My husband and I came here on a Friday midday for a late breakfast after some errands. There was no one here and the place looked a little in disarray like they were still setting up or redoing the inside maybe? The inside also smelled funky. Wasn't intense but there was something in the air. The two people working were very kind and friendly and I'm pretty sure they were the owners. Super laid back and very much seemed to just be enjoying being in the moment types. My husband ordered biscuits and gravy and I ordered the sage and sausage. The biscuits were very good and not dry, the sausage was sooooo flavorful and the gravy on top just made it perfect! The sage and sausage was huge! Wow! This place is a gem. Not busy at all on a Wednesday morning. The husband and wife owners were really sweet and personable. I got the bananas foster liege waffle breakfast, so it comes with 2 eggs, sausage, and hash browns. The waffle was out of this world, and I would absolutely get it again when we come back. My husband got the s'mores liege waffle with the Tennessee hot chicken tenders. The chicken is perfectly moist on the inside, with a crispy breading. The Tennessee hot sauce was soooo good too! Finally got to experience Waffle Rush via Doordash. Their strawberry shortcake was perfection, even with barely there whipped cream. Their death by bacon stuffed waffle was jam packed and had good flavor. I don't believe we received their sage and sausage stuffed waffle, because both stuffed waffles received, looked and tasted identical. We're not huge fans of thick bread-y waffles to begin with, and perhaps we would've liked them more, had we eaten them hot in the restaurant. The fries all dressed weren't too bad, but I'd probably skip those next time. Worth a visit, but I recommend sticking to their fruit/dessert waffles or ordering what this place is known for, their chicken and waffles. read more

This place has weird vibes and good food but strange. Fist time coming and we stopped in on a Friday at 12:30. It was dead quiet with nobody calling or eating inside. The two workers were sitting down in chairs watching a movie on an iPad. We sat down and the lady hands us two menus and went to get us waters. They do have Pepsi products. $3 for a big plastic glass full. We shared a plate of food. We got one of the breakfasts that came with- three slices of bacon, two sunny side up eggs which were cooked perfectly, hashbrowns that were dripping in oil/butter it left the plate yellow which was kinda gross but they were cooked well, a waffle that was two little waffle squares big that had a scoop of butter on it, and we added strawberries for $4 extra. All that was $21 she charged us. Can't remember if that was the price on the menu. The inside is weirdly laid out. Several tables, 8 of them. Looked like they had lots of personal junk on some tables closest to the door. The floor and tables were dirty. Plastic utensils. They pre package syrup and ketchup in the plastic to go cups, they microwaved the syrup to get it hot and distorted the plastic cup wich is weird. Weird vibes overall but their chicken and waffles looks decent from the pictures. I dont think I will eat here again, dont really trust this place. The super delicious maple syrup sauce is incredible and they gave me ranch without asking. Bacon was thick and juicy the way it's supposed to be. This place is awesome, I'm so sad I just discovered it right before we move out of Alaska. The hot & spicy pimento cheese sandwich had my North Carolina heart singing! While I didn't think it was that spicy, the chicken was oh so juicy, tender, and perfect. Also their waffle fries could rival and, dare I say, be better than chick-fil-a's waffle fries! Also none of the food was overly greasy, which was great. The chipotle sauce that came on the side kind of tasted like sour cream mixed with chili powder. This small family run restaurant reminds me of the small hole in the wall Deep South Chicken and Waffles places. Seats maybe 22 in a shop directly across from Bass Pro Shops boats in the shopping center that is hard to see. The owners wait on table, cook and do everything. They are friendly and a joy to experience. I had the Belgium waffle breakfast served on two large paper plates with plastic fork and knife and a large coffee in a paper cup. The breakfast looked so good I dived in totally forgetting to take a picture until it was almost gone. Two eggs over easy, two slices of ham and hash browns with a generous waffle with maple syrup and coffee $18.00 for all. It was delicious and filling. My standard for waffles is that they are flavorful, no uncooked batter, light in texture and deep brown with a slight crunch and no soft and pasty texture. This waffle met all the great requirements and had none of the detractors. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the hash browns just right and generous. A suitable family place that accepts credit cards. I brought my wife back to have lunch 30 minutes after I had left. She had the Banana Fosters Waffle with sweet chunks and whipped cream. Again I was marveling her dish and she got to it before I could get a picture. Not to be a total failure with the pics I took one of the gentleman at the next table without violating his privacy and two out front. This is a great place to bring the family and my next visit will be the chicken and waffles. The menu is very descriptive so you know what you are ordering. The prices are very reasonable. The chicken is perfectly moist (I don't care if that word offends you, get over it!) And it's only $12. The waffle was delicious and unlike any I've ever had. It comes with syrup and honey mustard. This will be my first review ever. I am glad that it is going to be a positive one. I forgot the name of my order but I had tried their Hashbrowns, Scrambled Eggs, and Chicken and Waffles. The chicken genuinely was some of the best chicken I have ever had in Alaska. It truly was amazing. In comparison to the well renowned Chicken Shack, this place blew them out of the water with the nice crunchy/soft texture of the Belgian Waffles and the nice thin but crunchy breading on the chicken. Again I reiterate I have never left a review for anything ever but man this place blew my girlfriends and my brain out. It was truly great. However I will say the atmosphere is a little odd like a socially awkward kid in your highschool cafeteria. The service felt the same way. Not that it was necessarily bad but customs and courtesies wasn't exactly a priority. All this being said I don't think a restaurant is anything without the food and it would be a disservice if I didn't disregard a relatively minor critique such as "vibe". There was a lot of personal items and restaurant supplies on the floor near the front door and the dining tables, it looked cluttered. The prices were higher than I expected just because they were still served with plastic forks and knives and the syrup and sauces come in small plastic cups with lids. The plates came out at different times. They use a heavy amount of oil and salt/seasoning. I would recommend this place for take out or delivery waffles, I'd skip the dine in breakfast. When my driver arrived at their restaurant to pick up the food. He reported that I believe is the owner (lady we seen on their website picture) didn't ask him the proper question to the order he was picking up. He had to go in his car to call me to confirm the order. I had to inform my driver that when I placed the order over the phone she only confirmed my phone number so I think you should confirm the order pick up by phone number. If this was in a more centralized location and lowered their prices a teeny bit, they would do a bumping business. But I don't think this place is going to last very long in this location, so definitely check this place out before it disappears. They have two different types of waffles, both of which they execute well, one is a sweet type and one more savory. You wait quite a while for your food since this is a one man show, but I didn't mind since he was super nice. I feel like if this place was on a college campus, or in the mall or downtown, it would be very popular. I liked it, but it's not worth driving cross town for. The place had an odd and uncomfortable vibe. One of the servers were nice and the other one was oddly forcing herself to be friendly (I don't know how else to explain it). The food was not good. The waffles were nothing but sugar (I got the plain waffles with berries on the side). The hash browns were drenched with oily and salt.
