A diagnosis is the primary service I came in for, and since no diagnosis was provided, I don't feel the charge was justified. A more customer-focused approach would have been to explain that the issue could not be reproduced at the time and suggest returning if the problem became more frequent or asking me to record the sound when it occurred. That would have demonstrated honesty and a genuine effort to help resolve the issue.

Auto Stop installed a rebuilt engine in my VW Vanagon. Within three miles of leaving the shop, the…read morelow coolant warning alarm came on. I immediately returned, but after a brief inspection I was told there was nothing wrong. When I left the shop, the warning alarm came on again. I called Auto Stop, explained that the warning had returned, and was again assured there was nothing wrong. I was told to wait and see if the alarm came on again after driving. Unfortunately, the problem persisted, and I could smell coolant burning on the hot engine. I made it home just before coolant began dripping from the vehicle. At that point, I had the van towed to another repair shop. The second shop found that the primary coolant hose from the reservoir to the engine had been installed incorrectly and was approximately 3/4 inch too short. They also discovered a second hose with a large bulge that was on the verge of rupturing. Both issues required immediate repair. What disappointed me most was not simply that mistakes were made, but that my concerns were repeatedly dismissed. After the warning alarm came on twice within minutes of leaving the shop, I expected a thorough inspection of the cooling system rather than reassurance that nothing was wrong. Because of the improper installation, I incurred more than $500 in additional repair costs, plus the cost of towing the vehicle to another shop. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Auto Stop. The quality of the installation, the lack of careful follow-up, and the poor customer service left me with significant additional expense and inconvenience.

I called a dozen auto shops for an estimate, knowing the pump would cost around $350-$450, And it would only take about half an hour to do(understanding a vehicle repair shop would round up to an hour of labor). Every place said upwards of 700$. Straightaway motors was the last on my list and they estimated 425$ for the whole service, which ended up costing 415$. They didn't over charge, they didn't lie, they were helpful and friendly and I have now returned to them on multiple occasions, experiencing the same fantastic service EVERY TIME. These mechanics are experienced, friendly, and trustworthy. I feel so lucky to have stumbled on such a wonderful business.

It's not very often you find a good reliable place to have your car serviced. I was concerned with me living in Denver and not being familiar with the various auto places in Bozeman. I surfed the web and found Bozeman Community Auto. It had great reviews. I had no choice but to try them. My daughter goes to Montana State in Bozeman and has my Jeep Wrangler. My daughter has had a couple of issues with her car. They fixed my daughter's car at a great price. Their technicians were very knowledgeable, explained exactly what the problem was and what it would take to fix it. Having worked on my Jeep Wrangler before, replacing the cam and rocker arms, I was very familiar with the types of issues that are common on the Jeep. Their assessment was right on! I highly recommend Bozeman Community Auto. Because of their popularity, they are busy. It will take a week or more to get your vehicle in. It's well worth the wait.

I will allow you to determine the fairness of this garage....I am involved with a group of…read moreindividuals who own a Honda Odyssey van, 2001.....we had it towed to this garage for servicing....ended up the alternator needed replacement: the alternator that replaced ours was a remanufactured alternator which we were charged $455.00----I looked on line and found one for $185.00....the labor for putting the alternator in was 2hours @ $160/hour....never have I heard of auto mechanics charging $160 /hour....an extra $160/hour was charged for diagnostics....total bill came to over $900.....I have personally changed alternators in less than 2 hours.....I personally believe this was all excessive.....these are the facts, you make up your own mind

After calling around several places with estimates of waiting a week to 3 months; the guys at Foster's Master Touch were able to re-arrange their schedule to fit me in the next morning. The car was drivable so I delivered it and they kindly gave me a ride back to my hotel and picked me up the following day when the car repair was completed. The repair estimate came in at $320; however they did not have to replace a part so the final bill was $260! As a single female traveling through, not knowing much about car repairs; I was so thankful for the honesty, fairness and how they went above and beyond by getting the car in right away and giving me rides to and from my hotel.
