing plate, she went to the kitchen and got the plate, the food was completely cold, and we still got charged for the food. We received a friendly greeting and were sat quickly. We ordered the What's up Doc? (veggie) omelet, which was great. Who knew celery would be good in an omelet? We also had the regular French toast, which was a great addition. Our server was very attentive and friendly. I brought a family members new to the area to try it for there birthday request all older people :... honestly I suggested somewhere else... it was 1230 the place was gross a mess... pretty sure our waitress was a bus person of some sort?!.. I ordered a turkey melt subbing American cheese she's like I'm not sure making round motions with her hands if they have that ..I'm like ok ask .. family member's order pancakes and bacon, strawberry waffle with bacon no whip and biscuits and gravy... I get the melt the wrong cheese I mention it absolutely no turkey on this sandwich and 1 half slice on each side crazy she says they we remake her fault family members do not receive there food we wait another 15 min .. waffle comes out wrong .. they fix it .. waitress spills cups on the floor in mean time from other tables looks like she's going to cry ...she puts towels on the floor never cleans it up!! I have disabled people withe me!! And in the the end I still really did not get the sauces I ordered with my meal at the beginning...as she did not return ... I still felt bad for the busier/waitress and tipped shame on you to the ladies who just stood around talking to people ... maybe you do not know us but I'm sure the other guests in my party will never be back again!!! The top brunch spot in Mankato. Whether you want breakfast or lunch, Weggy's has a separate giant menu for each. While it was graduation weekend and was extremely busy, management and servers were well prepared for it. The servers took great care of our big party. All the food items looked great. The place is just horribly dirty, the tables the bar the slat and pepper shakers the cream and sugar containers. the cooks are absolutely the worst cooks in Mankato , you tell they just don't care. The food was inedible I got the oldest bacon I asked for crispy hash browns got smallest portion of barely cooked hash browns. The entire plate of food was cold ! The chicken sandwich was not fully cooked cause the oil u can tell is dirty the outside crispy crispy and inside is pink. I am sure the kitchen is not clean either. it was the worst 32.00 I've ever spent I've had many bad meals here but after today I WILL NEVER RETURN and I would like someone to follow up about returning my 32.00. I thought the banana walnut pancakes where awesome. Bananas are cooked right in the pancakes along with the walnuts. Batter was slightly sweet, but I like that In a pancake. The boyfriend wasn't overly impressed with his choice unfortunately, said that it tasted a bit bland. Overall worth it for the pancakes if your into them. read more

I am not sure how Weggy's gets voted best breakfast in Mankato. It was packed when we arrived Sunday morning but what we didn't realize is that it wasn't because the food was good but more to do that no food was coming out of the kitchen. We soon realized it after sitting for over an hour for our breakfast food to arrive. This is quick service/diner type food and to take over an hour is certainly strange. The food that did arrive was cold, even though the plates were hot. Made you wonder how long they had been sitting in the warmer. The omelette was very bland and was made with what appeared to be the eggs you buy in the box. The people around us were talking loud and throwing f-bombs. Overall the experience, food and service lacked a lot for being voted the best breakfast stop in Mankato. It won't be our next breakfast stop anytime soon. read more

Sausage patties were mushy and tasted like they were held in a watered warmer until ready to throw on the griddle. They were gray. My toast was warm bread, not toasted. Hash browns were semi raw. Lots to choose from on the menu, however, if you are unable to make toast and eggs you should probably focus on that before providing options. read more

I had lunch at Weggy's on a Tuesday. I was surprised how well staffed they appeared to be considering the current employment environment. That did not help the quality of service. I sat at the bar but could not get anyone's attention for several minutes after I arrived. There was one gentlemen eating at the bar, the bar was dirty from previous customers. Once I finally got a person attention there was no offer clean my area. Placed my order (Buffalo Chicken Salad) which was fine, nothing special. When I arrived at my scheduled time. They didn't even have the order in their system. The staff made no apologies and I was told there was a printer error only after waiting 15 minutes in vain. Best breakfast in town! Nothing beats Weggy's for breakfast, great menu options that meets the needs of everyone. Family friendly atmosphere allows for a nice family outing. I have ordered take out from Weggy's often and the last three visits the cooks have left out items I requested be added. On the receipt or ticket order it's clearly printed what is to be added. So I kindly show the meal to the servers and what was left out, they promptly take it back to be remade correctly. I wait patiently and then satisfied the meal is remade. The food is average and they seem to need more staff or more competent staff for that matter. I was a server and bartender 20+ years ago for a few years and the work ethic and customer service today, has seemed to gradually decline compared to "back then". It's quite sad especially since inflation has everyone paying more for mediocre service at best. Either way for such a busy campus restaurant you think the service would be top notch. I go to Weggy's about once a month and will be looking elsewhere for take out orders. read more

We came here on Easter morning. We sat at the bar since there was only two of us. The service was amazing. All of the staff was extremely friendly and made a great team. We witnessed them working hard and together as one team. The owners should be grateful for such a great group of young adults. I'm torn. So many things a liked....but too many things I didn't. I've been here twice. Both times the service was excellent...servers were friendly, helpful and efficient. Both times I was served a bunch of food at a very reasonable price. Yet both times there were things I wasn't crazy about. So my rating here is 4* - I probably should have gone with a 3 but there are too many low ratings for this place for stupid reasons and with a few changes, this place could be good. Eggs Benedict 3/5: I subbed sausage patties for the Canadian bacon because I like to buy American (kidding). Everything about this dish was good. Just good. Tasty sausage, eggs done right, nice crispy hash browns but the hollandaise sauce not impressive. And it was safety vest yellow. But at least today they had English muffins. Blueberry Pancake 5/5: The pancakes here are sweet. Surprisingly sweet. At first bite I was a little shocked. It's like they make their pancakes with cake batter. Yet the more bites I took, the more I liked it. I think you'd get tired of the sweetness eventually but for one cake it was pleasant. In fact, my 2nd trip was largely due to my desire to check them out again. Tres Amigos Benedict (aka salsa soup benny) 3.5/5: on my 2nd visit I wanted the benedict again but i wasn't interested in the hollandaise this time. The Tres Amigos boasted that the dish was topped with queso cheese sauce. Perfect! (I thought). Problem #1 - they were out of English Muffins, but since I had my mind set, I took her recommendation and ordered it on biscuits. Problem #2 - the dish came out covered in what would describe as salsa soup. Again, the dish was good...not great. The biscuits actually worked well - the further I got into this dish the more the sauce tasted like tomato soup with salsa. Not a fan of the sauce. Strawberry Pancake 5/5: The blueberry cakes were really good but the strawberry cakes were better. Big chunks of strawberries IN the sweet cakes. So good, in fact, I at about 1/2 of the pancake without syrup. Very good. My major dislike: FLIES. I know its summer and I know the little bastards are hard to control but I had 3 of the little pests circling me the whole meal. They need some better equipment in place to eradicate these little monsters. I might go back but I won't miss this place if I don't. It's too bad - could be a great little place. read more

Reasonable price point for the food options. Variety of choices. Have to stop back and try the breakfast! FYI: Be careful the grey laminated wood flooring in the back section is as slick as an ice skating rink. Odd I know just wanted the owner to be aware might want to go another direction with this flooring option and patrons be aware when walking in that section. read more

Food was a 2,service was a 2 cleanliness 0 . I am not sure there was a Clean table in the place, my wife went into the restroom and seen a dirt adult diaper on the floor. The main floor was dirty and could have run a broom across the floor, it seemed like they have the staff as I counted 6 workers, only 8 customers on the floor and 3 at the bar. The smell of grease in the place was almost overwhelming. It's like that every time I went there,my wife brought it to the management thru email and was told the belt broke on the fan. This is my first time being here and right away I was blown away at the service we received. If you come here ask for Julia to serve you. She as on top of drinks and the food came out extremely fast.
