I reached to the Avery for my refund, which I was told after I did take the apartment due to extra cost. That my refund for holding the apartment could take up to 3 weeks. Its been 3 weeks, I called and was told it takes 3 to 5 business days for the money to go back to my card. Then was told I should have gotten an email. No call back, no email. This is ridiculous. Staff should be able be more helpful. Now I have to call again or just go up there. They took my money faster than I am getting it back. read more

The Avery is an amazing place to live! I'm so surprised that they don't have more stars. I just renewed my lease for the 4th time. No complex is going to be perfect but the central location of the Avery is awesome. You're close to major highways, can walk to a target, and are just a couple miles from White Rock Lake. The buildings aren't all brand new but the units don't feel outdated at all. Mine was move-in ready and felt new. The office staff is great, especially Jamie and Aixsia. Let's face it...they're in a role where they often have to serve as the messenger. They're always responsive and patient with me if I feel frustrated. For example, the ellipticals in the gym get a little off balance from time to time due to frequent use. The Avery staff is always quick to remedy that when I reach out. I love the amenities like the gym and the pool. They Avery switched their security company a little while ago and I think they've done a good job being more present. Dallas is a big city, so there is going to be crime. I'd rather have a gated complex that works most of the time then not have that security measure in place. Since I don't live on the first floor, the trash concierge is amazing. They never miss a night! I do think that there's a little room for growth when it comes to managing pet noise. They are great about letting tenants know when there is excessive barking but it can be a challenge to pinpoint exactly which unit it is sometimes. I'm just glad that they at least acknowledge the concerns. I would highly recommend becoming part of the Avery community! read more

I tried on multiple occasions to reach out to Amanda as she instructed in her response to discuss, and she has still not called me back. I am not sure why she would ask to talk and then ignore me like this other than to save face. Other than that, Greystar did nothing better than the prior company to help with the trash and outside guest problems. Be prepared to have no security. Amazing place to live in with beautiful pools, a clean gym ,lovely neighbors. The staff are amazing.

This apartment complex is concerned with their image than the safety of the residents here. my boyfriend car got stolen on this property in November of 2023 and over 14 cars the next day got broken into! Their cameras on property "don't work" and they had this safety patrol guys for a couple weeks. Fast forward to Jan 14th, 2024 I park my car in this back area because theres not enough parking spots for actual resident and when I get out the car there is glass on the pavement because someone's car window got broken into prior!! We pay TOO MUCH MONEY to be dealing with this!! The office staff are so VAGUE when things happen you have no idea what's really going on here. We have homeless people sleeping infront of peoples doors and there's nothing being done. No one in the neighborhood knew until we went to a Police Talk meeting. The office staff keeps things so hidden and that's my biggest issue. They care more about how they look and upholding their image our CARS and safety get neglected. They do all these events but can't properly notify us of what's really going on without being so vague! DONT MOVE HERE!!! Crime is still happening !!! read more

The emergency maintenance person was always there to fix whatever issues their were & was a good dude. Never had any issues with neighbors being loud. We lived here for 1 year and we never had any type of issues. Maintenance was quick to respond to our service requests and any help we needed from the office they always were quick to help us. And thanks to Jacob and Stephanie for helping us out they are great on trying their best every time help out all the time. I recommend them! read more

Amanda has zero customer service skills. She is incredibly rude, unhelpful and simply should not work with people. She was disrespectful to a girl that was going to sign a lease with me, but due to Amanda's behavior she felt uncomfortable living there and pulled out of the lease last minute. She paid all the fees, was approved and went through the entire process. She ended up not signing the lease due to her interaction with Amanda alone. read more

First of all, 5 stars can not completely justify how amazing and magnificent the staff is here at the Avery on Southwestern. As soon as I stepped foot in the leasing office the staff Jacob and Amanda greeted and welcomed me along with huge beautiful smiles. On move-in day, yesterday there was an issue that Jacob and Amanda handled with ease like they had handled it a million times already. Staff provided a surprisingly easy, simple, and painless move-in while assisting in any possible way. Jacob and Amanda are simply all-stars, there isn't anything they can not handle. If I can give my experience a zero star rating I would. As soon as I walk into the leasing office I did not get greedy I had to walk to one of the leasing agent named AMANDA she was rude I kept asking her questions about a unit that I was interested in she was being rude. I even inquired on view A2 unit she refused to tour with multiple excuses such as pricing availability etc. as she was going over the information with me one of the residents walked in she completely stopped assisting me to help a resident. The conversation lasted a good five minutes before she gave me more info about the availability units. The greeting tone that she assisted the resident with is the same way I would've thought to have been greeted with even has a tourist to the complex. As a leasing agent you should be more than willing to help others verses making your tourist/visitors feel unwanted over your resident. It was such a horrific experience especially seeing what type of leasing agents you have representing your property! Unfortunately this experience has veered me completely away from this property as it was in my top 5 apartments, because of the service I was giving upon walking in.. hopefully something is done about this and it changes. read more

Tbh I totally miss this place. The staff was always attentive and I love the events and consideration to do neat stuff like giveaways for the residents. It was rare that we ever had any problems there and of course whenever there was an issue, it was quickly resolved. Layout of the apartment was great. Super open floorplan which always made the place feel bigger than it actually was. I could probably go on but I'll leave it at this, if I hadn't needed to move closer to my job, I would have never left. read more

The Avery is such a beautiful property especially considering the cost! It is so conveniently located with Medallion Center in walking distance. On top of that the management adds so much more to the feeling of community. Especially leasing agent Taylor. You can tell she genuinely cares about the residents. She went out of her way to make sure I am happy with my entire experience there. You don't see that often from community staff! Overpriced, office staff unfriendly, and their answer is always no, end of discussion.

Previously I had found the Avery staff pretty easy to deal with. But this morning I came out to find an unauthorized vehicle parked in front of my garage. That shouldn't be a big hassle to deal with, except the office doesn't open until 10, the emergency maintenance people had no idea how to handle the situation, and the one tow sign located outside of the complex did not have the phone number for the tow company. I had to cancel all of my morning meetings to account for the fact that the office was unreachable until 10. After sending several emails, I did finally receive a response back from the complex containing only the name of the tow company and no contact information, no apology, no attempts to account for their failure to address the situation properly or provide residents with an adequate solution to the problem. This is on top of the construction that has been going on for five months (with no end in sight). Included in the list of damage from construction was the roof of the building next door being caught on fire, and a nail through one of my tires. Moral of the story, if you plan to get up and do simple things, like go to work, in the morning I'd probably find a different complex. Updated to include the response from the Manager of the property: " I didn't have to reply from my personal time, but I was trying to help. Once I get to the office, I will try and help as much as I can. Sorry, but we aren't obligated to respond until the office is open. Lesson learned. I will not respond to messages and try to help outside of office hours." read more

We have been residents for over a year. Just renewed our lease. Very happy with the Avery on southwestern. Staff is helpful and seems to be quick to handle any issues that need attention. Maintenance department is great as well. Very hard to find anything bad to say. My one issue is the new fetch delivery service. Do a quick search on fetch and you will find nothing but absolutely awful reviews. It is shocking they are still in business. They cannot handle time sensitive packages, you are completely at their mercy of when your package will arrive. If you have any issue and need help fetch makes it nearly impossible to get in touch with anyone in customer service. They are also not liable for any lost or stolen packages. Very hard to see the benefit of this. I think if you asked residents many would also prefer the lockers that used to be in each building. Other than fetch, everything is great. I would not recommend and will not renew my lease with this apartment community. The gate doesn't ever work, your packages will be lost, cars are burglarized, the noise from construction is never ending, you will be nickel and dimed to death. The property management team doesn't abide by anything that they say they will do but want to charge the tenant fees for everything little thing. Beware. Only good thing is proximity to highway, mall, and downtown. Not worth it. Moving out as soon as possible. read more

Entire process during my stay was a test in patience. After signing the lease, management, after assuring me they would have a the means to do so, accepted money from me to add a garage to my unit's lease. 3 days prior to my move in, I called to verify as I was moving from over 3 hours away, that everything would be set. They tried to tell me my garage was in a building across the property from where my apartment was. I had to fight to get that corrected. Upon move in, I found dirty carpets and refrigerator shelving that was stained. They did nothing to fix this. I went out to the store on my first day of residency, still having the apartment filled with boxes, and they entered my unit without my knowledge and removed the washing and drying machines which I paid for in my lease agreement to have. I would go an entire week without having machines due to "clerical error". Unable to wash clothing, sheets, towels, or anything during unpacking from my move in. The Valet Trash service is a joke, they changed to a "cheaper service" but kept the same cost on the tenants. This new company would also come only 5 days instead of the previous 7, excluding weekends. This led to trash flooding the breezeways and causeways of the buildings, leading to smell and bugs. When they did arrive, they would arrive after 11pm, and proceed to slam trash into the dumpsters upwards of 1-2am. Causing untold noise and disturbances. The building are constantly "under construction" which means amenities such as ACCESS TO THE MAILROOM were constantly being interrupted without notice. And the construction crews were seen drinking and playing loud music at their trucks on premises well past 9pm. Treating the parking lot like their happy hour. Lots of car break ins, and the gates were constantly down or broken. So if you want to have tires and windows damaged, this is the place for you. Walls are so thin you can hear neighbors talking or sneezing, and slamming of the doors in the breezeway would cause the apt to shake and rattle the contents of the cabinet. Dog poop was everywhere, as there is not a dedicated dog park, or any enforcement of the "clean up" rules. Regular domestic disputes, and visits from the police, including the forceful entry of an apartment. The smell of drugs is everywhere in the complex, and have found hypodermic needles in the parking lot and breezeways / common areas. The package locker is a complete disaster. Overflowing with packages, no rules and regulations enforced by delivery services. Packages constantly go missing. The posting board for residents doesn't go a day without multiple people asking about their packages being taken or delivered incorrectly or just plan missing when their tracking info shows it was delivered. There is a complete, and utter lack of service or professionalism from the front office. Manager at one point said, and I quote, "I really don't know how any of that works. You'd have to talk to my assistant." This was in regards to their online payment portal or access to your account. At which point, the Assistant also was unable to provide any information, and said "its a corporate thing" when it comes to being able to pay them for rent." Entirely, this was by far the worst apartment complex I have lived in, and am happy to have moved out and into a much more professional, and well kept property. read more
