This is a restaurant that has been around for a long time but is under new Management. They are located on the grounds of the Salishan hotel and gold course. The grounds for the hotel are relaxing and inviting. It reminds me of the old school resorts of the mid west and the Catskills of my. Imagine the resort in dirty dancing. They have made a very good effort at high end dining on the Oregon coast. There was a good selection of food and the quality was also good. Service was attentive. The bread: it didn't appear like anything special but the raspberry butter was nice. The appetizers were excellent. I had the crab Louis and my wife had the apple salad. Both had great presentation and taste. The apples were fresh and crisp. The crab was moist and filling, and the salad accompanying helped to balance the flavor. Main dish: I had the sturgeon and it was good but not great. It felt like a steak in consistency so that is good if you are looking for a steak but don't want the red meat. The sauce was flavorfully mild. My wife had the scallops and she loved them. They were light and the eggs on top added a great flavor and goo that was delicious. Dessert was cheesecake and was good as expected. Their wine selection was very good. There were probably 400 wines on the list. Ambience: I wish they had table cloths and the fire was on. The view was great. When we came there were not that many people but it filled in a little. This restaurant is clearly on a positive way towards being a very nice fine dining establishment.

He suggested we have a sampling taste of the soups of the day before ordering. We settled on two different cups of soup. Then ordered our entrees. One was a basic hamburger plain with just bacon. The person who ordered it said it was the best tasting burger he ever had. I ordered the bouillabaisse that had shrimp. Scallops, crab, and a wonderful piece of Halibut. The sauce was extremely tasty. Another entree sautéed oysters. Everything was outstanding. We don't stop and ordered desserts that our waiter suggested. It was just a fantastic experience.

Ordered the Lemongrass stew was supposed to have scallops, shrimp, cod, and salmon unfortunately my stew only had two small pieces of cod and two shrimp:( no scallops no salmon to be found nowhere. My wife's placed the order for the chicken zucchini pesto, pistachio pasta, unfortunately, the chicken was not edible, and some pieces were raw. The flavor on the stew was very blend not creamy but runny soup. I don't mind a small portions. I'm thinking their goal is to do somewhat of gourmet cooking. The issue is not having or even getting to taste what was supposed to be on your plate:( I would definitely recommend this place for drinks and view, the calamari was delicious and do recommended!

Went to celebrate a friends birthday and we had a great experience. Service was good and the food was excellent. View is outstanding. We had clams for an appetizer. Sadly, today will be our last visit! We began the day very much looking forward to celebrating my mom with a drive (from Salem) to Depoe Bay to dine at Tidal Raves. The experience was tainted from the moment we entered the restaurant. The service and the staff's careless attitude are certainly not welcoming! Starting with the first face you see upon entering, the young man is rude and arrogant, giving off a very negative, devil-may-care, "unhappy to be here" vibe. He was especially obnoxious and rude to my 89-year-old mother, whose birthday we were sharing today. He behaved this way with every patron! There is one server who is always pleasant and attentive (the man with tattoos); unfortunately, he was not our server today. A large brunette woman, who was abrupt and offered no appropriate response to our questions or comments, was our server. Out of the 4 of us, 3 ordered a cup of salmon chowder along with full entrees; for some reason, she delivered 2 cups and 1 bowl, never returning to check in. A young man delivered our food without a word. The food was fine- nothing special, but the heavy sauces and potatoes served with the steak overwhelmed the other tastes. Our experience was marred by the lacklustre staff, which created an unpleasant overall ambience. We were not the only patrons who felt ignored; many around us had the same experience. There are now, more than ever, terrific restaurants on the Oregon Coast where we would be welcome to spend our $ 150+ on a meal. I would have left our server the minimum tip, but my mother insisted on leaving a far too generous gratuity of $26 for the most basic of service. Very sad to see one of our tried and true restaurants going the way of so many: downhill. The only redeeming quality today is, of course, the ocean view.

We started with cocktails, and their selection is great, including some really thoughtful non-alcoholic options with adaptogen tinctures. Decided to keep it light with a soup and salad night, and it was the perfect choice. The soup du jour was a chicken pozole--so flavorful and comforting. The Caesar salad was amazing and hit all the right notes. We wrapped things up with a marionberry cobbler, which was the perfect sweet finish. Service always makes a difference, and Skyler was fantastic--friendly, attentive, and full of great recommendations. This spot continues to be a go-to for us, and we'll definitely be back.

Better choice - sit on deck so it is background sounds. The menu is ok and presentation beautiful but flavors could pop more. Halibut was thin and side dishes bland. Filet small and plate beautiful. Ginger Chicken salad looked good too but when asked nobody would order same dish again. Better choice- enjoy a drink on deck and head to other local choices like Side Door.

We got the seafood platter as an appetizer and it was so delicious! We got to try a little bit of everything. We were pretty full just off of that but got entrees. The ahi poke in the seafood platter was so good I had to get it as my main. The sauce was so incredible with fresh avocado. I NEED that recipe. I would come back to Newport just for the ahi poke bowl. My fiance got the dungeness crab mac and cheese and it was without a doubt THE BEST mac and cheese we've ever had. We are Mac and cheese connoisseurs so that says a lot. The sauce was so perfect and the crab was very generous. To top it all off I thought the post cards at the end were very sweet. Appearance - We recommend sitting near the window and you'll get the view of the World's smallest harbor! If you're lucky, like us, maybe you'll get to see a baby sea lion. Taste - I'm a sucker for a delicious grilled cheese. I am quite picky about the cheese, bread, how crispy it is and what not. This one hit the spot! I specifically liked the seasoning (I believe it was parsley) they added to the bread. The tomato soup on the other hand was not my favorite, I tend to prefer more of a tomato bisque because it's creamier. Their's tasted more like vegetable soup. My husband ordered the chicken tender basket and they were nothing to write home about. They were very bready and for 4 pieces it was $17! That felt quite pricey considering it was from the kids menu... yes I know we are adults ordering off the kids menu, but we were just craving some homey meals when traveling on the road. Let me tell you about the popcorn shrimp though.... MMM I liked em! A lot! I'm used to having popcorn shrimp with the tiny, tiny shrimp but I enjoyed this switch up. It included a flavorful chili-lime aioli to dip in as well!
