I should have turned around and left when I first stepped foot inside. It is dark, gloomy, and unwelcoming. The digital menu screen (TV) has one price listed, got charged another and was told the prices went up last week ($5 more for a bakers dozen). I understand prices change and that was not a big deal. But they also charge extra for each non-plain bagel and nowhere is that posted. After buying a "$17" bakers dozen I wash charged over $29- $22 plus each bagels up charge. The gentleman needs to polish his customer service skills because he comes off as arrogant. I took the bagels home- they are mediocre at best. They were all hard and tough, as if they were a day old. Bagel breakfast sandwiches were amazing! so many options of different bagels make me wanna come back and try them all. cute little breakfast/brunch spot for just you, or you and your partner. Not much seating but it wasn't very busy so it worked out for us. Make your own coffee here which is what i prefer so that was very nice. Their ice coffee is also very good and they drizzle your flavors in the cup for you! Guy at the front that took our order was very friendly and made us feel welcomed! 10/10 place! read more

The place was dark, dingy, and dirty inside. Only 3 types of cream cheese choices and about 6 bagel flavors. All basic ones. Pretty disappointing for a bagel shop. Egg in the sandwich wasn't scrambled, so it's very drippy. Which is fine, but I wasn't expecting that at all. Bagel may have been baked yesterday. Possibly 2 days ago. The veggie cream cheese was horrible. It was plain cream cheese with shredded carrots and soggy lettuce...um, ew. The bag made me laugh because it was from a Cajun chicken place. Bagel barn couldn't even get plain brown bags for Togo. I couldn't eat half of the sandwich before I had to toss it out. read more

WE LOVE THESE BAGELS! The bacon egg and cheese and the sausage egg and cheese are simply delicious. We just moved the the area and plan to give all of our money to this small business. We adore the bagel flavor options and the black coffee is bold and flavorful. The interior design needs some work. It seems unfinished. Additionally, the iced coffee needs some work too. It was watered down and far too sweet for my liking. Finally, if i could make any personal notes, i would suggest adding more flavors of cream cheese. If you're going to have all of the bagel options you should have more cream cheese options to compliment them :) read more

You know that part in IT when Mike is in the alley peering through that thick plastic sheeting and can just faintly see Pennywise doing something with a hanging slab of beef that's unclear yet intrinsically horrifying? And the lighting is dim and it looks filthy and gritty and awful and you can just tell this is a place where horrible things happen? That's Bagel Barn. It feels like a Philly row home basement the minute you enter. It's poorly lit, everything looks old and dirty, and the selection is non-existent. I'd never been there but I was running an errand in the same complex so I figured I'd try it out and grab a coffee, which ended up tasting like it had been watered down and then filtered through a bowling alley ash tray just to give it a taste. It was so awful that I took two sips and tossed it out. On top of all this, the dude behind the counter was surly, impatient, and unfriendly. The fact that at 8 o'clock in the morning, there wasn't a single customer in the store Probably should've been an indication that this wasn't gonna be a good experience. I have been here 3 or 4 times now. The product is excellent, but if I'd say there is anything better it's their service. They are very friendly and understand customer service. They are consistent with the way the make the breakfast sandwiches. Their bagels are also freaking awesome. I have started sharing with my family and they love their bagels too. Got Bacon, egg, and cheese bagels today. Have only been here a few times and was never really impressed. The bagel was poppy seed and I will say that it was small but pretty good. Probably our fault for not saying salt and paper but it was pretty bland and the eggs taste like dirty grill. Bacon was really dry and crispy if you like it that way. Cheese slice must have been super thin because it barely seemed like it had any. $13 for meh. Not real good not bad. Try it for yourself. I'll hit it up for some bagels at some point. read more

I will start by saying I work in NYC and am very use to their style bagels. I am down in this area on business and tried this place. I see their reviews with being inconsistent, but here is what I see: a small, but quality bagel. I ordered a BEC on an everything. The bagel itself had really good texture and taste. If you are looking for that soft style grocery bagel, this isn't for you. I found the sandwich itself to have just enough seasoning to be noticeable. They used fresh cracked eggs. The place itself is clean and service was prompt. If you haven't tried them out yet, go for it. read more

This place just upped their game! I was fortunate enough to come by today around lunchtime when they were creating a new menu item. Real hand formed, juicy hamburgers! (No frozen mystery meat here). They had just created their first Pizza Burger on a plain bagel! The mozzarella cheese was smooth, creamy, not chewy with the perfect stretch. The sauce was a perfect compliment on this juicy, medium burger. (I'm sure you can get it done your way). The plain bagel was perfectly paired to this tasty creation. They know fresh top quality & homemade ingredients will set them apart. No reason not to have lunch here too. I think the sky's the limit in their future offerings. Cute place in a strip mall. It seems like it is more for take out then dinning in as there are only two small two top tables and about four high top standing only tables. The menu is somewhat limited with only three flavored cream cheese choices and no sides such as hash browns or French fries. The order comes packaged to go. I would have preferred to have been asked if I was eating in. I had a cheddar cheese bagel with cream cheese. The bagel was limited on the cheddar cheese. I would probably wait until the business has been there a few more months to see what improvements have been made. It would have been nice if it were more accommodating to those who would like to sit and relax while eating breakfast and having coffee. read more

This may be my lowest review on yelp but it is what it is. At first glance , the store is very clean and cozy and theirs young kids working the counter which is always good to see. However, I ordered 3 bagels with cream cheese (1 toasted). My order took 15 minutes... literally. In my head i said "their young kids just sit down eat and be quiet." Worst decision I made was biting into that bagel. The bagel itself was smalll and stale tastIng. The cream cheese Was embarrassing. Honestly it tasted very similar to a Dunkin donut bagel which are god awful. After seeing the review score i thought there wAs no way this is the same place I had been... must be a known member of the community or have a lot of relatives because that place was not good. I am local and was so excited to have a locally owned bagel shop in town. After trying bagels from here on multiple occasions they have consistently been harder than any other bagel I've ever had. You should be able to press on a bagel and have it bounce back up. You can't even press these things. I truly hope they change their recipe. I watched this business open and eagerly waited for the opening. I was not impressed at the start because there was an obsession there to play country music entirely too loud. They were completely oblivious. I had to ask to have the music lowered. The service was slow and the staff not very friendly. It took some time but that has changed and so have the number of customers coming and going. I never see it empty when I walk in anymore because the food is good and is served quickly. And there is a thank you with your change in hand. There is only one change I would make if this were my business. Waiting for my order is awkward. There are tables and chairs but they are around the corner and out of sight of the staff and the service counter. I am never comfortable there having to keep an eye open for someone to gesture me over to the counter. I have health problems and need to sit after a few minutes of standing. I can't be the only one. There is a simple solution. There is plenty of room nearer the counter for a few chairs and coffee table with a few food mags (coffee shop style) for customers to sit instead of forced to stand. A discreet little sign on the coffee table "Relax while we prepare your order" would get the message across to move to a table when your order arrives and your customers will appreciate it. read more

Looking for a good bagel in southern New Jersey can be a daunting task. Nothing seems to measure up to the New York City bagels. If New York flavor is what you are looking for, it can now be found in Franklinville. Shop co-owner Steve told me that he gets the dough from New York City on a regular basis and he bakes them fresh daily in his store. You can tell!!! Get there early though, he only bakes a pre determined number of them a day, and once they are gone, they are gone. Try the freshly made bagel breakfast sandwiches, you can taste the difference individually made sandwiches make. The cinnamon toast bagel is a favorite of mine. read more

We stopped here based on the reviews. Came from California on our way to the Jersey Shore. Give the food a 8/10. So very good, fresh and flavoraful. Give service a 2/10. We are sitting there and our food came out 30 minutes after we ordered ....in a to-go bag. When we ordered only one person in shop. One of our meals was missing. Took forever to get it.
