Yes!, first time visit after getting a few recommendations to give it a try. It held up to the positive reviews. Located in plaza with lots of parking, clean and easy access to bakery. Good crowd coming in and out We were looking for some Pandesal and there was a good selection.

Filipino bakery popular in Jacksonville with super polite staff and tons of Filipino baked goods for your sweet tooth. Fun fact: The baked goods at Lucky Goat Coffee near Town Center is...you guessed Baker's Son baked goods! Be prepared for a smaller space and being in line for a bit. In my opinion, people feel the wait is worth it for this bakery institution in Jacksonville!

I've been a long time fan of Valerio's! They are a major Pinoy-bakery in the West Coast and are usually tied to Seafood City grocery store. But then my sister, let me know they have this very cool bakery which is just a trendier version. They still sell the staples: pandesal, pan de leche, puto, and all the other pinoy breads and desserts you could want. BUT - also a lot of ube based breads, Dubai croissants, and calamansi drinks. This space is TINY though, so walking in really smushes you in to look at their foods. They also did not have calamansi juice for their drinks, but I ended getting a Banana Con Yelo. My luggage home was STUFFED with bread since we do not have a pinoy bakery in Arizona. I highly recommend the ube brownies (comes with white chocolate), ube pistachio croissaint, Dubai croissant, ensymada, and of course, the pandesal.

I've been wanting to try this place for a while. After a trip to lotte, I decided today was the right day to do it. I initially went for something black sesame, but seeing no sign of it, I opted for something ube (which, let's be honest, I would've gotten something ube regardless). I got the ube coffee cake and biscoff cookies. Haven't tried the cookies yet, but if they're anything like the coffee cake, then prepare my coffin bc that was to die for.

I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!! RUNNNN if you haven't tried it! The food is absolutely amazing and their treats are even better.

Have you wanted to try the viral tik tok Dubai chocolate? Nervous about where the product comes from.... SAME, lol!!! However... this place has mixed the viral chocolate bar with a fresh and flaky croissant.... That you literally will be talking to everyone about!!! Such a wonderful place for FRESH BAKERY items. The store was small, yet clean and organized. The service was friendly and so was the patrons. This store just makes your soul happy when walking in.... Imagine what happens when you taste their products!

Small but a beautiful and cute location. Lots of great parking. The smell from inside is contagious as well as watching the pastries continuously restocked. There were so many exotic pastries to choose from. The staff was friendly and I felt very welcome upon entering the building. I tried the hopia ube which was yummy.

The Baker's Son is one of my go-to bakeries--both the pastries and fresh-baked bread are consistently excellent, with the ube treats being my personal favorite. The halo-halo is always on point. The staff is warm and friendly, and while it can get busy, the quality makes it well worth the wait.

This place is like heaven on earth for filipino pastries! If you're looking for fresh filipino pastries, this is the only place to go to in jax. Everything is made fresh and in-house and you will not be disappointed in anything you get here. They do have a few warm options, such as siopao(steamed bun with protein inside) so forget to get 1 or 5! My go-to option here is the fresh pandesal, which brings me back to my childhood!

    Gabi Y.

I spent so much here because my family and I love ube! They had so many different ube selections. Yummy stuff here and I would come back to try the drinks next time too.

I had someone buy me some goodies from The Baker's Son, so I've never been to the physical store yet. These were packaged well for traveling 6 hrs to Atlanta. I ordered whole wheat pan de sal (for health lol), ube ensaymada, kakanin sampler (looks like this had kutsinta, puto, puto flan, pichi pichi and something else I cannot remember the name of) and a big tray of puto flan. Price wise, I feel as if everything was super reasonable. Flavor wise, everything brought me back home. I love enjoying pandesal in the mornings toasted with coffee. The puto flan, I believed, was flavored but can't really taste it. The kakanin sampler to me had a weird taste - though my favorite here was the palitaw and puto of course. My favorite from this haul was the ube ensaymada that I wish I would have gotten more than one. It's stuffed with halaya and the bun itself is so stretchy and good topped with ube butter and cheese for saltiness. Next time I'm in JAX, I will definitely be stopping here to try more of their goodies!

OMG!!! So delicious. The amount of incredible options is almost overwhelming. We got several different things and couldn't even wait until we got home- ate the empanadas and pork adobo pandesal in the car! We got the ube latte and ube matcha latte also so so good.

The best Filipino bakery in Jacksonville. The only downside is that it's small but I don't want to knock it down a star just for being small. It's a take out bakery so I guess it's expected that it's small. All the deserts are delicious!!! They also have coffee and ube shakes too! Expect some bakery items to be fresh, some maybe made before hand. Try to come early though to beat a line! The store is small

The next morning, we had the sausage and scallion bun at home. I liked it, maybe more than the pork bun, and would get it again, though it had the advantage of being reheated at home in the microwave. I'd asked the server if she could reheat our items when I bought them, but she said no, and didn't seem to understand English well. So far, I've preferred the savory things to the sweets here. Each item was $3-3.25, so a better value than the other bakeries I go to. I will return to this place periodically, but I still prefer places like Cruffin & Tea and Le Petit Paris, so I'm giving Mai Xiang Garden Bakery an average rating, 3 stars: pretty good, but not above average for a bakery, other than the good value.
