This establishments humble location offers no insight into the delicious treats that wait. As you trek through the sterile environment of a downtown high rise you're eventually greeted by the warm, intoxicating smells of your holey prize. My expectations were low as I didn't think Cincinnati had much to offer in the way of fine New York style bagels but the bagel stop proved me wrong. With wonderful customer service behind me and An everything bagel sandwich for a very fair price in my hands I was on my way. No milling about at this establishment, but I can't imagine I would have stayed long. Before I knew it I was biting into this tantalizing treat and not long after I was hoping for another bite. Lo & behold I had consumed the entirety of meal in what felt like a second. They say time flies when you're having fun and my taste buds were no exception. I overheard someone talking about this as their go to lunch spot downtown, so I made it a point to check it out. I love a good bagel, and Cincinnati has quite a few to offer. I was a little confused about the setup and ordering process, and it was crowded in the small store, but the kind person at the register walked me through it and didn't rush. There are lots of bread and bagel options, and you can get all sorts of sandwiches on any of them. I went for a rueben on an everything bagel, and it was very tasty! Maybe not the tidiest lunch, but we have a sink in our break room, so I'm not afraid of a little sauce. I tried the potato salad as a side, as well as an unsweetened iced tea, and both were good! I think this is a nice addition to downtown! read more

I usually go to Bagel Stop as a last resort, mostly because of price. However, today was a day which made me say "Forget It". When I go to Bagel Stop, I usually order a Garlic Herb Bagel with Egg. I don't mind the egg not being made in front of me, or even that it's microwaved. The problem I had, was when the employee making my sandwich charred my bagel and wrapped it up like it was all right. I took part of it out and looked at him and the cashier. I could've raised a stink about it, but I was running out of time and had to get back to work. "Maybe it's not so bad." I told myself. But, I was very, very wrong. the egg was edible, but the bagel, for the most part, tasted like cardboard...and yes...I do know what that tastes like. After consuming the egg portion with a little of the bagel, I tossed it in the trash where it belonged. I would strongly recommend anyone in a pinch to go elsewhere. This place may be the closest to me, but I'd gladly take a few more minutes to have something prepared right, than to have someone ruin it and keep going like it's all right. read more

This is the Bagel Stop location in the skywalk at the Chemed Center (there's another location on Walnut). The curry chicken salad is the best option I've found there; other options I've tried (e.g. turkey reuben, regular chicken salad) aren't that great. The wait gets really, really long around noon here (even if it doesn't seem like there are that many people in front of you). It's also a bit overpriced for what you get. So, probably only worth it for those who work very close, or if you can get there via the skywalk without getting hot, cold, or rained on (as the case may be). read more

Like the other reviews state, Bagel Stop is overpriced. Lunch options are pretty good, but I don't recommend the breakfast AT ALL. This morning, I went and they were out of bagels (which is like an Italian restaurant being out of pasta), and so I opted for their breakfast burrito. It was possibly the worst breakfast burrito that I've ever eaten. The egg had been microwaved, there was too much salsa and onion, and the entire thing was cold. The fact that it cost $4.95 didn't help. The first time I tried breakfast there, I was less than impressed. This was the second (and last) time I will eat breakfast there. Sad to say for a place that purportedly specializes in a typical breakfast food. read more

Before it was bagel stop, this small location in the Cincinnati Enquirer building was a family owned shop with incredible soups and reasonable prices. It became so convenient to cross the street that we often visited the place several times a day. When it reopened again as Bagel Stop we were overjoyed until we realized the price hikes and the changes in the menu. All complaining aside this is still a very convenient place to have if you work within a few blocks of the area. The bagels are good, the chocolate cookies are addicting and the sandwich selection is pretty decent, especially if you take into account the several vegetarian options. To bad the soups will never hold a candle to the previous business. The staff is usually dour and tough to get a smile from but I've found myself alone with them in the shop on many occasions when they didn't feel threatened by the suits and the skirts, the banter turned light and I actually felt I was dealing with real humans, not ghettofab cutouts with neck tattoos and bad hair. Check out the lunch calendar with specials highlighted a month in advance. They stop selling soups and sandwiches half an hour before close but they have extended their hours to 3:30pm. Be prepared to wait during the lunch rush but that's pretty typical for the area. read more

I work in the building with the Bagel Stop and have mixed feelings about the place. I am pretty much obsessed with the jalepeno bagel with veggie cream cheese and wish I could start every day with it! However, I've gotten a few other bagels from there and haven't felt as passionate about them. A few times they've been over cooked and burnt to the point they're not worth eating. I've only had a few things for lunch from there and I've been the most pleased with the Cajun chicken salad on a pretzel bun. It's delicious and very filling! I did try their chicken chili one day and it was a thick, gross, glob of a chili that I would hardly call chili. It tasted gross and clearly was the last bit of the pot. I wish I didn't spend my money on that. As for coffee, it's just okay. I prefer to get my coffee elsewhere, but if I have to I will grab a cup from the Bagel Stop. I truly agree with other reviewers that they are overpriced. For a refill it's pretty much the same price as the original cup. Lastly, I do want to say how friendly and nice all of the workers are, they all seem to be having a good time and they treat customers very well. read more

I asked for something that was on the website, but I guess they weren't offering it that day? He talked to me like I was a complete idiot. I went to the Enquirer location at 2:55 pm, not realizing they closed at 3 pm. The ladies were very nice and said it was no problem to make whatever I wanted. This is actually for the location inside the Enquirer Building on 3rd & Elm. They are OVERPRICED!! This location just started selling popcorn this week, At first a big bag was 1.99. Well as of today, it has gone up to 2.50 a bag! Also what a joke that a large fountain soda is almost $2!! I can get the same size drink at the gas station by my house for .69 cents!! The food is ok & the guy that is in charge is very nice but seriously, LOWER YOUR DAM PRICES!!!! read more
