This is a "don't miss" spot just outside of Rosendale. What a funky, beautiful spot! The cuisine is elegant southern comfort food -and it's done well! It's also a very cool cocktail lounge. There is outdoor dining on the old fashioned porch out front, ginormous, yet cozy, indoor space, and a large, spectacular -sorta hidden - outdoor garden (with fire pit) with seating areas perfect for date night or friends hang. The staff were all very friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. I had the shrimp and grits. This dish, while seemingly simple, can often go wrong. Not here- it was "chef's kiss" perfection. The grits were flavorful and creamy and the shrimp were well seasoned and tender. Hubby

I could come here every week!! The ambiance is just perfect for a cozy night with friends. We were seated at one of the couch tables. It is literally two love seats with a table between them. It was lovely! The drinks were fantastic. The food was delicious. The prices were reasonable. They even had a DJ spinning some vinyls. This might be a new fave!!

We had a lovely stop at this quirky, fun, and tasty spot. The waitstaff were very nice and our food was out quickly. We each had smash burgers -- I had the green beans and my husband the potato salad. Before that, we had the deviled eggs which had a nice vinegary / pickly taste. Everything though was fresh and good. It's a fun place with an large patio and lounge-like interior. If you're in the area, it's definitely a good spot. Plus -- I greatly appreciated their labeling all menu items as being gluten-free, vegan, or vegan option. Bathrooms were also clean!

This place should be on anyone's "to do" list if they are in the area. We sat outside on a warm spring day. I can't say enough about the cool vibe and comfortable outdoor space. The servers were excellent, "A" for service all around. The drinks were excellent, and they had a great selection of beers. (The Fresh and Freaky was particularly good) The food was absolutely delicious. We had the Hush Puppies to start. I had the blacked catfish with Fava bean puree. My wife had the smash burger, and my son had the fried chicken sandwich. I highly recommend all of these as they were absolutely scrumptious. Can't say enough about this place. I can't wait to visit the area again so I can go back.

If i could eat here every week for the rest of my life I honestly would. My sister and I have been semi-regulars here for almost 2 years now and always stop by when we're in the area. The food is simply so damn good. I recommend the shrimp and grits with a side biscuit, yes it's just as comforting and tasty as it sounds. The cocktails are also out of this world, incredibly unique and flavorful. The staff are so friendly and I always see the same few faces working, which to me is an excellent sign of a supportive and healthy work environment. The ambiance is top tier, my favorite elements being the sofa seating and mismatched chairs, the checkered diner-style floor, and the signature disco ball. It's a large space and great for groups, but still manages to feel cozy and welcoming. Additionally, this is a great birthday celebration spot and a must try for any friends visiting. Dining here feels upscale and classic while also being welcoming and accessible to all, a rarity in times like these.

The atmosphere is definitely college bar, with a sprinkling of older locals and a smattering of tourists. In other words, a bit of everything, which is much like their menu. Their burgers are consistently superb, as is their broiled salmon, eggplant fries, and even their eggplant parm (yes, truly), among many other things. But today, it was wing day. Stopped in w best friend, Pots & Pans, AKA Stumbleweed. We split a dozen, half garlic parmesan, half teriyaki. Meaty and juicy (to the point that P&P "sauced up" his shirt). Ice cold draughts on a hot day. And our server, Brittany, was great. Efficient, effective, and effervescent. I thought she was going to do a cartwheel for us. Overall, 5 rama lama wing dong stars

Here at P&G's you'll find a decent bar menu (some on tap, some in bottles, some other drinks), decent layout (our seats were around a couple of corners, the bar kinda bisects the whole place), and decent service (we were a bit under-noticed, but that was corrected promptly once fixed). I suppose that this place is geared toward SUNY more than downtown, and that's honestly not a bad thing. Well, we went for the food, and I'd say a bit more than just decent. I really liked the clam chowder. It's not authentic New England style, but it's sweeter and thicker - I actually liked it more! The bread I dipped was quite good, everyone else enjoyed their food, and I think I got to try a couple of fries and those hit the spot as well. Verdict: New Paltz isn't a town I'd return to in general, but you could do far worse than P&G's while there. In fact, I'm not sure you could do better. Come one, come all.
