I don't think I can describe how bad is service in this place. Me and my family waited for 45 minutes for the soup. When they finally brought the food it was all wrong. Everyone on the line had their ordered mess up. Some clients just walked out. I wonder who is the owner of this place and how it can get this bad. read more

Service was rude, very unorganized with taking orders. Coffee cups are used for soft drinks. Didn't provide any napkins for my sandwich and there were no napkins in sight that I could grab. Burger was sub par. read more

The only reason this is getting two Stars is because the staff was nice. We got the tomato soup, the chicken noodle soup, the beef nacho soup, and a burger. Beef nacho was great, but the tomato and chicken noodle soups were extremely watery and thin. My burger was kinda burned and they had run out of lettuce, tomato, and pickles, but the only reason they didn't have that was because a large group had just come in and wiped them out. The only thing they still had was the cheese and onions. Over all not a very good experience. I would not recommend this to anyone. read more

They have a very skilled chef in the kitchen. The seasoning in the soups and the frosting on the rolls are just right. Good place for breakfast or lunch. Definitely a hidden gem at the resort. For breakfast I would recommend the cinnamon rolls and French toast and for lunch the beer brat soup. read more

In the Village of Winter Park this place can always put a smile on my face. Soup, sandwiches, salads, and even the appetizers can fill you up. This is a far cry from traditional ski village cafeteria food- the ingredients are fresh, taste delicious, and the quaint welcoming atmosphere adds to my love of this awesome spot on the mountain. Breakfast, including a buffet on Sunday, is awesome. I love their breakfast burritos! Lunch offers a great soup and sandwich combo that basically pairs the best of both worlds. Haven't eaten dinner here, but the appetizers, specifically their meat and cheese platter is a great value and so delicious! read more

We were walking around the Winter Park Village one day and walked past this restaurant. We had our 3 dogs with us, but they were totally cool about letting us sitting on the patio. They had a great beer selection and their menu had lots of great options to fit various preferences. We all enjoyed good beer, soup and sandwiches. The beer on special that day was an apricot beer - so good. Service was fast and very friendly. We each had a different soup and 1/2 sandwich combos (3 people) . Every cup of soup and every sandwich was delicious! Seriously, so good. They were super friendly and professional, too. We had the: -Cheeseburger and Mushroom Soup - Sweet Potato & Bacon Soup -Loaded Bake Potato Soup I'd highly recommend dining at this place if you're in the area. The Back Bowl used to be a great place to grab a fairly priced bowl of soup and sandwich while spending a day on the slopes. Now it seems to have become a hang out for the friends of the surly employees. We dropped by Friday. There was a line of ten people waiting to order. Two of the five tables were occupied by young folks who were not dining, but just hanging around, surfing on their phones and chatting with their friends behind the counter. While waiting on the slow moving line my wife asked where the bathroom was. The twerp taking orders told her it was across the street in the parking garage. Which is where the public restrooms are. I know for a fact that the Bowl has a restroom, but apparently not for use by customers these days. I believe that is a violation of the health code. After five more minutes of waiting for the painfully slow moving employees to take orders we decided to look elsewhere. Since the Bowl is the furthest food option from the slopes I suspect the current generation of employees will soon ensure its demise, especially with a new competitor opening next door. read more

The food for adults was good. Try the Santa Cruz burger or green chili soup, definitely worth the inflated price. However, two things to consider before putting in your order. First, the kids cheeseburger that is nearly the price of an adult entree is really just a small slider. Steer clear if you have been on the slopes all say and are looking for a hearty meal. Second, the service is horrible. You can expect to be greeted with impatience, deep sighs, and a tiny cup to refill from an empty pitcher for you water drinkers. Tips are requested in advance but there is no service after you are seated that should factor into your gratuity decision. When the Buyer's remorse sets in, you'll wish you stopped at one of the other restaurant choices you passed up for the back bowl!! read more

Waited for a hour for one sandwich and one cup of soup. Meals were not great, and expensive!

This place is rough. I rolled in there tonight at about 7:00 as my wife really wanted this. Usually, the restaurant is not that busy. But, for some reason it was busy tonight. You would think they would be happy to be getting a lot of business. But, they were a total disaster. I could tell there was problems right when I came in because people seemed to have been waiting awhile to order. But, I pressed on because my wife really wanted a sandwich and I was getting it for her to go. I ended up waiting until about 7:25 when I finally got to the front of the line (mind you it took 25 minutes for them to take orders from approximately 6 people). Once at the front of the line they told me it would be only 2 more minutes until they would take my order. By 7:33 they had not taken my order and I was just left hanging out there. More people came in to order and they said to them that they just could not feed them because they were too busy and it was past 7:30 meaning that the staff wanted to go home. They probably gave up $200-$300 in sales by people they actively turned away. They probably lost $1,000-$1,500 in sales from people that left just because the place was obviously such a disaster. Anyways, by 7:33 they had not helped me and I gave up and walked out even though I was at the front of the line. Total disaster. And, they were totally rude. read more

Went here at 6:30 last night. (Saturday). The resort had been very busy due to a special event. I walked in the door behind another family and heard the clerk telling them that the restaurant was trying to close. When asked if they could order and eat she reluctantly told them yes but acted put out at them. I overheard her say again how they'd been trying to close for an hour. No sign out front and front door was unlocked so I don't know what she meant by "trying to close". Food was ok but nothing outstanding. Overpriced as usual for a resort. I'm a homeowner in some nearby condos but won't be going back here. If they are making enough money to treat customers that way they don't need my business anyway. read more

I have has one of the worst costumer service experiences at this restaurant. We had to wait 1 hour in order for our soup to come in, after asking multiple times for our food, the workers were incompetent and took them an hour in order to just pour the soup into a bowl. Only half of the workers were actually working while there was a long line of costumers waiting for the food, even though the soup was already warmed up and ready to eat, It still took the workers an hour to give out the food,all the workers had to do was pour the soup into a bowl. We had to wait more than 1 hour for 2 hot dogs. Definetely not coming back here anytime soon and wouldn't recommend anyone coming to eat here. read more

I love this place and would eat here every day if i could! The reason i can't ... they only have about 5 tables, and soup is hard to eat while standing up. So, we only go on low-traffic days. I was tempted to give it only 1-star to scare everyone away, so i could have it all for myself! :) But that wouldn't be fair, so i'll be my usual honest self. Awesome soups that are always different (even something basic like their tomato basil soup tastes different from the usual tomato soups out there). And they always have at least one veggie soup on the menu! Their grilled cheese sandwiches are a terrific accompaniment to the soups. And they have the basic wines and beer (although i'm a big fan of fountain Pepsi). To top it off, the staff are super-nice and friendly, and they quickly clean and bus the tables to make their tiny dining area as hospitable as possible. Here's hoping they find a way to heat their patio, so we can sit outside in the winter! read more

Way too small. Does not recycle. All plastic bowls going in the garbage unless you order a bread bowl but it will probably be too soggy from soup. Overpriced but somewhat tasty. A bit disorganized with the service. read more

Very expensive, and not very good. The lady next to us found a hair in her sandwich. We ordered chicken and green chili soup. They took our money, then 20 minutes later told me the chicken soup was all gone. I wound up ordering a different soup. Our group also ordered a 1/2 sandwich and soup. It took forever for the sandwich to be made, and it was bland and tasteless. The chicken chowder soup that replaced my chicken green chili with was loaded with nasty bits of chicken, and tons of onions. It seems the chef (I use this term very loosely) in the back could care less about what he is making, They mindlessly throw ingredients together with no passion or concern for the end product. It was very expensive, and the food was horrible. The concept seems so easy, make some soup and poor it for your customers, I don't know why they take so long to deliver food to the table. They were a hot mess, and had no clue how to manage a very small lunch rush. Too bad, I've had good experiences at this place before, not sure what changed. I'd recommend they put a chef in the back that has passion for cooking. read more
