I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was particularly disappointing. The customer service was the worst I have ever encountered. The woman taking our order, wearing glasses and a braided ponytail was curt, visibly frustrated, and made us feel unwelcome. She seemed so put out and talked down to us. There is an option to "make your own" order rather than selecting a pre-made item. However, when I attempted to do so, I was told no and the response was delivered in a notably rude manner. Despite repeating my order multiple times, it was still prepared incorrectly. Unfortunately, the food itself did not make up for the experience. The bread was dry and of poor quality. Overall, this was a very disappointing visit, both in terms of service and food. read more

so I just had the most amazing experience with Gene at Rudy's deli! My daughter and I were driving down from our home in Grand Lake and we were starving and since my daughter had a delicious salad at Rudy's on her way up, we decided to order sandwiches and Sweet Gene called me to make sure that I knew that with an allergy like onions of which I had that I could not have the spinach wrap. She took tons of time on the phone to make sure that I was getting exactly what I needed and that it was onion free! Few and far between is their service of this fabulous magnitude! The cashier (tall red hair) decided to restock every chip bag while we were already at the register and ready to order. We had to sit there for 5 min while he waited for people to grab chips and restock them. He also did not ask if I wanted a side while every meal comes with one. I travel to Winter Park often and I always stop by Rudi's for lunch at one point during my stay. Good quality, filling sandwiches. The outdoor seating area is charming, with umbrellas and tables that make it the perfect spot to enjoy your meal on a sunny summer day. I ordered the Turkey Avocado Melt, and it hit the spot! Wonderful visit! Perfect stopover for lunch before heading over the pass. Sandwiches were delicious. Bread was nice and soft and portions were generous. Veggies were fresh. Loved, loved, loved! We ordered our sandwiches inside and they took less than 10 minutes. I had the veggie wrap. It was so full of goodness! Roasted red peppers, artichokes, cucumber, lettuce, tomato, feta and basil pesto. I got the macaroni salad side and that was delicious, as well. A lot of food for me, but it was so good, I finished. We ordered lunch for pickup since it's been dumping snow in WP. Didn't get to see the inside but wow these sandwiches were delicious. I wanted the turkey melt but desperately wanted it cold (don't judge). I also subbed honey wheat for french bread because putting a $10 deli sando on anything but a fluffy roll feels wrong to me. It was perfect and they had awesome ratios of everything on it. The broccoli cheddar was super thin in the best way possible and pretty heavy on little soft potato cubes (not a complaint but a compliment). Solid spot to grab a soup & sando in Winter Park! what an amazing sandwich shop! Very personable staff-Johnny made an effort to get to know our names and talk with us. This place has such a relaxed atmosphere, good music, and amazing food! One of the few delis in Winter Park, their paninis were delicious. You can build your own sandwich and they have plenty of other options aside from paninis. It was very busy when we went and took approximately 10 minutes for our food which was reasonable. You have the option for either a half or whole order for your sandwich and it comes with a side, the drink is not included. One of the best gluten free celiac safe sandwiches I've ever had! Super happy to have this option available in Winter Park and the staff was very kind and welcoming. They are taking orders at the window and all dining is at distanced outdoor tables. They use a separate prep area for celiac customers which is awesome and the flavors were delicious. Meet the Business Owner: Tim H.

A native of NY, Tim Hubbard moved to Winter Park in 1998 to pursue his degree in Hotel Restaurant & Tourism Management. After working around the Valley in various Hotel & Restaurant Management positions, he purchased Rudi's Deli in July of 2005. Since then, Rudi's Deli operations, branding & decor have all changed, but the incredible menu has stayed the same.

It was a bit more crunchy than we would have expected instead of soft. This, unfortunately, made it unpalatable for one kid. But instead we got a ham, havarti, and egg chimney (which, looking over the receipt, I was charged for). That one is on me for not correcting the order. This change also made it undesirable for kid #2. Upon my trying it, the bread, a chimney, was equally as good. The ham here was better than my turkey. There was a lot of egg. This was not so good if you're my kid, but probably very good if that's the actual sandwich you want. We had a sweet chimney with nutella. It was very good! Seating is very limited. They have a small-ish space next door. The table we were at was broken, but others looked to be in better shape.

Rudi's Deli is the only deli worth the money. Period. Their bread is fresh, their ingredients are quality, and their staff is so kind. Tim, the owner, helps our non-profit Colorado Young Leaders with so many of our service trips both in Winter Park with the National Sports Center for the Disabled, and in Denver with Colfax Community Network & the African Community Center. We consider this company part of our team. Over this past winter break, students enjoyed Rudi's Deli every day for six days, and never once complained... their sandwiches are that good. We live in South Denver, and my husband goes to this deli three times a week at least. I host business meetings with others at Rudi's. I'm proud of this place. Not only does it have great food, your dollar is furthering their support of young Colorado non-profits like ours. Plus, this is one of the only sandwiches that I can eat while skiing and actually feel full. Besides the sandwiches, our students recommend the house-made coleslaw or locally-sourced chips. If you really want your fill, get the pasta salad. It's awesome to eat at a deli that actually includes a side, and Rudi's has three awesome options for sides! read more

Rudi's was great! I had the Turkey Avocado Melt and my wife had the Baked Artipesto (vegetarian, w/ pesto and artichoke hearts). They both came with big sides of coleslaw and/or pasta salad and were served on fresh baked bread. My wife loved all of the vegetarian options available. After lunch we split a delicious Carmelita (kinda like a brownie but with caramel and chocolate chips). It was decadent. We will be back! This is one of the best places for lunch in Winter Park. I've been a fan for over 10 years and still not bored of the menu, and they recently started serving beer and wine... nice! That should have been the sign to leave. As we stood in the line and ordered there were 2 young men smiling and trying to help. I gave my order and asked to have it toasted. That's when the over bearing owner or manager came in and started humiliating both of the workers in front of the customers.I was so shocked he would berate them in front of the public I didn't say anything to their defense. I don't usually post negative reviews but in this case maybe the manager can learn that is not the way to teach new workers.The worker asked the manager, who was filling in the food containers, for more bacon to complete the order.This is when the manager proceeded to tell the young man he needed to think in advance to request refills on the sandwich condiments in a condescending manner and included he might not be working there if he couldn't put the sandwiches together. The manager then took over the sandwich order so I told him I wanted it toasted... he then said to me with a smart attitude, "I can't toast it before I get it set up." Really? I was trying to bring him up to speed on the order, since he took over. I was heartbroken for the workers and feel horrible I didn't say anything. I then ordered a soft drink and the manager proceeded to tell me they had "no ice but it comes out of the tank cold." I didn't want the drink without ice and he told me 2 more times it would be cold. I said "I just didn't want a drink." The store was too hot so we went outside to eat the sandwich. The picnic tables and seats are made out of trex decking materials and we're extremely hot.
