[[HIGHLIGHT]]Large restaurant with plenty of seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Server was very sweet and attentive. Food tasted great and portions were good. Parking is available in the garage, restaurant does not validate. Only negative is that they don't have milk alternatives for the coffee.

The location is really nice. I think it's downtown Tallahassee by the capital. The parking garage is on the ground floor and then you take the elevator up. The surrounding is just beautiful. We went on a Saturday at around 11am and the wait time wasn't so bad. I think we waited like 10 minutes. The service was good and the food wasn't bad. Expect for the fact that the cream cheese on my bagel was hot and like melted because it was added on when the bagel was still piping hot, but I should of asked for it on the side and I would of done it. I am hoping to be back when I go back to Tallahassee in October and try other menu options.

Our waiter was super attentive and fast! I don't recommend ordering the pancakes as they were not fluffy (dry). The muffins are a better choice. Everything else was delicious! Expect a wait time of at least 30-45mins during brunch hours, the building is small.

There are some very interesting items on the menu lol. My friend and I shared the mixed beignets as an appetizer (powered sugar & cinnamon sugar). I chose the breakfast burrito (no onions) and my friend ordered a bacon avocado omelet. Service was ok. Wait time was as almost 40 minutes. We tried a "poinsettia mimosa" and it was ok. Tasted like champagne and Grenadian. The beignets were super tiny and a bit hard. Would not recommend. My breakfast burrito was super flavorful. From the chorizo to the eggs, beans and cheese. EVERYTHING was flavorful. The breakfast potatoes were seasoned well and cooked nicely to have a good crunch while remaining soft on the inside. I also thought portion size was very appropriate. Not too many other menu items caught my eye but if I were craving a breakfast burrito I would certainly recommend this place.

Love this place. I've been there a few times and the food is consistently good. Great mimosas and bloody Marie's. Staff is friendly.

Found this breakfast place on Google maps. Solid choice. Espresso was delicious and the omelette was soo good. The cream cheese added extra cheesiness that i might add to my omelets at home. 10/10 would eat again!

Nestled near the Capital, this brunchy restaurant has nice outside seating, weather permitting. The grits were very creamy and their potatoes as well.

Two stars for the service and I think that's being kind, considering that the service was great and the food left plenty to be desired. Bluntly speaking, it's been a long time since I've eaten at a restaurant and genuinely wished I hadn't. Bland doesn't begin to cover how terrible the food was. It's as if things were set to cook and they forgot the concept of seasoning. Prime example of this is my custom omelette. It had broccoli, green peppers, onions, and peppers. It was accompanied by cheese. All I could taste was the cheese and that's if I grabbed a piece with cheese. Where was the salt? The pepper? The flavor? This was on the same plate as an English muffin and some potatoes. The muffin was toasted and I left it alone mainly because everything else was so much food. That and I went to town on the potatoes as they seemed to be the only seasoned thing. Well, until I just couldn't eat potatoes anymore. I drank coffee with this and it was acceptable. Still, what a disillusion with those eggs. I was majorly disappointed. The dish itself was huge, so I expected so much tastiness and instead it just was a huge pile of boring for my stomach. He, on the other hand, had waffles and they looked fine. They were nothing out of the ordinary. He did complain about the butter, but this is typical from him as he's generally picky. Meh, I just don't understand how a breakfast chain has such blasé dishes. I expected something more lively. Oh well. At least the ambiance was cozy and the waiter was nice. This is probably one that I'd need some convincing to try again.

Cinnamon roll French toast - yum!

This place was awesome! Great service, and great food! I ordered the cinnamon roll French toast, and it was amazing! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance was nice, too - comfortable, quiet (when I went), and pleasant, not rushed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Highly recommended!

Located in a cute spot in Tallahassee. I wasn't a fan of the American coffee but that's just because it's not my cup of tea. I didn't realize they had cappuccinos until after I ordered ( my mistake). We ordered the grilled muffins and they were delicious. I recommend the blueberry because the chocolate chip was too much chocolate for me for breakfast. I built my own omelette and it was yummy. Everyone was also very nice! The only area where they could use improvement is their service, they're a little slow but overall I had a good experience

This appetizer came out the same time as the meal the 3 stars is for the marmalade ONLY.

Underwhelming is my input I really do not give atrocious reviews this was not a good experience at all second restaurant in the same area that has been not good at all. Food was no seasoned bland at best. The service was not good at all one server with too many tables. I do not have the wherewithal to list all the negatives there were many! 20 minutes for a straw is one of many! We will not go back again felt like it was an absolute waste of our hard earned dollar the kitchen quality control is not good at all the sat as is evident from the pictures no cream cheese as it was absorbed as it sat potatoes like rubber as they sat and no seasoning at all! Awful experience could have spent $60 elsewhere and had a lovely brunch....you live and learn!

**Review: Solid Steak Dinner at The Edison**…read more I had a pleasant dinner at The Edison recently and walked away satisfied, especially with the food. Service was just okay--nothing terrible, but the appetizers definitely took longer than expected to come out. That said, our server was genuinely good: friendly, knowledgeable, and checked on us at the right moments without being overbearing. The appetizers were worth the wait. Both the fried green tomatoes and the crab appetizer were excellent--fresh, flavorful, and nicely executed. For the main course, the steak was spot-on: tender, well-seasoned, and cooked exactly as ordered. The potatoes that came with it were also really good--creamy and tasty without being heavy. We ended the meal with the bread pudding, and it was one of the best parts of the night. It was done perfectly: warm, moist, and full of rich, comforting flavor that didn't feel overly sweet. All in all, The Edison delivers on the food front. If you're after a reliable steak with some standout starters and a strong dessert, it's a solid choice. Ambiance was good, love the historic building. I'll definitely be back for the steak and bread pudding. Recommended!

The food was well-prepared and flavorful, with a menu that balances classic favorites and creative options. Portions were satisfying, and presentation was thoughtful. The space has a lively yet comfortable vibe, making it a great place for both casual meals and social outings. Service was friendly and attentive, though it slowed a little during peak times. Overall, The Edison is a solid choice for good food, drinks, and ambiance. With slightly faster service during busy hours, it could easily earn a full five stars

It's a place I…read morefrequent on my days off, and last week was my first time dining there since their recent menu flip. That morning I ordered one of my favorites, the lox bagel. I didn't realize that with the new menu changes, ordering a lox bagel meant all assembly required-- by the customer. I received a plastic to-go box with a toasted bagel, a ramekin of cream cheese, a ramekin mixture of capers and onions, and smoked salmon wrapped in a deli sheet. I was puzzled and asked for clarification from a sales associate, as the order was not to-go. I want to stress the fact that there was no negligence whatsoever on the part of the employee-- she's great and always makes my day when I see she's working. However, I find it to be quite a bizarre policy to require a guest to construct their own sandwich. Part of the reason people dine out is to be cared for and have a stress-free morning. It was also a waste of plastic cutlery, as I used a single knife to spread cream cheese and tossed the unneeded fork and spoon. Now while I am proud of my sandwich build and the flavor was good, I was left with fingers that smelled like salmon despite washing my hands multiple times. Not exactly what I was hoping for at 10 am on my day off from working in a restaurant. I understand the fine details of menu flips can be a bit clumsy at first, but I hope management receives this feedback and reconsiders this self-assembly method. I love this place and the atmosphere and staff. The lox bagel experience just didn't hit the mark for me.

Full outside patio, huge inside bar, decor that just screams class, and flavors that will have your taste buds slapping your brain to wake up! Our service was outstanding.. always on the spot and always a very kind soul. The food was expertly prepared and the flavors were pure artistry! From the bread... ohhhh the bread (moth watering in memory), to the main course (a delectable risotto)... to the works of art they call desert! Everything was perfect! The carrot cake was divine! The chocolate tree was a tiramisu and everything was edible... down to the rocks! The ball was a chocolate sphere with mouse inside that they melt open with hot chocolate... pure decadence! However, there were 3 chairs at the lower part of the bar inside so we took those. Service was very good and a manager did make a point to check on us. Food ordered was the Bang Bang Salmon bites - pretty good but very light on the sauce, Cranberry Blueberry salad with Salmon bites added - very tasty and large portion, Tofu Stir Fry which was very good (according to my friend) . The house red wine was very good at an average price. However, I ordered a Knob Creek Manhattan which was tremendously over priced! $18 + plus an upcharge for Knob Creek so it was $22 if I remember correctly. I've seen this in a few Tallahassee restaurants and can't understand how these prices are justifiable, hence the 3 star rating. Happy hour drink prices are only available Mon through Thurs. I managed to secure a nice table with not even a 25 minute wait thanks to a very courteous and professional manager (thank you, Steve!). At the table, everything was clean, shiny and the server was prompt despite a very busy morning. The crowd, obviously, seemed to be mostly college students and parents. I'm pretty sure during the week it's the Capitol Hill crowd. The food was tasty and really hit the spot. Coffees fresh brewed all around, of course. We started with the Breakfast Poutine for appetizer which was hearty and all enjoyed. For entrees, two Southern Benedict, the Waffle Flight, scrambled eggs and bacon. All the food was cooked to order, presented nicely and the taste exceeded expectations. Also, kudos to our Server, Jose. We'll likely visit again and enjoyed the meal. We drove to Tallahassee that day, but unfortunately got caught in heavy traffic due to President Trump speaking in Sumter County near The Villages. As Soon as we realized we would not make our reservation, we called the restaurant to explain the unavoidable circumstances and asked if there was any way to move our reservation to another time that day. Initially, we were told no, so we canceled the reservation. Shortly afterwards, the restaurant called back and informed us we would be charged a cancellation fee of $ 150 - $ 25.00 per person. I completely understand having a cancellation policy, however, charging $ 25 per person for a lunch reservation during unavoidable traffic circumstances felt excessive and unreasonable, especially after we proactively called ahead. What was even more disappointing was the complete lack of flexibility or compassion during an important family milestone. I explained repeatedly that we were desperately trying not to miss our son's graduation celebration and were even worried about missing the ceremony itself because we were stuck in traffic. I asked about every possible alternative- a later dinner reservation, appetizers only, or even moving reservation to another day. Ever request was denied except for a 4 pm slot, which still was not realistic given the traffic situation. What upset me the most was not just the fee itself, but the unwillingness to work with us. A more customer focused approach could have been allowing the $ 150 to be applied toward a future visit. Because of this experience, my family will NEVER dine at Hayward House, and I would NOT recommend it to other FSU families celebrating special occasions.
