Amazing place to live! Would always recommend living here and the property manager, Aly, is always so helpful

Avoid like the plague! BUGS, CRACKHEADS, BROKEN GATES & KEYPADS. After notifying management of recurring issues, they either claim they have no awareness of the issue, claim the issue does not exist even after receiving multiple photos/videos, or just ignore residents completely. Aly and Akira are the definition of unprofessional. I've always paid my bills on time and in full, never had another resident complain about me, never caused issues. Aly and Akira STOLE my car today from the resident garage by having it illegally towed this afternoon. There are reserved spaces but I've lived here two years and obviously know where to park. This level of pettiness and unnecessary retaliation for simply asking property staff to do their jobs and maintain the property is unheard of. Rather than do their actual jobs, they took time from their work day to try to make my life harder. DO NOT MOVE HERE. The gates and keypads work on a whim. Hopefully they work when crackheads attempt to follow you into the building. We're right off 75 and theres a nearby Chevron and McDonald's where they all hangout and then walk to our pool and sleep there because again management doesn't care about gates or property security. So I've come out at night or early in the morning to walk my dog and see them in/around the property. They used to mop the floors every day two years ago when I moved in. Now I rarely see the housekeeping staff around the property. Recently I have seen 5 bugs in my VERY clean apartment. It is not bug season... They've recently altered my access to hot water. So when I first moved in, I could do a shower/full shave in ~25 mins. Now I get tops 15 mins before it goes icy. Any time I try to use the bathtub, even though I keep it very clean, I cannot take a bath because the drain stopper does not work. It allows whatever disgusting grime is in the pipes to float up and into the bath water. Appliances constantly break and/or work poorly. I've had to have my fridge and dishwasher replaced and only lived here two years. There was a freeze a few weeks ago and my neighbor had a pipe burst. At first they thought it was my unit but of course later confirmed it was not. Again because I never do anything wrong. However, a few days ago my bedroom carpet became damp and it turns out there is a leak in the stairwell also ruining the carpet in my bedroom. They just shut off water for the entire building on Friday supposedly to do "maintenance" - well then why is it Tuesday and we now have fans that have to sit in my room for the next two days. Apartment staff likely knew of this issue and chose to do nothing until I submitted a maintenance ticket. Now that they're aware of the issue, they're refusing to cover any damages to my property - this includes my bed frame which is cloth lined and absorbed water from the carpet. They want my renters insurance to cover that. SO LAZY AND DISRESPECTFUL. Why would my insurance cover anything when the damage was done because the building is poorly maintained? I found a new place in the oak lawn area and can't wait to move out this month! read more

They do not adhere to the lease agreement. They keep adding additional charges. Then our rental agent is all of a sudden promoted to corporate all of our lease terms are changed. No one answers the email we were directed to send. And no one returns our phone call!!! read more

I can't wait until my lease expires, this complex is awful. I was charged a $250 late fee that shouldn't have been on my account and when I brought this to management (Aly) she said she agreed, it wasn't my fault but she couldn't do anything about it. She didn't return my call as promised. THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY AND IGNORE YOU. The front desk said they would like to take the fee away because it was wrong but it would "look bad to do it this late in the month." Horrible business practice. DO NOT RECOMMEND. PROS: Walking distance to a lot of great restaurants. My unit has great natural light. CONS: I have had thousands of dollars of packages stolen from the mail room. Management has done nothing to increase security. My car always smells like pee because homeless people pee in the garage on your tires. When charged an incorrect fee, management will smile and say too bad. Too close to the expressway where it's loud and cars turn onto Elizabeth street extremely fast. A car recently drove straight into the building. Homeless people lurk in this area, go through the dumpsters out front daily and will sit on the resident stairwells hoping to get inside. The wifi doesn't work in the business center. Outdoor keypads rarely work to get inside. This general area is great, but I would recommend going a bit further north in the Knox area. I've heard great things about Darby Knox District and Vidorra. read more

Used to love living here but everything went downhill once management changed to Tipton. Before everyone would respond to inquiries instantly and there was a desire to create a community where people could come together, now it is clear that profit is the concern over people. Messages go ignored for days or never answered at all, "new" floor is already coming up after only a few months of renovation. Hopefully it gets bought out again by a new group soon, if not - unsure how the current staff can keep this property afloat and it's residents content. read more

Had a television stolen after delivery when I first moved. The lady didn't care (this is before the train wreck that was Samantha who they recently fired). Elevators rarely worked for a loooooong time!!! Office staff is somewhat on their game. I have seen it from before and the current managers. These are ok but can be a little snarky. Not sure the apartment was worth what I paid for it. Glad to be out of there and wouldn't live there again. read more

As a precursor to this review, I stayed in quite possibly the worst apartment complex (Highland Park West Lemmon now Atlantic Highland Park) before this place. It was moldy, loud, dirty, had horrible management, and yet was still relatively expensive. A sleeping bag on the side of the road would have been a better sleeping arrangement. I'm only a month in but I can see that this place meets everything that you'd want in an apartment. It's clean, smells good, has quiet neighbors, and everyone is super friendly. Gym is clean and pretty decent for an apartment gym. Jackie is a super hard worker at the front desk and updates the residents constantly with helpful information. To top it off, I think the price is pretty good for the quality your getting. We toured some pretty pretentious places around Knox street that were unnecessarily overpriced; The pompous residents reflected the price. The culture at Uptown at Cole Park is young, well mannered, working class individuals. Overall, I recommend this apartment. read more

A great place to live! We just moved in and love it so far. The only difficulty we have had is with getting packages delivered & the freight elevator is small so you'll need a smaller sofa or sectional. Besides the regular apartment struggles, this apartment is in a great location for its price located right in between West Village and Knox Henderson. Nothing feels too far away either and you can stay out of most of the traffic. The people, cleanliness, and amenities are all outstanding! So happy to live here read more

We loved living here, even signed a second lease into a larger unit, but everything went downhill when the Tipton Group took over, especially the property manager and district management. They started doing "major renovations" (ended up just being a mural and exterior painting) that took out our balcony for 3 months with scaffolding and men looking into all 18 of our windows, and never gave any residents notice or updates on process. They also installed an outdoor light to highlight the mural that illuminated our entire apartment at night, and it took 62 days for them to come up with a temporary "solution", but they refuse to move to light (ask to see unit at night before signing anything, please). Even knowing these issues and not changing anything, they are now leasing the until for $3,300 (an almost 20% increase for a lesser unit). Between 3 issues we had, it took an average of 54 days for any "solutions", and during the time they were very disrespectful, didn't show up to 3 meetings we had confirmed with them, and ignored over half of of our emails. We have also been disregarded when asking to speak to any one from upper management. They have been renovating the property, but are doing it in the cheapest way possibly where within 3 months, the caulking on the floor is already coming up and the hallway floors are uneven and peeling, which is dating the building by years. Elevators break every few weeks for months at a time that they blame on supply chain issues, although no other building is seeming to have issues, they just don't want to spend the money for permanent solutions. An elderly friend who lived down the hall had to bring her groceries up the stairs when both were down, fell, needed medical help, and the office disregarded her and the accessibility issue. When we continued to hold them accountable for these issues, instead of taking action, they released us from our contract. There have been numerous tenants who have left just this month do to the disrespect they have received, but they don't mind cancelling out leases because they are renting out 31 units on Airbnb. It is very clear that the management at UCP and the Tipton Group care more about profits than people, and have ruined this property, which so many had previously adored. Please take a look at more recent reviews and not just people who have toured and you will see we are not the only ones left feeling this way. I wouldn't recommend this property by any means, as Dallas is filled with so many places, this is not worth the headache, stress, and feeling disrespected in your own home. read more

First of all, I'm not using the first names of these guys because it's a fake review. I'm using their first names because Ryan and Jazmine literally went above and beyond to make Uptown@Cole park a place I would be happy to call home, and I could not forget the names of people who worked so hard to make sure I was satisfied. When I first looked at the units I was very torn because I have a child and a very specific set of needs because of that. They showed us multiple apartments, sometimes even the same units multiple times and showed absolutely zero sign of displeasure to do so. I could have asked to see the unit on the 5th floor one last time and Ryan would gladly drop whatever he was doing to bring me up there. I had a million questions and they answered every single one of them with kindness and reasurrance. I have had some extremely unpleasant apartment experiences in the past so I was nervous signing a 12 month lease. Not only did they give me an amazing unit that I loved they gave me an awesome deal and discount special on that place as well. Now here's the kicker..... Shortly after I moved in, I found that being on the floor I chose was going to be an issue for my son and I. Not because of anything wrong or unsafe with the unit, but just because the floor plan didn't fit our needs the way we needed it to. Without hesitation Jazmine and Ryan found a way to fix my situation and get me into a unit that worked for us. I have never had apartment staff alter how they operate and go out of their way to fit my needs like that. Living in an apartment can be a huge adjustment, but for the first time ever, they were the ones adjusting to me, not the other way around. I cannot thank them enough, and I am so happy to be living here. It's a great area, we are close to everything, and my kid is in love with the park across the street. NEW MANAGEMENT makes this place a solid DO NOT LIVE HERE!!! We fell in love with this community when we first moved in when managed by Mill Creek. Now it is managed by Tipton Group and the rapid decline is blatantly obvious. If you didn't get a chance to visit the frat house the morning after in college, then YOU have to live here!!! Other Reviewers have said: "The new Management team is incompetent and rude. They do not respond to emails on time, often aren't available even during office hours, and are completely disorganized. The best part was charging me for keys that they lost during the checkout process." "DO NOT LIVE HERE. Their management is sketchy, they do not keep up with the property, maintenance repairs take forever. The pool is disgusting, the walls are paper thin - you can hear everything your neighbor is saying in the halls, dog area is nasty and tiny, and the construction of the overall apartment is CHEAP and falling apart. DO NOT MOVE HERE. I do not know where to even begin so I will start with the good things. PROS: the location (the convenience off the freeway is amazing and parking is never a problem) CONS: it is brand new and everything is so cheaply built, it is literally already falling apart. The management is terrible, I would wait MONTHS for a maintenance request to be completed. I felt like their manager (Ryan) was more like an RA for a college dorm- he is friendly with everyone but not professional at all. At one point they told me they were on backorder for air filters (wth?) and I had a slight crack in my oven stove top- when I put in an order to get it fixed it was about the size of a hairline... because I was moving out in 5 months they decided to wait until I moved out and the crack had grown to fix it. Rude they couldn't even do that right away since they were going to for sure charge me for it! They did offer me a deal to get rid of all my charges if I renewed my lease there but it was NOT worth it. The walls are paper thin, you can hear everything going on in every room. The hallways reek of weed always besides the weird smell in the overall complex. Whenever new management (the Tipton group) took over they got rid of our 24/7 on call for emergencies and the on-site security guard AND THE CAMERAS. There are no security cameras in parking garage at all so if anything happens to your car or your missing car parts because someone hit you then there is nothing to prove so ( they removed the 1 cam going into garage when new management took over). One time I lost my keys and locked myself out and had to go in through one of the broken doors and wait in lobby to get a key, I had left a voicemail on their "emergency request" and nobody could let me in until later than they opened because nobody cared to be at work on time. Soon after they put on their voicemail that if your locked out you need to call a locksmith (excuse me that is NOT how apartments work, especially in Uptown) The trash room always was overflowing, the packages was a whole other level of a mess. They used to go into individual lockers 24/7 NOW they go in one giant locker where people could just take whatever package they wanted without being caught or checked. That is NOT ok to have to dig for your package in one giant locker. The "dog park" is disgusting and unkept. When I moved here I did a double deposit- $600. I knew I would be charged for the stove I never got fixed and minor things. More than 2 months after I moved out I asked management where my deposit was and they send me a bill for $900 saying I owed $300 more for all new carpet and wall painting and nonsense that I definitely didn't need. I will provide videos of how clean I left apartment. They are very crooked here and I am just saving the next person from going through a nightmare. 75% of the time only one elevator works and I feel terrible for the people who live near the "freight" elevator which is basically just the back elevator that isn't any larger, just sometimes has padding up - it literally beeps all the time (no joke a constant "boooooooooooooooop" noise at all times for months!) I I would have literally moved out immediately if I was anywhere near that thing. The pool is disgust and not well kept- always green, it's SO SMALL how hard could that really be to keep it up? There are so many other better apartments for the same price that are better built and management is the most important thing. I've lived here for about 3 months and could not be happier! The units are spacious, well designed, and have great upgrades. Everything from the gym to the trash room is very clean and well maintained --a rarity in the area in my experience. Other residents are very friendly and considerate. The maintenance and property managers both live in the building and go out of their way to help you. I recently had an issue with my keys and was very impressed by how above and beyond the team went to help me in a situation that was 100% my fault. When I had an issue with an appliance when I first moved in, they simply swapped it out instead of making me wait for the new part to arrive. The location is great too. I've lived in many apartments and this has by far been the best experience! read more

I lived here for a little over two years. I would've stayed but wanted to relocate to a diff area. This is one of the better complexes in the area. Prime location. Ryan does a great job managing. The only reason why I gave it 4 instead of 5 is because people don't always clean up their pets mess but the complex always tries to keep it up kept. read more

I can start and say that i found that complex using a realtor, while being off board, so moving in was quite a surprise for me, and for the best, starting from everything done online, and continuing with the actual amazing people on site, the property manager - Ryan, and the leasing manager - Jasmine, were the two that made it so comfortable and easy in, and right now about 3 month later I can for sure say - that was the best choice for me! The Halls are super clean all the time, the trash is being picked up every night straight from your door, the maintenance guys are so quick and efficient, the property is located near everything you need - Grocery shopping, the mall, the theater, the park, and ton of night and day activities! read more

Pros: Cheap rent, great "move in" specials, newer building, great location, close to downtown, good floor plan options, close to Cole Park and Katy Trail, dog friendly, management is very friendly but also laissez faire (reactive not proactive). Never had an issue finding a parking spot. I really like the interior finishes. Nice amenities. There are lots of fancy cars in the garage, but not so fancy tenants. Confusing, I know. Cons: Definitely the worst place in Uptown I've lived. When I moved in my carpets were not clean, there was damage to the walls, and men's beard hair in the sink (eww). My carpet was damaged and I'm sure they'll charge me for it when I move out since they didn't give me a move-in checklist. Definitely not clean. You can hear your neighbors talking, and the hallways smell like weed. I have had packages stolen and receive other people's packages monthly. I don't even know how that keeps happening. I am scared and paranoid because I don't know when the next break in will be. I have to look behind my shoulder/out my peek hole when coming in or exiting because I don't want anyone to know when I'm gone. I'm scared to sleep at night alone since something bad happened here. I'm contemplating breaking my lease and paying the thousands of dollars just to get some peace. I really could live with all the other issues, but the safety issue is my biggest concern and the reason I lose sleep. read more

I love living at this apartment community. The staff are incredible, professional, kind and very compassionate. The property is kept clean and they have such a wonderful customer service attitude towards residence and prospective residence. The price point is competitive for the location which is great! Jasmine's smile and warm manner greets me each day before I go for my morning walk. Double high five to Ryan, the property manager for truly caring about his residence. If there is an issue that needs resolving he is always there to help. I may never move out :) read more

I have lived at Uptown @ Cole Park for two years and have thoroughly enjoyed the property and staff. We were the first to live in our unit and have had very few concerns. Like any dwelling things break or need adjustment - and Uptown's staff always immediately reaches out to assist and ensure it works on our schedule. Even when our alarm system had a faulty chime and went off at 1:00 AM - Javier came immediately to assist. Jazmine and Ryan are friendly and always willing to stop what they are to doing to assist when I have a question or need assistance. As other reviews mention, living in a large building/community means that there are, on occasion, some bad apples - the same issues including someone backing into your car (it's a garage after all) or packages going missing have happened at every single other building I have ever lived. But, here, when a complaint or concern arises there is always follow-up and action to make sure that the problems cease. We will be sad to leave the building! read more
