I live in Seattle and visit Las Vegas from time to time, and Torpedo Comics is easily my favorite comic shop in the area. They have a great selection and a really cool overall vibe. I've checked out several comic stores in Vegas, and this one stands out the most. The last two times I stopped in, Nick helped me out, he's awesome. Super kind, helpful, and brings great energy to the shop. I also met Stephan today, and he was really cool as well. Customer service goes a long way for me. With so much available online, I usually don't return to stores when the service is lacking, but the staff here is absolutely on point. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in Vegas. read more

I went in there 5 minutes before they opened. The door was unlocked. The minute i step inside, I was met with "you need to leave we aren't open yet". I say ok and came back 5 minutes later. I picked out a few books and waited for someone to check me out but ending up leaving empty handed. Other than the initial greeting of "you must leave" no one acknowledged I was there. The rack of new comics at the back is hard to navigate because it's not in any particular organized order. They did have a bunch of cgc comics. That was nice to look at. read more

When we were visiting friends in Vegas, we asked them what the best comic book shop in the area is, and without hesitation, they said Torpedo Comics! We took their suggestion and were so glad we did. Torpedo Comics has a cool sci-fi theme, with sky murals all over the walls, a giant model of AT-AT legs (from Star Wars) coming through the ceiling, and a big model of the Millennium Falcon. There was also a life-size model of Marvel's Silver Surfer on display, which was super neat. In terms of comics, figurines, and other collectibles, they had a plethora of each, and all very well organized in comparison to other comic shops we've been to. My husband wanted to just peruse, but he did end up finding a piece he wanted - the CGC rated (9.8!) Detective Comics #1027, with a variant sketch cover signed by the artist. It didn't have a price on it, so the cashier called the owner who chatted with my husband, and they came to an agreed price, and the comic was ours. I would say if you're looking for a comic shop in Vegas, that isn't super over-the-top (which you pay for at those type of places), and that's more for true comic lovers/collectible chasers, Torpedo Comics is definitely a good spot! read more

Up front, I gotta admit that I'm not regular to this cool shop so my limited experience has all been good! I do like to come thru when I can, especially if I'm comic hunting. I've been lucky in a good number of my finds here. They carry hidden gems for anyone if you're willing to put in the effort. Today's visit is definitely the exception, and a very positive one! Just seeing what's t new, my side search was for a few hard-to-finds. The ladies working were helpful and accommodating to all my questions, with Christine going above and beyond! She took the time to chat it up with me on all the new going-on's and took my info on what I was looking for, which admittedly would be a challenging checklist for anyone at this point! We found our new favorite comic book shop and it's in Las Vegas, NV. We've been to this plaza before because of the Japanese store Daiso, but this time we drove around to see what else was in the immediate area and found this cool shop. The sight of the giant AT-AT walker and Silver Surfer with his board will blow your mind when you enter the building. Too cool. Lots of nice comic and movie touches throughout the place and they have a lot of statues to compliment their great selection of comic books and graphic novels. They even have a literal vault that you can go into to check out some really nice older (and very valuable) comics. The ladies working there when we stopped in were very friendly and helpful. Had some nice small talk with both of them about pop culture and art. We both walked out with a stack of comics to add to our collection(s). We're already looking forward to our next Vegas trip so we can get Torpedoed again. read more

One of the best stores in the nation. Entire staff is friendly and helpful. Has one of the great comic staff characters in the world in BOOM Steve. Or is that Steve BOOM......hmmmmmmmm Anyways Need anything they will help you out. Their 60 - 90s stock is priced and curated by Steve is the best in the nation. Rumor has it that he's in the short list for the DC Bane movie. This place is loaded with collectables, toys, statues and assorted other goodies. They do pulls for new issues. Spotless. Great owner. We went to Torpedo Comics on a whim trying to find some older comics... and we struck gold! They had a bunch of the books we were looking for and they even gave us a 20% discount for spending over $70. Finding these totally made my day and I am so excited! These books are my early holiday gift and I couldn't be happier! I'll have to ho back at some point so that I can share pics, until then...I'll give you a rundown of the highlights... Collectible figurines from palm sized all the way up to life size. My favorites included a life size Yoda, a bank vault with Gotham in the title, Disney figurines, and cute collectable dragons. If you are looking for a comic that's hard to find - make this your first stop. My collection is now 95% complete thanks to Torpedo. Fabulous store! Excellent customer service! I have been recently been getting back into comics, I have a 6 yo son that I have been reading comics with. I went to Torpedo comics a couple days ago. I don't believe in saying anything "negative" without pointing out the positive. First the store is huge, clean, and has a very wide and deep selection, toys, comics and collectibles. The staff knows where everything is and is only an ask away from finding it for you. Everything is categorized, and very easy to find. You could get lost for hours thumbing through books. Now the bad. As I was paying for the books I wanted, I asked if they had a Brzrkr 1. They happened to have one, the 1 per store variant, that I had no knowledge of how much they go for. They had it listed for $200. I told the guy it was a little out of my price range. The clerk then said he could give it to me for $150. It was 1 per store and that it was a good investment. As soon as I got home I looked up the variant, because like I said, I had no knowledge of. To my surprise I saw that raw books were going from $30-70 and a graded and slabbed 9.8 I could buy right now for $180. To say they inflated the price was an understatement. Next time I will just whip out the phone to check prices because I feel I can't trust a comic shop clerk now. I have not bought comics since House of M. All the shops I frequented back then, educated people on comics and made their money without gouging people. Sadly I will not go back to this shop, especially since I cannot return the book. Bottom line I will pull out my phone and see what books are going for. Do the same. Update. Tayler reached out to me and offered to give me a refund for the book. I didn't need that, I offered to get a gift card for the difference. She agreed, I went in and picked it up. Getting the card was great, but what made me extremely happy was the person at the counter (sorry I forgot to ask for her name) she was great answered all my questions, and I even got on a pull list. I was looking for some back issues they did not have at the time, and she was professional and referred me to another shop that has more back issues. I am lucky I get to comic shops around the world when I travel for work. I was in Las Vegas for CES. Torpedo is a great comic books store especially if you are into everything that is "now" eg figurines, hot comic / slabbed books, etc go here. It had a good layout and is very product dense. It had a heavy metal vibe and a touch of attitude which was great but maybe trying to overcompensate for the comic geek thing? I went to Torpedo as Steve Houston is an Overstreet Advisor. I was thinking Silver Age for sure. It was unfortunate when I arrived they had little or no silver age or bronze age; sold out .. my fault I should have phoned ahead, but some great Golden Age - Marvel Tales. I forgot to check on signed books and the reason why? Torpedo is not in central Las Vegas it is about 8 miles out which is not usually a problem but the taxi driver did not know where the mall was and nor did he have GPS .. I had to use my phone to get there. Now the issue is it took longer to get there and this is a strip mall. Usually I spend 30 -90 minutes in a store and spend $$$ but what do you do, when you have to go and you have no amenities.... you go and I left. Now Comix Experience in San Francisco was helpful, tiny product selection and despite that has great signed books; I have been back. Just a few things to consider before you go to Torpedo ...phone ahead, take an uber/drive (no taxi), and drink no fluids even if you are in a desert :) read more

Best comic book store on the planet? No one has what this comic book store has as far as the sheer volume of high end Silver Age and Bronze Age comics. Most are graded and are only inches away for you to purchase. Even there back issue bins are full of hard to find issues. The only other place your going to find comics like this is a comic book convention or some old comic book collector who is stashing his collection away in some vault. This place is the ultimate. The guys who work there are the coolest guys. Not your typical sociopath that you find in most stores. Very friendly and willing to help you find anything comic book related in their store. If I could give zero stars, I would I bought a comic book in July 2021 and got it, signed and they offered to send it out to CGC. I thought that would be a great idea so I paid for CGC and they said that it would be 4 to 5 months before it would return. it's been over two years, and I still have yet received my One comic back I've emailed and called and they just keep telling me to be patient. I think 2+ years is more than patient every time I call they are short with me like I'm bothering them And tell me just to email submissions@torpedocomics.com, and I do and they have not replied to me. Right now I'm at a loss for what to do. I would never recommend them to any comic book lover. This has been a terrible experience. read more

Internet studio disguised as a comic book store. Today was my sixth and final visit to this store and I have yet to be there when they weren't live-streaming. It's super distracting and prevents you from seeing many of the slabs (or get decent service). While they do have a vast selection of new books. But their back issue selection is weak, which is proof Torpedo Comics isn't a "local comic book store" who gets to know new customers or is happy to answer questions and discuss prices. It's a place where the slab prices are at least 2x the FMV and they're more worried about their online presence than in-store experience. read more

I went to this shop while taking a trip to Las Vegas, while there I was looking fo a particular comic which they said they had in another store, which they would mail to me. After negotiating a price i agreed and paid, however, that comic had just been sold and their system hadn't updated yet. in an example of great customer service they credited my card back the price of the comic PLUS they sent me two other comics. Don't know why it's taken me forever to review Torpedo. When it comes to getting not only the latest and greatest comics, but also quality copies of key back issues, this is THE place. The crew at Torpedo are second to none. They greet me by name when I come in, and they are always willing to look for any books I'm after. One thing you can always count on with them is their honesty when it comes to grading. I've never had a book return to me from CGC with a lower grade than Torpedo's estimate. I've had 8.5 estimated books (with a press) come back as 9.8. I appreciate their recommendations, and they know what I like. I have visited Torpedo comics weekly for the past month and the service is the best. The location is always clean, staff is very friendly, and inventory is a nice mix of back issues, new releases and variants, along with toys and slabs. After my second visit Christine recommended the pull box that doesn't cost anything and comes with a discount. She is very friendly, positive, and knowledgeable. She gives good advice about upcoming titles and what to look for. Kara always provides great service including managing my pull list. She is very welcoming and attentive. Been thinking long and hard about this review. I really feel like this needs to be shared. 2 months ago I completed the payment on a $$$$ comic, and emailed the invoice department asking to have it available for pickup the following day. They did not deliver. The invoice department finally emailed back stating the book was taken to the store for pickup. Got to the store and they said they didn't have it. For over the next week it became a blame game between the store and the invoice department on where or who had it last. Finally, trusty Kanon whom is no longer there at the store and I don't know why, found my book when the store manager and assistant manager couldn't find it. Sometimes I wonder if it was either by accident or purposely not found by the staff. This poor service alone is why I'll never buy another comic worth thousands of dollars from them ever again. Also, I have a $500 Gold VIP badge with them for store discounts on comics, included autographs for some signings, and quicker line. Unfortunately, it has been pretty much useless as the store hasn't had any signings in a long time, and they don't restock the store with older books. I know the pandemic put a lid on some things for awhile, but it has ended and there's no more excuse. They extended the time on my badge, but it hasn't made any difference. Their invoice department is great at emailing you promptly if you owe money, but are horrible at replying to emails sent to them. They started mailing my invoices to my home instead of having them available for pickup at the store as I have requested. The main reason why I'd prefer to pick them up in person is because they sometimes add comics I didn't claim or add doubles to the invoices. Personally, I think they have way too many invoices from the live live claim sales to keep track of. The live claim sales are getting harder to watch. Too much monkey business and not enough comics shown. read more

Was really excited coming in here when visiting the area. The moment I stepped in the store. No one greeted me, but just stared at me with a weird look and walked away. The staff here are horrible and acts like they are too good for this place knowing the fact this is one of the hot comic spots. When I was trying to get assisted at the front, no one acknowled me. There was a girl up front and I know she saw me, but kept chatting it up with the other staffs. Not being from this area and drove far just to visit this shop, my visit here was very disappointing. Staff could have been more friendly and acknowledgeable with comics in general. Asked few questions about certain comics and they couldn't give me an answer but kept saying, "I don't know". I wanted to checkout this store as I see their impressive booths on display on the comic cons . I like their inside decor so very perfectly organized with bright labels for each comic series titles . Wall of many amazing graded vintage comic and many keys . But yet I found it disappointing because it was not like they had stacks of raw comic keys in their archives and the prices are too high. And I didn't see any good sales. Or bargain bins . Sorry but the 1 hr Instagram sale on Saturday's doesn't cut it .As a collector i honestly can get way better deals on comic fillers and keys in fb rely auction groups or even eBay . I picked up a 1978 Star Wars 6 issue on fb for $11 with shipping . Same comic in same raw grade is asking like $40 . Please get a public restroom . Comic collectors like to spend time in the store and this makes it difficult. This is Las Vegas and you should be aiming to be the premiere comic all in one store to be at for comic enthusiasts around the world . We know our stuff and our prices and you get have some ongoing deals to entice them if you want to build a reputation and have word of mouth bring your masses . Uhm how cool is this place? I instantly fell in love with how well put together this place was. I had heard John Dolmayan's interview on X107.5 about the store and had to check it out. I spent 20 minutes just looking at all the decor and figurines. The details on that drumset was just plain awesome. I also loved the Gotham Vault with all the super valuable comics. Everything was just organized as how I would want my own collection to be. The customer service was great and the prices were very reasonable. My husband and I were on our way to the nursery when I opened my big mouth and said, Oh look, a comic store! So my husband being a darling replied, we'll go there after we pick up some plants as a reward to me for being a good husband. Yup, I got me one of the good ones. So after much time mulling over what plants to get, we headed over to Torpedo Comics. To me, it seems like it is out of place as the location seems rather industrial. First, the outside is very appealing as they have some characters painted on the outside of the store. As you walk in, it is very nicely organized and clean. And best of all, no empty war of wizard tables in the middle of the store keeping you from getting to the good stuff. Over to the right, is a glassed off section with a Yoda statue in it. To me, it resembles the Yoda fountain they have at the Lucas Film studio in the Presidio. The room also had boxes of comics in there but you can't get to it because the glass doors are locked. Smart idea because if it were open, my husband would have been all over Yoda. As you walk in the store, they do have a large glass case, in the shape of a rectangle, with all the hard to find pieces in there. They had a few old copies of the Annie book series and even had a Luke Skywalker speedster with ObiWan that was sold in the 90s. At least there was one since I bought it for my husband. I though the item was reasonably priced at $25, but the owner was kind enough to discount it and we were able to get it for $20 along with a funko that I wish I could remember what it was, but also reasonably priced at $8. On the same glass counter, nearer the door, were stack of t-shirts that they were selling for only $10. Most of them were of Harlequin ranging from S to L. They did have a Boba Fett polyester type hoodie that was $25. Thank goodness they didn't have my husband's size. Ever watch Comic Book Men? If you do, they even have their own "Bryan" that doesn't work there but is there all the time working...go figure! We did learn from the owner that they will be moving to a new location somewhere on Rainbow.
