I'd love to tell you how the food tastes but I placed an order an hour and a half ago and it hasn't arrived yet. And their phone number is just a busy signal so I can't even find out if it is coming. It's always great to find a restaurant or bar that serves good chicken wings. The Avenue's wings are up there. We went for lunch on a Sunday. They have a big brunch scene and also serve a "Lithuanian Brunch." The owner is apparently Lithuanian and used to own a Lithuanian restaurant. We sat at the bar, but saw a plates overflowing with Eastern European food being delivered to the dining room. The bartender was an archetypical bartender. Nice, friendly guy who looked like a middle aged policeman or firefighter on his day off. The Bluepoint lager on tap was very good. We didn't order too much. We split a wing sampler and tried the dry rub, Soul Fire and Ghost Pepper sauces. The latter two ranked as among the hottest wings that I have ever had, requiring celery and blue cheese dressing to keep things under control. The wings were excellent and cooked perfectly. We also tried the loaded fries with chili. The chili had a sweet note that tasted of nutmeg or curry or something llike that. I didn't love it. Nice place- Worth the trip for the wings alone. This is the perfect candidate for that show, Bar Rescue! When you walk in there's a pretty big bar area with a few tables around it. Walking to the bar of the restaurant leads you to its dining area. The decor is outdated and kind of run down. Definitely time for an update or at least a new look. The food is nothing special. I went with the fish tacos when we stopped in for football. The tacos were rather bland wrapped in a tortilla with lettuce and a sauce that I couldn't figure out. The tacos were supposed to come with jalapeño coleslaw but it didn't. Instead it was lettuce and tomatoes with some kind of watery dressing. Very disappointing. The two stars are for the bartender and beer. I don't know her name, but the bartender was friendly, nice, and attentive. I'm pretty sure the only time I'd be back was if there was a snow storm and this place happened to be open. read more

So far this place has been good to me, the mac n cheese is pretty good n large. The burgers are the best, the Caesar salad is waaaaaay too expensive for just some lettuce. If you add chicken, it's a very small portion, not enough for the salad. Also they drench it in Caesar dressing. If u order the expensive onion rings, they will only give u like 8. Picture this, grandmas dining room then place a bar in the center of it. The wings were legit, crispy, moist, amd the sauce were good. everything else was not as great. Overall the place was confusing. Cloth napkins, fake center piece that floats around to the next empty table, plastic plates with the wings, plastic sauce containers to hold ketchup. Wanted to sit at the bar but it looked crowded so we sat in the back. The table next to us ordered a maragrita and the woman did not drink it. I heard her say to much alcohol. if this place would get their act together, the place would be good. Server didnt know her drinks, she was nice but most of the focust was the bar. The burgers were dry, we asked for med well, we got over killed under seasoned burgers. I ordered onion rings instead of fries, I got frozen onion rings fried in old oil and tasted horrible. I just cant go out of my way to come here. My friend ordered a beer, it was warm then got charged for a sam adam. It did not taste like sam at all. Unfortunately, we were a little late for the specials (which end at 2:30) BUT IT DIDN'T MATTER. Happy hour was still on (2:30-7) and featured $3 cocktails. We got a turkey burger with fries ($11) and the chicken wrap with signature sauce ($10) and both wedge AMAZING! I tried every drink I could before leaving. Went here once. An intoxicated latino man in his mid 30s immediately walked up to me and said I was disrespectful for not introducing myself to him. He then began to explain how he's a "made man" and I need to start showing him respect. I motioned for security to come diffuse the situation, but I quickly realized there was none. I recently moved to Glendale. I've been looking for a local place and came across The Avenue. I had been wanting to go there for some time but parking it so bad in the area. I finally decided to go in the wed before New Years day. My daughter was in town from College and she loves wings. We ordered 1/2 dozen MILD and 1/2 dozen SPICEY. The bartender did not seem friendly if you are Not a regular. He was laughing and carrying on with people sitting at the bar and as I waited to place my order he seemed bother to have to stop talking to the people at the bar but none the less took my order even though we made ZERO eye contact. When the wings arrived the waiter said "ok who gets MEDIUM and who gets MILD" We ordered SPICEY and MILD. I said I have the Mild and my daughter the spicey OR MEDIUM. He gave me the Spicey and I almost died choking on the spicey wings that I don't eat. When my daughter rushed to the bar to get a glass of water, She was continuously ignored as she requested a glass of water. When she finally gets the bartenders attention he pours the water but doesn't give it to her because he was having a conversation with a patron. I got up and signaled to my daughter and she said EXCUSE ME CAN I PLEASE GET THE WATER AND HE LOOKED AT HER THAT IF LOOKS COULD KILL SHE'D BE DEAD. Came here for a Paint Nite last Friday as part of my birthday celebrations. The teacher Myla was amazing and so helpful (I know she isn't employed by The Avenue but just wanted to mention in case someone is doing a PaintNite event here). My party of 3 arrived a little early we were immediately greeted by the bartenders which is always nice. We each ordered a glass of wine. And were given prompt attention. We were hungry so we asked the hostess for a menu. She informed us we would be cutting it close if we sat down to eat before the event began but did let us know a waitress would be working the PaintNite Event. I wish I could remember the name of the waitress because she was great and very attentive. These events can get crowded and she worked the room well. Enough about the place let's discuss food. My two friends and I ordered the following: Chicken Quesadillas, Boneless Buffalo Wings, Mozzarella Sticks and, Macaroni and Cheese. The Quesadillas were great enough cheese and chicken with just the perfectly crisped tortillas and the real surprise - BACON inside ! Boneless Buffalo wings are large in size. They are more so chicken tenders. 4 come in an order and they have a great array of sauces to use. We chose a honey BBQ sauce that I could not get enough of. The mozzarella sticks were good. Typical bar food with marinara sauce for dipping. Wouldn't complain but wouldn't be my first choice again. The mozzarella sticks were subbed in for our original choice of broccoli cheddar bites which unfortunately they had ran out of. Last but definitely not least was the star of the show - the Mac and Cheese. The pasta was perfectly cooked penne. The sauce was a blend of 3 cheeses. It was topped with, you guessed it, bacon. It was creamy and delicious. We raved about it all night. I would definitely go back to The Avenue to eat or for another painting event. It is not extremely close to my house so it wouldn't be my bar of choice but if you are in the area you should go check this place out. read more

This place sucks. I went on Wednesday (11/20/19) for their 25 cent wings and 14/20 wings were cold as the rockies. While I love my beer as cold as the rockies, I prefer my chicken wings to be cooked to a precise 125 degrees Fahrenheit, like every other red blooded American. Speaking of beer, we ordered two Bud Light pitchers that came out looking like ginger ale and tasting like piss. I ordered hot wings and have to say McDonald's new "Hot and Spicy McChicken" (Which I highly recommend) was 20x more spicy than the "Hot" wings at the Avenue. We were also only given a single wet nap to clean all 6 of our hands. The three inch wipey did not clean all the cold wing sauce off of all of our fingers. All in all, I would rather spend another 10-15$ at another place and get properly cooked chicken, fresh cold beers, and a smile from the server. read more

Great local neighborhood bar/ restaurant; the atmosphere of the nightlife is pleasing, and I'm happy to say they offer a nice variety of seafood for a pescetarian like me (definitely some points in my book). Avenue is on the smaller side, but it's comfortable, which by the way counts for everything!! When it first opened about two and a half years or so ago I honestly didn't think it was going to last, but I'm glad to say that was just a thought and not reality. This review is months old, but I needed to post it because of the incredible service from one of the owners. American restaurant by day and Lithuanian spot...once a month. I'll take it. I have a food club-GlobalTable_NY (find us on Instagram!) and our goal is to eat thru the alphabet by exploring cuisines from all around the world. You would think that in a city like New York, ALL options would be available. But it's not the truth. This Lithuanian spot is the only one offering Lithuanian food in the tri-state area. I told one the owners that we were there solely to experience the Lithuanian culture through food and he personally served us. He told us why Lithuanian food is so hardy (Lithuania gets pretty cold) and shared with us the process of making these delicious plates. He went out of his way to give us the full gambit of Lithuanian delicacies (even dishes not on the menu). He even served us a Lithuanian honey liquor! The food was super delicious. It is perfect comfort food for cold weather. Think potatoes, sour cream, and bacon. The bacon were generous, thick slices. Many enjoyed the creamy beet soup--the fresh accents of dill made it delectable. The space is homey. Highly would recommend exploring this cuisine thru this place. read more

Went today to check it out. Been meaning to come for a while since it opened. I had my 1 year old and saw a poster that said kids eat free with a entre. So to me that said kids are welcome. I was the only one in the restaurant which I don't mind. Only thing is....I don't suggest this place for families with kids. The bar is right there and the people that are enjoying it curse. I can enjoy being in a bar but just don't think it's good for kids to be in the restaurant. Maybe if there was a door. So the food part, ordered the special (what can go wrong) asked for it well done it was a herb crusted rib eye I beleive. It came pink and NO herbs or seasonings at all, my appetizer came with the meal at the same time. I didn't touch it. Waiter comped the app, apologized and was super sweet! I can understand one point I saw repeated a couple of times: this is not a stand alone restaurant where four or 5 five stars indicates an upscale dining experience. It's a pub with a bar upfront and two small dining rooms,one in the rear and one downstairs. That said, I gave it four stars because it's an easy, casual atmosphere, we found the food to be very good and the prices very reasonable. Check out both the regular menu and the bar menu because there are some differences. The two menus offer a good selection of casual bar food and true dinner entrees. We're fans of the quesadillas, the dumplings, the wings and the burgers, but we've never been disappointed with anything we had here. I was especially surprised at the reviews that indicated they suspected the food was reheated and not fresh. We did not feel that way at all. read more

I ordered an early dinner for my son and I. We ordered burgers. First we got a call that the cook was coming in late an they could not meet the Yelp delivery time. Then they were 30 minutes later than they told us we would receive the order. The burgers were over cooked, and had the taste of old grease...as if the grill was dirty when they made the burgers. Went last night on New Year's Day the bar was cute but we used the back dinning room to eat dinner after trying to eat at a chain restaurant which was over crowded and had a two hour wait. So we ended up here. The food was great and the service was even better. I wanted to try the liquid sunshine but never got around to it but I will definitely be back to try it out. Been meaning to post this for a while but been busy...Had my mother's 90th Birthday Brunch there a few weeks ago. Sixteen of us and a few friends of my mom's came by from church. The food was bland . The service was good, but not worth going back to. The dinning room is outdated. Update june 2016: I tried the Avenue again in the hopes it would be better, we came in for lunch. Sadly it was as before. We got burgers , the meat texture was off. The female at the bar was fantastic. We were sat down by a yound man , who then sat at the end of the bar doing nothing as she ran back and forth to us and dealt with customers at the bar. As for the back room it's still outdated and dark. A real shame as I live near by and would love other food options. read more
