terrible. We have waited for very long. The servers seem confused and wander around. The water wasn't even refilled and to order it took around ten minutes. Drinks took forty to fifty minutes. Appetizers took ninety minutes. They messed up the orders and the food was cold. The drinks and soups were watered down and had little taste. The food is oily, lacking in flavor, and the service was terrible. A 20% tip charge was placed before hand automatically and they still expected tips!!! Never going back. Overpriced for sad food, small portions, and bad taste. read more

I was staying at Salishan for a long weekend. The first night we grabbed dinner here. The service was not great, the server walked away multiple times while we were trying to order more and didn't check up on us between apps and meals for drink orders. Didn't come back once the food was dropped off. They were out of flatbread, which is used to make several menu items. Other large parties came in without reservations and were prioritized over us with a reservation. And the food we ended up getting was not good. In the end it was a very expensive meal for a poor experience. Overall, do not recommend. Leave the lodge for a better meal experience and better food. read more

The staff here was competent, able to take our order and make recommendations. Otherwise, staffing was adequate but disengaged, standing around chatting with prior acquaintances. It did take 20 minutes for our order to be taken. We were asked to move to a lesser capacity table when it became available, and complied - good for everyone. Order taken, a Salishan Sour and a Best Gin&Tonic arrived promptly followed by halibut ceviche and Buffalo wings. The Buffalo wings had a nice Smokey flair to them, but the others were disappointing. 2 minutes later our entrees arrived - a Hawaiian chicken sandwich and Fish & Chips. The chicken sandwich arrived cold, the fish & chips were undercooked - still mushy in the middle. We finished about 75% and sought other adventures when our drinks emptied. Good enough, with no planning on our part for a few contrails. Skip the food. read more

I love that they have so many vegetarian and vegan options - our first night, I ordered the vegetable poutine (vegan) so no cheese curds - this was my favorite dish of them all. The wild mushrooms are huge and were incredibly flavorful! The rosemary potato wedges... heaven, perfectly crispy, salty, 10/10 delicious. The mushroom gravy was okay - had an alright flavor, the consistency/visual appeal was a 4/10. That said, overall, the dish was great and I would definitely order it again. That night my main dish was the quinoa farro beet burger and it was not my jam - I was really excited to try it because I had a beet burger in Portland years back and it was delicious, this was not - it was so oddly sweet that it was borderline inedible. I couldn't put my finger on it at first but then I realized it just tasted like a BBQ or sloppy joe patty/burger - that's how sweet it was. I tried each component separately to isolate the taste and it was the patty itself. It was also really oddly spiced. Whatever binder was used wasn't enough because it immediately crumbled/fell apart as soon as I took the first bite. It was super mushy. I mustered through as much of it as I could because I hate wasting food but I would never order it again. The side salad was delicious. On the second night I got the coconut and butternut squash soup - solid, 8/10, flavor was as expected, a little lackluster but yummy. My entree was the wild mushrooms and poblano tacos - the wild mushrooms made it, the corn tortillas were also on point, the rest was meh - 6/10, better than the quinoa farro beet burger but I also wouldn't likely order it again. The vibe inside and all of the staff were/are wonderful, the Open Table reservation process was super easy and convenient. I appreciate their efforts to be inclusive, I just wish whoever is behind the vegetarian/vegan dishes adds a tad more love/seasoning because aside from the poutine, most of the dishes were fairly bland flavor profile wise (minus the beet burger monstrosity... how does that even happen with tacos and guacamole and hot sauce?! I don't know how, but they did it, they made a taco bland...). My non-vegan husband enjoyed his dishes, we look forward to exploring the menu further on our next stay/visit. read more

Ordered cocktails and dinner at 6pm. The cocktails arrived after waiting 30-40 minutes. Food was still not there and hour and 20 minutes later. We left, sorely disappointed in the lack of service. Not once did anyone come check on our table. read more

Food was so-so (my wife liked it more than I did). The service was painfully slow. (Insert management excuses of not having enough staff here) EVERYTHING came slowly. I didn't bring a jacket to sit outside, but I was told that they would fire-up the propane heaters. Two of the four heaters on the deck were out of propane. You have outdoor evening seating, and you don't check the fuel level of the heaters? We were told by the waiter "training" the other waiter that she would get more propane (wait for it...) when she had the time. (That really put the "Cuss" in "Customer Service," huh? ) Guess what she never had time to do? After seeing our waiters doing everything BUT getting more propane, my wife told them we were moving near one of the two fueled heaters. The "trainer" waiter looked like she swallowed a bug when she heard my wife say that. I assume it would throw off their seating arrangement. Make sure you have full tanks of propane then. We were checked on twice the entire meal; once for the "may I take your plates?" and again for the "How was the dessert?" When our check didn't come for a really long time after our table was cleared, I stood behind my chair, thinking SOMEONE would notice. Even THAT didn't elicit a response for a while. Eventually, our trainee waiter came over and asked if our check had arrived yet. I said no and handed him my card (I could just imagine how long it would take to get the bill). The trainee came back quickly with my credit receipt to sign. The trainee was refreshingly genuine and eager to learn. I hope he keeps those qualities. read more

Food was terrible, it came out cold, then sent it to warm up and it came back 20 minutes later still cold. For a meal that cost $40 a entree it should be warmer than pulling it out of a fridge. The prime rib was cold and cooked to well done, the stuffed mushroom was just stuffed with a cup of sour cream at $28 . Took 45 minutes with a reservation to get a drink to the table. We were looking forward to having a great meal while staying at the lodge but do yourself a favor and go anywhere else to eat McDonald's is better which is saying something. read more

Despite lots of blah blah blah from the new management, the only changes are for the worst. The food options are few, expensive and are not very good. They offer no happy hours options on food, with one wine on happy hour for a buck off, and a buck off well drinks. The place is deserted lifeless and has no appeal or energy. Lobster Macaroni & Cheese. Oh yeah, that's right. I love lobster (or crab, shrimp and other related crustaceans) and adore mac & cheese. So when I spied this during our make up V-Day weekend I knew we'd be eating here simply to eat that. We went on a Sunday which was pretty slow, though we'd come the night before just for drinks and the place was hoppin' with some live music. Service for us was super quick & polite and we enjoyed some seating by the fireplace. So obviously I got myself the mac & cheese and the boy got himself a pizza. Both of us were totally pleased with our selections. They didn't skimp on the lobster & the mix of cheese was superb. I ate every last bit of it. The boy loved his pizza too & he's not one to say such things so that's a good thing. Definitely a good option if you're not looking to drop $$$ down in the Dining room. read more

My wife snd I have been coming to Salishan for years, but this was the first time since the covid nonsense started. Menu is much smaller and there is really no standout or signature entree. One burger choice. My wife said it was good. I ordered pizza because the burger comes with chips or potato salad. No fries. Really? The pizza appeared to be made on a boboli crust. Meh. We stayed at Salishan for a few nights and we enjoyed the pool, nature trail and outdoor fire pit. However, our dinner at The Attic was overpriced and a 3 out of four miss. My husband enjoyed the chicken sandwich and the fries were great. However, the risotto tasted like bland oatmeal, French onion soup as thin and the cheese crostini under cooked. My daughters Mac and cheese came out with unmelted cheddar cheese on top and after stirring it in it didn't fully combine due to the cool temperature. A little salt/pepper and attention to detail could make this place edible. read more

We were hesitant to try out a hotel lounge but given the limited options in the area we did. It was GREAT! There was live music (variety of bluegrass and folk), friendly staff, delicious food, and good atmosphere. You're not going to get "cool hip Portland lounge" feels here, but for the variety of food options and honestly large portions, we left feeling very happy about our choice. We got the avocado bean hummus which was sooooo goooood. We were debating about how to replicate this at home because it wa sap different from anything else. They also gave us gluten free options for my husband! Yey! Salmon was good as well with creative flavors that were complimentary to salmons natural deliciousness Beet salad- mmmhm! Staff has clearly not been trained and the drinks are far too complicated to only have one very new bartender making drinks for both the tables and the bar. Food is ok. Lots of standing around by the servers while the bartender treaded water. This place needs to hire another bartender. Servers asking really basic questions which shows they aren't trained AT ALL. Still don't understand how no one was helping the bartender. Bartender had hands full but was not able to prioritize bar patrons or multitask at all. Drinks were taking 20-30 minutes and people were pissed and walking out. I saw multiple tables leave due to the time it took to get a very simple drink. This place really has to step it up if it is a "four star resort." I recommend going across the street to the brewery or down to pelican brewery. This place takes FOREVER for mediocre food. read more

I was just there this weekend (2/24/23) and ordered a drink- which was delicious and the seafood Mac and Cheese. The food was cold and flavorless. I seasoned it with salt and pepper and couldn't get enough flavor in it. I informed the waitress, but she just apologized and brought me the bill. $34 for that bowl of cold Mac and cheese was ridiculous. read more

I went back here with great trepidation. I have seen Salishan through many ownership changes, and they were always disappointing - until this one. What a surprise! The food and menu were inspired. And the service was absolutely wonderful. I would highly recommend if you're in the area. read more

Didn't want to leave the hotel in the rain so stayed and went to their lounge. Gaaaah. The service was subpar to be polite. When I asked the waitress about the freshness of a particular seafood she looked at me as so she was sure I've never seen the inside of nice place and assured me they were a five star restaurant and everything was fresh. After that I had to get up as get my own silverware since she had forgotten to bring utensils after several requests. The last two request made after my food arrived. The rest of the service was slow and she continued to be forgetful everyone else in my party. Oh and my "five star" food was burnt and not flavorful. Crazily enough during a break in the conference we went back to the lounge. Again service was slow and she (the same waitress as the previous night) divided the check incorrectly. Mind blowingly she then asked us to hand her the signed checks before we even left table. RUDE! read more

Used to love going here to socialize with our neighbors. They use to have a great happy hour menu Monday thru Friday with each night having a special. Thursday was .50 cent wings that were fabulous. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at the attic Barr! Julia was fabulous giving us lots of tips on drink and menu choices! Very patient with all of our questions! My husband had the campfire cocktail with smoke! He thoroughly enjoyed it I had the Pacific wandererlust, very good. C) the live music on the weekends ends at 9! They should extend the time til close and start the music at 7-8 verses 6. The wine and beer selection is very limited. Amazing food! The burger is huge and probably one of the best 5 burgers I've ever had. Crab bisque was also fabulous - lots of crab.

Also had the happy hour salmon poké...a substantial amount of fish, way more than a lot of restaurants would give you for an order of poké...refreshing and light. We read some mediocre reviews on yelp, so we were pleasantly surprised at how good this place was. Perhaps they overhauled their menu, because this was excellent and we will be back when staying at Salishan. read more

After almost 20 years of excellent service and good times I will not be returning to the lounge. The last time I was in I had a pretty young blonde wait on me. There were not many people in the lounge but our service was slow, unenthusiastic, and snarky. I hate complaining, but I actually had to call her out twice for chatting it up while our party waited with empty glasses and dirty plates. I was embarrassed after raving about how great it was going to be. Super disappointed. read more

We sat at a table for 40 minutes and nobody even acknowledged we were there. We walked up to the bar and got our own menus and still nobody came to our table. As we walked out they told us they were very busy, but they certainly were not. It was maybe half full. Time to hire some friendlier, harder working staff. We had a very bad experience trying to enjoy a nice evening. We seated ourselves and were ignored. Then the waitress slapped down 2 menus and expected us to speed read the menus, ask no questions and order!!!!! She was impatient, rude and unattentive. The bartender was equally rude and just as dismissive. The food was average at best and the price was high for the quality.
