I usually shop elsewhere because the prices here are much higher than my usual online and local store but they had 2018 Bowman Platinum fat packs in stock and I wanted to hunt some Shohei rookies. However, this was my last time shopping at The Awesome Card Shop. I bought 6 packs of 2018 Bowman Platinum fat packs totalling over $450. When I went to pick up the packs, I asked the cashier if they could throw in a box of top loaders and she said "Sorry, I can't do that." Shocked at her answer I replied "Really?! Even after spending $450+ on product? You guys usually do." She replied with the same response. I left the store feeling annoyed and unappreciated. You think a local card shop would have better business sense when it comes to customer retention. I guess it's just Legacy Card Shop from now on. read more

Went into their shop just to get a feel for how they buy cards from people and as I was in their shop I heard the clerk say to a customer how much the Ken Griffey Jr. had skyrocketed in price in the recent days. I did some research and the raw card sold in the last few days between 85-110. Came back 2 nights later after getting those prices minutes before returning to ask how much they would offer for that same EXACT card and a few others worth between 5-20 each, and for a total of 7 cards including a Ken Griffey Jr., Randy Johnson, and Gary Sheffield card I was offered $40 cash or $45 store credit. Because they assumed I was uneducated, the clerk had asked me if I had a price in mind but I played dumb, they tried to exploit my ignorance. SHAME ON THIS GARBAGE GREEDY CESSPOOL! We were looking for some one piece cards, so we called the awesome card shop and said they had packs, singles, and boxes available. When we arrived, they weren't joking, they had so many boxes and packs available. The prices are on the higher end and the taxes are crazy as well. We ended up purchasing a bunch of packs and 1 box of OP13. We open all our packs unfortunately nothing good, as far as my op13 box, I haven't open yet it so hopefully something good. I would come back to awesome card shop since they have so many boxes of One Piece as well as a bunch of basketball boxes and packs. read more

I haven't been to a comic or card shop since the early 1990s. I was looking for a specific hobby box that upper decks do not sell on their own website. Instead, they listed 11 authorized online retailers that I could choose from. I narrowed down 4 retailers from the 11 and to my coincidence, I happen to be visiting Las Vegas this weekend. I gave this shop a visit and was glad I did, I had previously called the day before to make sure this shop existed and the lady (sorry forgot the name) that I talked to was very helpful. She located the hobby boxes I wanted and I came in to purchase them the following day. The staff was great, from the phone service to in-person. Adam who also helped me when I came in pretty much answered all the newbie questions I had, I ended up buying a few more things that what I really came for but was impressed with the store itself. We arrived to the area early for a dinner reservation, so instead of waiting in the car, like I wanted, my card gobbler husband asked if we could go inside of this card shop. The door is locked and you just have to push the buzzer to be let in. Not a big deal at all, just wanted to mention it in case you're like my husband and do not read anything, try to open door and walk away instead of buzzing. LOL! Coming in, the place is immaculate, so clean and organized. Usually when he brings me to shops like this, it's an overstimulating nightmare. This place is the opposite of this, with everything lined up in a very eye pleasing way. They have so many kinds of cards in here. My husbands main focus is Magic the Gathering but he does like to look at other cards and there are a lot to choose from in here. Pokémon cards? They got them. All the sports cards? Yep. Garbage pail kids? TAKE MY MONEY! None of the pricing seemed too exorbitant, so we liked that too. The person working the counter when we went in was the nicest too. She made sure we were being helped but she was also not pushy or annoying. Sometimes I just want to wander a store and she let us, no issues. Came here with my husband cause I was looking for a deal. And I definitely got one! I believe pricing was very fair. Infact way more fair than other locations. I must admit, when I read the review about pricing was ridiculous , I needed to check it out for myself and im glad I did, cause that was a lie. No where are you going to find MSRP on TCG. What makes this place stand is how friendly everyone was in the store. They even have a game where you pay and pull a ticket and win something in the glass shelves! It was fun and different! I've been here a few times now to sell, and they've been consistent every time. Unlike a lot of card shops that pick and choose, they're willing to look at pretty much everything. Their offers are fair too -- usually right around recent average sales -- so you don't feel lowballed. On the buying side, they've got great prices and I've had some solid pulls here too. Good selection, easy process, and overall just a great shop to deal with. Definitely one of my go-to spots. read more

Everything's really overpriced but I was happy to come by once in a while for some harder to find items. Called and asked if they'd look at some of my ungraded cards, to which they said yes. My first time in this shop since they used to be Legacy Sports Cards. They are advertised as participating in the Topps UFC buyback program. I drove 35 minutes from Henderson after calling and being told they were part of the program. When I arrived and they saw I had almost $1000 buybacks they said they weren't interested. Worst shop in town and I'll never step foot in here again. The lady that helped me was friendly but those who "run" the shop are useless. Go to Legacy or Paradise. Stay away from here. read more

Dropped in with my little kids one sunny Saturday afternoon. They are both into Pokemon the way I was into MtG back in my day. This place has their cards organized into neat collector bundles, and already have top loaders for single cards all the way from $2 to $200, and probably higher. My fav comic stores have all their issues pre-bagged, which shows a certain respect for the product - this shop is the same with their cards: even the individual dollar cards are sleeved and organized. The kids enjoyed going through the selection and picking out some good ones for trading later. Great memories are made in places like this - I still remember the energy at the card shops from the nineties during the Magic boom. The Vegas community has to do what we can to maintain and support these kinds of local shops. It makes the city better! read more

I had high hopes for Awesome Card Shop, but my experience was anything but awesome. The manager was incredibly rude and acted like he was doing me a favor just by talking to me. I brought in some cards to sell, and they offered me ridiculously lowball prices--literally half of what other shops were paying. Then I looked around to buy, and their prices were way over market value. Cards that should be $50 were marked at $80+! When I politely asked about the pricing, the manager got defensive and dismissive. The whole shop has an unwelcoming vibe, and it's clear they prioritize squeezing every dollar out of customers rather than building a good reputation. If you're looking to buy or sell cards, save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else. Plenty of better shops around that actually treat collectors with respect! read more

So I messaged the store about selling some Pokemon cards. They excitedly said yes!, bring them in. I drove almost 40 minutes to get there, only to be told to come back the next day because the worker was afraid his boss would be mad for him paying out so much money. I then go back the next day and explain what the guy had told me. The worker sighed and said something along the lines of "you heard wrong, he said Monday". I said he was very clear about coming back the next day (Sunday). He then said he would look at the cards. He comes back with a quote of $71 cash for over $800 worth of cards. Complete waste of time. On Sunday afternoon, myself and my best friend Kris visited the shop. Our sole mission was cruising through the largest amount of Pokémon singles in the Vegas Valley, and we weren't disappointed. We were greeted by Vincent, who was wholeheartedly welcoming. Throughout our search, Vince would converse about random Pokémon topics and various other things. He was also no short of helpful. He fed us more boxes of singles organized neatly behind the glass display cases, and didn't hesitate to provide us with the singles requested out of the cases. This was my third or fourth time visiting and everytime the staff was always polite, respectful, knowledgeable, and accommodating. Great shop with friendly staff. Nice selection of Pokemon related items which is what my kids are into and what brought us there. Prices are competitive and really nice selection of individual cards all protected in sleeves or top loaders showing that the cards are well cared for. The collector in my cringes at some of these other shops who pile cards into binders or just don't store the cards properly. So i feel better about buying from a place like this knowing things are handled with care. Nice to see a bunch of older and newer cards as a former sports card collector. I had no idea what the difference was in the varieties or even where to begin but luckily Stephen was extremely helpful and honestly funny which made the experience even more enjoyable. They didn't have a package that I was looking for specifically and Marcel knew right off the top of his head that the shipment was coming later that afternoon! Every time I come here I am pleased.
