The place was a cute little diner style and had a cute patio but it was too humid to sit outside haha but other than that really great quality food for our last stop before my flight back to so cal. Such a great brunch spot! Tallahassee offers a large variety of breakfast/brunch spots. I've always put off coming here but finally decided to give it a shot. I'm very happy I did. To start, I am a coffee lover and their coffee bar is great. It is self serve and consists of 4-5 different coffees ranging from high caffeine down to decaf. The coffee offered was from Lucky Goat and was very good. I had the Buffalo Bill Omelete (it was one of their specials). It consisted of 3 XL eggs, monterey jack cheese, fried buffalo chicken, grilled onions, and jalapeños. Oh boy was this delicious. The chicken was cooked to perfection and the mixture of Buffalo sauce and jalapeños was PERFECT. I cannot wait to come back and have this again. It was served with homefries and your choice of toast or biscuit. Everything in this meal was fantastic. My wife and I also split the Cinnamon Roll Pancakes. These things are dangerously good. I would highly suggest trying both of these items. As a side note, the portion sizes here are huge. Come with a very big appetite if you plan on getting any of their meals. My wife and I had enough leftovers to have brunch the next morning! Overall, this is an amazing brunch spot. The food is fantastic (as is the coffee) and the portion sizes are great for the price. I go to The Bada Bean every time I visit Tallahassee! It is a very cute and cozy place with delicious food and great service. Until recently I thought this was just a coffee shop. Boy was I wrong. I can't believe I just worked down the street for 3 years and didn't stop in for lunch. Most of their menu is very creative breakfast, but they have sandwiches (including a Philly cheesesteak and meatball sub that I want to try) and even entre meals such as pot roast and country fried steak. I enjoyed my pecan sausage and eggs breakfast although the pecan sausage was so so. Their home fries were heavily seasoned with a salty seasoning that reminded me of The Rendevous dry rub seasoning I brought home from Memphis. I would ask for a little lighter seasoning next time. My wife's over easy eggs were perfection and the bacon was really good. I will probably get their bacon next time. Her grits were a little runny and under salted. Coffee was diy from pump dispensers after they brought a mug. They have latte, juice, smoothies and other options as well. The service was very good between 10 and 11 on a Thursday. read more

Came here during valentines day, this place had a lot of good items on their menu. I personally loved my spiced chai latte (which is strange because I never order these and this one was delightful). My husband and I ordered the crabcake benedict, and a B.A.L.T sandwich to go which was also good several hours later on the drive back home. The only issue I had was several waiters/waitresses approaching us asking the same thing. I am glad we didn't get brought two of the same thing but it was strange. The Bada Beans has decent brunch. Came here a few weeks ago and my experience was mostly positive. Upon entering the door, I immediately got the local mom and pop vibe. I liked the casual ambiance but thought the ads on their table tops were a bit off-putting. My server was super friendly. I ordered the garden skillet that's basically grilled assorted fresh veggies, ranch potatoes, avocado slices topped with two fried eggs on a hot skillet. It was full of flavors and so healthy! I did have one issue tho. My avocado was brownish so I pointed that out to my server. She apologized and brought me a side of fresh avocado right away. For some reason, this place reminds me of Pancake Joe's in San Antonio, Texas where I previously lived. Mom and pop's local eateries always get my vote. Keep it up, Bada Beans. read more

This is one of my favorite breakfast places in town. They have indoor and outdoor seating. This place is very popular so if you are coming during a peak weekend time be prepared to wait thirty minute for a table but I PROMISE it's worth the wait. My go to is the cinnamon roll pancakes. They are delicious. I recently went in during the week and we asked what the pancakes of the month were and were told they were chocolate covered strawberry pancakes. This is a cool small place with outdoor seating. I stopped by here for breakfast after a college cross country meet. They serve the traditional breakfast items so I ordered their tradition breakfast. Two eggs to order, home fries, and toast. Eggs were over easy and the home fries were 1/2" cubes. There was alot of those potatoes. There were a selection on coffee from tally, bada, dark, decaf. Visited this place around 9am on a Monday, surprisingly was busy but still enough tables to choose from. You get to choose the table you want to sit in instead of having the host choosing it for you. The coffee is self service which I like cause you get to refill specifically when you want avoiding the coffee being cold. I went with the Californian omelette with a side of biscuit and tomatoes. The egg was as expected nothing special, the biscuit made it less flat tasting. The portion is generous though and liked the avocado. My wife went with the garden skillet and had bacon turkey on the side. She seemed to enjoy her dish. I tried the turkey bacon which was a bit dry but tasting good. Finally we finished off with the Elvis and I added white chocolate chips. I made the right choice by adding the chocolate chips otherwise the peanut flavor would be too strong. Overall it was good. Some bites were better than others but all in all it was very good. The coffee was good and they had a few selections but all were smooth. Bada Bean is a great place to go for brunch. The specials here are always so unique. My wife got the cannoli pancakes and the "Cover Up" which was a skillet with Hollandaise, home fries, veggies, eggs, bacon, and provolone. The pancakes in general are always good. Both were delicious. Even though Bada Bean is always crowded the wait isn't too bad. My expectations were greatly exceeded! I've avoided this place because I didn't think think it looked like anything special. However, after 2 years, I finally caved in and tried it and I'm so glad I did. Bada Bean is now one of my fav breakfast spots in Tallahassee. Of course there was a wait when we arrived on Saturday at 9:30am. It was supposed to be a 10-15 minute wait. There were 5 groups of people who arrived shortly after us. They were all seated before us, so I asked if we were still on the list after that (25 minutes) and we were accidentally scratched off the list. I got the garden skillet (egg, home fries, tomatoes, peppers, onions, mushrooms), and I substituted mushrooms for extra green peppers, and I also added Monterey cheese. The veggies were so fresh! You also get to choose between a biscuit or avocado. The skillet was huge and so tasty. It was definitely the best and biggest skillet I've had. My husband and I also shared the cinnamon roll pancakes, which were to die for! My complaints: -The mix up with being seated. Our name got crossed off the list and we were seat after 5 groups that were there after us. -Huge dust bunnies were falling off the fans above us, seems like they need a deep cleaning!! Brunching out, while most definitely my favorite meal, intimidates me. Hangry crowds of people vying for seats in small, over-crowded eateries is not my most favorite way to inhale eggs and pancakes. I was too slick in planning my first (super belated) visit to The Bada Bean. It was a Monday. No one would be there...except it was President's Day: Everyone and their grandmama was there. The servers seemed frustrated and confused with one server telling me we would have to wait for a table (that was empty but only had one chair) and another a few minutes later grabbing a vacant chair and making the damn thing happen: we were seated in minutes! Bada bean bada boom. Neither mentioned that there was lovely outdoor seating but I mentally noted the heck out of it for next time. Other than that everything went super smooth: I ordered the Everything but the Skillet and my hubs ordered the Cinnamon Roll French Toast. Coffee junkies get a huge mug to fill at a self serve station (which can be hard to navigate in a crowd) with lots of options. I partook. I mixed. No regrets. The food came and it was glorious. I had a veritable mountain of crispy potatoes, perfectly sautéed veggies topped with perfectly scrambled cheesy eggs, and half an avocado. I silently applauded as the server gingerly set it in front of me. My husbands French Toast was not the most attractive; a toast only a mother could love? But damn it was tasty. Super strong cinni-roll flavors without being cloyingly sweet. It was a small portion, but it was appropriately priced and really the perfect amount of food for someone who eats portions that don't threaten type-2 diabetes. I came to this place after wandering around town and wanting to try this place again for the first time in years. Upon coming inside, the place was pretty packed with customers chatting over their food with others. I opted for a table inside and sat at one that was a bit dirty, but my only option as the other tables were the same. The hostess came and eventually cleaned my table, after my drink order was taken and I had to ask for it to be cleaned. I eventually ordered home fries and a breakfast veggie wrap. The food came fast and that was the best part. The veggie wrap was runny and the ingredients were falling out with each bite. Also, it didn't have much flavor and I struggled to finish half. The home-fries were good though. My main complaint was the lack of attention to my table and the quality of the food. Also my waiter lacked enthusiasm and I don't feel I got quality service from him. Sad to say, but I live near this place and have only had coffee or take out biscuits and gravy over the past few years. That was a big mistake on my part. Today we stopped in for breakfast as the parking lot looked tolerable so that sealed the deal. As many have described, it's small, but very efficient. After our experience today, I understand the reason we usually see it crowded, and with an overflowing parking lot. It is worth a wait. I had my stand by, biscuits and gravy, but I watched some amazing looking dishes pass by me that looked incredible . Those skillets they have all looked great. Presentation means something here. They also has some great looking variations of Eggs Benedict. My wife had the cinnamon roll French toast, and the tiny bite i was allowed to try was delicious. I really enjoyed The Bada Bean. It's a nice local place, tucked in a small plaza. The atmosphere is inviting, especially for breakfast when the sun is still low over the restaurant. The staff in general was very nice. Our waitress was cool, and she made sure our drinks were kept full when they got low. The menu is decent sized, but pretty much everything on it is quality. I decided to get the Farmers breakfast skillet and a 2 stack of cinnamon roll pancakes. Both were excellent. The skillet came out hot, and the ingredients tasted fresh, and the home fries were nice and crispy. The biscuit was very fluffy and soft. The pancakes tasted like cinnamon rolls, which is what it was supposed to taste like, which is great. The prices weren't too bad either. I would've given it a five star rating except I found a hair in my pancakes, otherwise I was happy with everything! Definitely give them a try, I doubt the hair is a regular occurrence! read more
