I can't believe I never reviewed this place. I was sitting in here with my Ipad, I could have been doing it. DH stopped in here a few weeks back on the way back from Salem and watching our band play.. Left Coast Country. That was a fun trip. So yes found this place on Yelp no less. When we arrived in here, it was clear we were not regulars or even from the area. Very little people were in here and almost no one at the bar. They poured nice size drinks and the beer I guess was good, I'll take DH word for it. Nice little place and if I was in the area again, I would definitely go again. Nice "divy" feel. No food was ordered, but then again I rarely go into these kind of places to eat. read more

I wish I could give this 0 stars. Came in from a long drive and sat at the bar. The bartenders were rude and not very inviting. They asked for an ID and rolled there eyes I asked to place an order and they said they would be back to take it. I sat there for 20 min while they continued their conversations amongst each other. They were to busy laughing and having side conversations. I left without ever getting food and only a water to drink since they never came back. Save your time and go else where read more

We were driving up I-5 and got hungry. Got off at the Aurora Antique District exit 278 thinking there would be a someplace better than fast food. Just 3 miles east of I-5 we found this little gem. Looks like a local dive-bar but we were surprised with the good service and great food. Shelby, is the niece of the owner and is friendly while not being too familiar. Wife got the Western burger and I got the Sriracha-Jalapeno-Pepperjack-Bacon burger. Delicious and the fries were done well. Worth short drive from the interstate. A bit pricey is why not a 5 star. read more

First off, tonight is TACO TUESDAY...and for the locals???? what better way to spend one of the most boring days of the week. Whenever I meet some friends in this cozy little dive, we tend to ALWAYS be the youngest ones there by about 15+ years :) That being said, we all have our favorite friendly old drunks at the pub that make their rounds, waving, smiling and doling out hugs to any takers :) There is one ample pool table that we tend to monopolize each time we come to play, but in all reality everyone here is pretty good at sharing...so you'll get your turn. Mikey is my favorite behind the bar :) Makes the best drinks in my opinion. But the other gals come in close. So all in all, this place has a cute/decent little outdoor patio with umbrellas, a jukebox, a few tv screens with games playing, a back room with plenty of gambling games, a pool table, a few dark cozy booths, and as I said before....the locals. If you're looking for an authentically lazy Aurora night, this is your place :) P.S. I have been to a few of their live music, and holiday events. It's a fairly divey bar with the typical backroom slottery machines and lotsa cheap beer and its dark and chilly inside, perfect for growing mushrooms. Here is the kicker though, they have pretty good food menu. Their fish 'n chips are actually some of the best I've had. Burgers 'n fries are outstanding. Pretty much anything on the menu is good. It's everything you want from a pub and nothing you don't. They have greasy pub food, beer, juke box and pool tables. Although I'm unsure why they have so much Beaver crap around here? Aside from the vile orange coating the walls the atmosphere is perfect. Is the food here amazing? No, but you're at a pub and you get what you want at a pub - gravy, chili and deep fried. It's interesting because the reviews on here call it divey but if we were in Silver Lake in LA it would be the hippest place in town and I'm sure you'd start seeing Michael Cera awkwardly looking over your shoulder every night. Thanks to Yelp and our location, Aurora Colony Pub really made our dinner after a long day of exploring an awesome experience. Great prices, friendly service, happy hour, nightly specials, a good locals crowd, and a come as you are atmosphere all make this a decent spot for a drink and a meal. Bartender did double duty and didn't miss a beat. Missed her name, but she was really awesome (gorgeous lass with curly hair, in her 20's). First time and last time for this place. My husband and I ordered the same thing, classic burgers with coleslaw. When our orders arrived, the first thing I noticed was that the bun on my burger was rock hard and dark. I tapped it with my fork and it made a loud noise like tapping on hard plastic! My husband's burger had a soft bun. The iceberg lettuce on our burgers was in big clumps of lettuce that would not stay on the burger. The waitress did not come around for ages to check on our meal so my husband ended up giving me half of his burger because mine was inedible. The burgers only came with an orange colored sauce on them, no mayo or catsup. SO, the worst part is that when the waitress finally came around and asked how our meal was and I told her about the rock hard bun she said, "I'm sorry." She never offered to bring me another bun, or burger or to comp us for the inedible burger. She just said she was sorry twice and walked off and never returned. We will never return either. Thursday evening my wife and I got the craving for the Colonys hot wings. So i called and said I wanted a triple order of them. I was asked what kind of sauce I wanted which confused me as I,ve been eating their hot wings for several years with no sauce and they were always very tas ty, I told the person that when ordering. The Aurora Colony Pub is a homey, laid back, laugh a lot place :) The staff is really helpful and attentive. The people here have a very nice vibe. I ordered a Friday Special: Clam Chowder and Crab Louie. Beautiful. The Louie is loaded with fresh bay shrimp and fresh greens. Always a good choice. Some of the best bartenders around. The food has always been excellent and service as well. They do get pretty busy sometimes so you might have to wait a bit. Parking lot can be a cluster chuck on busy nights. read more

In the funky antiques colony of Aurora, this is THE place to go and grab a beer and a burger! We have been in a bunch of times and its always fun, and interesting. The pub is a little divey but cute, and its a locals joint but tourist friendly. Good selection of beers, good service and a decent burger too. read more

I do not have extra fancy expectations, just a good burger is what I want, and I always get it here -- great fries too. Have tried and really enjoyed the fish and chips, and clam chowder, but in all honesty, hard to sway me from the burger and fries. Wow you all must never leave town because we have been going to the colony pub for 15 years, and the food still tastes 15 years old. The burgers are like the bottom of a shoe. Don't waste your money on the food. Please. I don't understand why it's always like rubber. How hard can it be? I asked for a dirty martini one time and the guy had no clue what li was talking about, he laughed and thought I was coming on to him We try this place four times at year hoping they change, but they don't. If the owner is reading this hopefully she will listen. Throw away the menu, hire a real chef that knows how to cook, not just use a fryer. aurora has changed, she needs to change also.
