My first experience was OK. friendly staffordered 4 cupcakes, all four different flavors. they were just okay. they were a little on the dry side :( second experience we entered, unfortunately was not greeted, the girl was on the phone, sounded like a customer asking a 1,000 questions but unfortunately that puts the customer at loss Bc no one was there to help. waited approximately 6 minutes to finally get waited on, girl wasn't personal but polite. got chocolate covered pretzels and cake pops (all 5 flavors) that they were absolutely delicious and beautifully decorated, standard pricing. Not as much variety as I would've liked to see in in "taking away" for dessert maybe they seem to specialize more in wedding cakes, there were a few examples. read more

We ordered our wedding cake from BakeWorks and it was delicious. The cake we ordered was based on one we saw on the website (marbled fondant so that it looks like actual marble). The cake was beautiful and so so delicious. I am thrilled with the result, and so were our guests. My mom kept saying how delicious it was. I often find wedding cake to be underwhelming and am so glad that BakeWorks exceeded expectations. We did a "tasting" during COVID which meant that we picked up a box full of different slices of cake with various fillings and frostings. They were all really delicious and we had a hard time choosing which combination we wanted. I wish I lived closer to the bakery because this would be my new go-to for all cakes in the future. Brides, don't let other reviews deter you from using the Bake Works for your wedding cake. The Bake Works was the affiliated cake company for my venue, but I was planning on using them anyway. My family has ordered several cakes from The Bake Works for many different occasions (anniversaries, graduations, birthdays) and they never disappoint. Our wedding cake was delicious and beautiful. We got a vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream frosting. (The hazlenut cake at the taste testing was to die for, but my husband doesn't like hazlenut). But above the taste, the appearance of the cake was absolutely jaw-droppingly beautiful. I gave the Bake Works a picture of a cake I had found on pinterest, with some paint chip swatches to use for color matching. The cake looked EXACTLY like the photo. The original cake I belive was fondant, but the Bake Works was able to create the same amazingly smooth effect with buttercream frosting. We got so many compliments on how beautiful, original, and tasty the cake was! My only complaint about the Bake Works was the tasting. The woman we met with was not as personable as I would have liked (but I think she may just be quiet) and I was not blown away by most of the cake flavors. Even the vanilla that we picked was medicore at best during the tasting. HOWEVER, the actual cake the day of the wedding was absolutely phenomenal, so ladies, don't let your tasting discourage you. My husband and I recently celebrated our one year anniversary (better late than never on a review right?!) The Bakeworks made our wedding cake and cupcakes. My tasting went so smoothly as I knew exactly what I wanted and they DELIVERED. My guests still talk about that cake. It was an 3 tier almond cake with raspberry filling and buttercream frosting (the middle tear had lemon filling). We had cannoli cupcakes and chocolate peanut butter cupcakes. We wanted to save our top tier for our one year anniversary, and it didn't even make it one day. We sat in our hotel room eating it in bed! Well, I couldn't be happier with my experience with them. They were friendly, responsive, and attentive over email and over the phone. The cake looked exactly how I wanted it (beautiful) and tasted even better...light, moist, NOT too sweet, just perfect for a hot summer day. Looks nice, but very sugary sweet.... Not a smooth butter cream icing

We just had our cake tasting yesterday at the Bake Works. Upon entering, the shop was clean and bright and full of wonderful, fanciful looking goodies. They were ready for us as soon as we came in and Amanda was friendly, professional and very easy to work with. She seemed to take a real interest in our ideas for our wedding cake which made us happy. The cakes were moist slices (10 different combinations of cake and filling!!!) with soft, smooth buttercream icing on top. Admittedly, we didn't try the red velvet as I personally find red velvet to be a bland substitute for chocolate anyway but it was a deep red, not brown. The darker a red velvet is, actually, means there is more cocoa in the cake batter so it is usually an indicator of high quality. Maybe some previous reviewers don't know that.. All of the cakes we tasted were incredible (raspberry and ganache! Almond cake! Chocolate hazelnut!) but we decided on the coconut cake with lemon filling in some tiers and mango filling in other tiers. It was SUPERB and perfect for a summer wedding. My fiancee doesn't usually like coconut because of the texture of coconut flakes, but he loved the coconut cake - which does not have any flakes in it, by the way. Also, I read a previous review that mentioned cake tasting being at child-sized tables?? I'm not sure if this is pure fabrication or not, but it sounds incredibly unlikely when they had a perfectly good full-size round table close to the kitchen so Amanda could bring us out the cake slices easily. There were some child-sized tables (probably for birthday/ tea parties) but these were all at the front of the store near the windows so I have no idea why they would ever have a cake tasting for adults there. read more

The Bake Works made my wedding cake, black and white cookies as favors, and my grooms cake. Bake Works made my wedding cake and it was both STUNNING and MOIST!!! (Something I had never experienced before in all of my years of attending weddings as a guest). We had two layers of lemon cake with raspberry and cream filling and a layer of almond cake with chocolate cream. Everyone loved it! We went to a tasting and picked out our flavors and told them the design we wanted and went into detail. That's all we had to do. They made it so easy and on the day of, when I walked in and saw my beautiful cake and grooms cake, they knocked it out of the park! I can't recommend The Bake Works highly enough!!! The WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I ordered a birthday cake 3 months ago and asked for a specific design. I spoke to an employee who told me flat out there would be no problem doing this simple flat design. We weren't talking about "Cake boss" design here folks. My assistant picked up the cake 3 hours before the party. It looked like a child had done the design. Horrible and unprofessional. I was stunned. I called and immediately the employee who answered the phone and swore he was the owner, (I know that sisters own it) this man called ROBERT began dropping the F bomb on me, cursing up a storm. I did not use this language to him although I was upset. He told me, "if I wanted WOW I should have told them." What? Anything coming out of your Bakery should have wow. Then he added insult to offer me 10 dollars off. I didnt want the money I wanted a nice cake. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS CAKE COMPANY. I was convinced that I would be enjoying a half decent cupcake here, but sadly that was not the case. the customer service was ok. so- the treats... apparently the cupcake case is refrigerated, I noticed condensation on the goods in there. I thought that was a little off putting. I've never been to a bakery that refrigerates it's baked goods, why would you have to if they're fresh? regardless, my husband and I chose a respectable chocolate cupcake with chocolate icing, my daughters had chocolate chip cookie dough cake pops. and now I realize why you don't refrigerate cupcakes at a bakery. the frosting was so hard that it couldn't be eaten in the same bite with the cupcake. you had to take a bite of cupcake and break off (yes, BREAK OFF!) a piece of icing to go with it. then the icing... I have a lot of experience with buttercream as the mother of two girls and a baker myself and this butter tasted stale. not as bad as previously frozen butter, but close. and it was gritty. awful and shameful for them. the chocolate cake was bland at best. the cake pops were too hard and too sweet. and my whole family who loves sweet treats didn't finish their treats, which I think has never happened before. that in itself speaks volumes. read more

It was delicious (my guests kept commenting how it tasted "homemade" and how it was nice and moist.) It was also beautiful. As far as I know, the cake arrived on time, the good folks over at Bake Works were very easy to work with, gave us lots of flavor choices and I found the price fair. Two notes for budding brides: --I wasn't thrilled with the tasting. The samples tasted like refrigerator. But the final product was delicious! --There is one lady who sometimes answers the phone who wasn't pleasant. Get past that. We ordered our wedding cake from here as it was part of our catering package. We decided on 2 variations for each tier: pumpkin/cream cheese and vanilla/chocolate ganache. The top tier of the cake, the portion saved for our anniversary, was to be a combination of these. The cake itself was good. However, I am very disappointed because we did not receive the correct flavor combination for the portion of our one year anniversary cake. This is unprofessional and deceiving- as customers we spent time and money for a product that we did not receive. We did not have an opportunity to eat the cake (besides the cutting) at the wedding and I was really looking forward to enjoying it at the one year mark.
