I came here due to a friend recommendation. I may have came on an off day. When I came in it was very hot. I had to ask about turning the overhead fan on. When I looked at the shelves they looked empty. I ended up asking about their whiskey and hard seltzers. These were very limited sadly.i finally went with bullet whiskey. This was much higher in price than the other spots I go to. It definitely should not be more than Jameson. I asked about the tequilas and was given a good suggestion at a fair price. Although, i was quoted one price and given another price on check out. Definitely not a whiskey bar or bar for great selection. So it will be hard for me to come back.. I will not go out of my way for this one. The shelves and bar were pretty empty. I may give them another shot on a karaoke night and will update then. I do enjoy the big open bar feel and cheers vibe. A very old male bartender just came in and was making very strange comments about another bartender that gave me the ick. "Where everybody knows your name...." Need I say more? The bartenders introduced themselves and called us by name after checking our id. Pool tables are $1 and they have my hubbys favorite liqueur which he claims is hard to find. I was excited they had "Not Your Fathers Root Beer". Not a bad joint. For the life of me I can't figure out why it's so hard to find a sports bar with good food, great screens and sound, and good drinks. Houston was the worst but that's a different story. The bartender and patrons were super friendly. In fact, I asked an elderly man next to me what he was drinking and he pulled out a recipe on a napkin from his pocket and invited me to take a picture of it for the future. Obvi, I did because anyone who carries a recipe he made up and included a little happy face at the bottom of the napkin is awesome. As soon as we walked in they asked us what games we wanted to watch. Whaaaat?! That's amazing. The place feels a little bit like a den...an old den but a comfy one. They don't have any food, per se, but they did have a crock pot with beans and Fritos to make a Frito pie. This is why they didn't get 5 stars. I'm a grazer...I'll order wings...then fries...then feel bad so I'll get a salad...then more fries. We left when we got super hungry and went to the next place...that didn't have any food either. Finding a football watching home is hard. On another note, we were pulled over by Castle Hills police as soon as we left. Apparently, it's a known fact that the speed limit is 35 (no postings in sight). We only got a warning and he was a nice officer so I'm passing on the warning - drive very slowly. read more

We brought our dog tonight and one patron had an issue with our puppy for just being outside and being a dog ( he didn't bark or growl at all) but the staff and everyone at the bar had our backs and pretty much made him leave, so for that reason we will be coming back here for sure! Great spot, has been my weekly go-to for all of this football season. Cool bartenders, never too crowded, seems like a safe location (never felt threatened arriving/leaving), fair prices, older crowd (I'm 28) makes for a chill game-watching atmosphere. I really enjoyed my experience at Mitchell's. I showed up with a group of my colleagues to watch some of the NCAA basketball tournament. The gentleman behind the bar greeted our group when we walked in and made sure we never saw the bottom of our glasses! The service was outstanding. The atmosphere was very relaxed. Some of our group enjoyed the big screen and couch area for the game while others enjoyed a few games of pool. The atmosphere was quiet enough to have a normal speaking volume conversation,which is very helpful when with work colleagues. Bartender popped the tops off three bottles of beer for me while I watched football. The next week I returned, and received a rather harsh lecture from the bartender that my one dollar tip from the previous week was "an insult". Screw him, and his crumby bar. I found out they have a kitchen and it is now open on Sundays during football (12 weeks too late). I have had the Philly Cheese Steak and it is awesome, they also have weekly specials, last week was a Chicken Fried Steak Sandwich that looked pretty good. I will have to come back to watch football since they have ALL the games on. there was a great football vibe on Sunday and the food made it even better. I will try different things on their limited menu this week. I might even start coming here for a local bar, drinks seemed inexpensive and bartenders were nice. read more
